So would all the who-hows-how-many custom maps, but you seem to be too lazy to even look past your nose for anything.

First off all i did play the custom maps. Ther are a few good one s but the moste off them are just unbalanced bad textured. What i want is a map that has been made by peapol that know how to make them. And another problem that i had whit custom maps is that ther is no S&D only team deatchmatch. I only play s&d because ppl are playing whit tacticts and not just rushing like mad ppl knowing they will respawn in a sec. So it has nothing to do whit lazynes it s just a difrend taste :salute:

The problem with custom maps is that many of them are run with some sort of mod, often meaning a variety of strange rules/settings (often favouring certain clans), and many (if not most) run in Hardcore. As someone else said, many of these servers also focus on TDM and avoid many of the other game-types.

I like custom maps, and appreciate the work of the authors. But those servers are often a clunky "unpolished" gaming experience, and some of those maps aren't that much fun to play on.

Having these 4 new maps on ranked servers allows more SC and more game-types. It also taps into the larger user base that tends to shy away from custom map servers. Once the community mapping contest is over, and those maps are released officially for ranked servers too, it will add even more variety to this game.

plus to run custom maps you have to run a mod server and allot of people don't like that (i hate mod servers) so basically it would be bear.

i dont think it will. bf2142 had that crappy add thing so the sighs would change. the patch would have to install something that would download images to do this

the cool thing though with that bf2142 thing was i was able to block the ip so you dont see the add's :) there's a post on how to do this somewhere in the bf2142 forum on here

NVIDIA is making it possible for PC players to download the map pack for Free on the PC thanks to their sponsorship. In addition, expect to see quite a few promotions popping up leading up to the launch of the map packs on the 5th and beyond. I know NVIDIA has a lot of great things planned for PC users in addition to maps becoming available.

One day, We (All pc gamers) need to give back to nVidia. Seriosuly, they've done all this for us, and we just buy their gfx cards. We need to do more.

Any ideas?

They haven't explicitly promised that, but from the wording when the mapping contest was first announced, it sounded like that's what they were hinting at doing. 402 also made a comment on his blog saying that if they released content made by the community, they would not charge a fee for it.

I believe that once the contest is over, the winning maps will be put into a map pack and delivered to all 3 platforms for use on ranked servers.
