Also Infantry Only needs to be regulated to Small City maps like in BF:2142. It keeps the servers from runing maps like Wake Island, or The bigger maps in the game with 64 player Sniper fests that kill the game for many hardcore gamers.

Widescreen with just a command line is still not a true widescreen. The only way to get it is to use a widescreen fixer program that tries to support a true widescreen

I play with the command line options and it looks just fine.

Yeah, real smart, take out the most popular map in the entire game.

Waaah, you can't say for sure what they'll change, remove or add because your not in their circle of trust are you? None of us know whats going on, there just appeared to be a patch imminent and I'm quite chuffed about it.

Look at it this way, the game was released in 2005. Since then, 2142 and Bad Company have all been released, which was plenty of opportunity to move on and say "Hey, we've made all our money from that. Shelf it." but after 3 years, two games and with 2 or 3 major games in development at present/recently, they are still patching 2142 and BF2.

I doubt for a second DICE think to themselves, I know, we'll deliberate **** up our games even more by releasing new patches and trying to please one group of people, just so the other group can have a good old cry on the internet forums about how we're money-hungry and how much of a devil our publisher is.

So, rather than speculating on something that no one outside of DICE knows, how about just being happy they're still updating their older titles.

Long time listener, first time caller, so to speak, and figured in light of our recent interview with DICE, and seeing some fantastic responses to the interview on the forum, that I'd sign up and say hey!

I am a co-founder of a station called netGameRadio,. We are an online radio station which caters for the online gamer. We have been established in Australia, and focus on, not only providing copy-righted music and gaming shows to our listeners, but shout-casting of the different Battlefield leagues in Australia. We have an upcoming $8000 BF2+SF tournament coming up, which we are extremely excited about.

Anyway, thought Id post, look forward to becoming apart of the community here. Glad that you all are awaiting for the patch news on Monday, it certainly has had a chain effect on the community. There is also some great information on 2142 questions, as well as, answering some questions to Heroes and Bad Company on the download as well, they are a little further in to the show.

A couple of decent new maps and some good fixes and how bout a buddy list and join thru buddy option and widescreen and I would be a happy man.

Dropping my M21 and M60 for the good ol' L96A1 and my PKM..

All I am hoping for, is that they OPTIMISE THE BLOODY CLIENT FILES!!! for faster verification. I don't understand, how can BF2142 verify the client files so fast..while BF2 takes 5 minutes..this would really get me back into BF2, and was the main reason as to why I left in the first place.

I'm going to laugh hysterically out in public and then burn my battlefield 2 disks if this were to happen...

Featuring:
Global Authetication system shutdown - Can not connect online on the net unless it is LAN or something like that

New Maps:
The game ended. The new maps our outside. Go take a walk.

And the infamous advertisments they put in:
Go buy an Xbox 360 and buy Battlefield Bad Company. Do it. Do it now.
Not to mention the purchasing of several copies of 2142. (I hate that game :/)

Is hitbox working properly there?

Its less noticable in infantry combat since your often firing at people from long range and since in PR you run and spring more slowly, the hitbox doesnt lagg that far behind the model. But its still messed up when shooting at fast moving targets

I play with the command line options and it looks just fine.

It may look fine to you but BF2 does not support WS therefore, the image is stretched, you can see this by look at the shape of the minimap.
