    Re: Rising Conflicts v0.0913 Released

My only compaint with the mod is the lack of balance. AT rockets are overpowered, AA vehicles are too powerful. Other than that, I loved the NO jeeps, the weapons, the grappling hook, the toxic gas, and other variables. Like I said, I think the feedback would be a bit more positive had certain elements been balanced before the beta release. It just seems like AT can rape everything, choppers in one shot (easy for most veterans to do), APCs/Tanks lose 3/4 life from one shot, and etc...

Love the rocket speed. Just lower the damage of AT rockets, lower the damage of direct flak fire from an AA vehicle, and we'll be set for now.

          Not to mention

          -Floating Runways

-You can damage the runway, but if you do you cant take off

          -ALL the animations are off

-When reloading M203, there is no actual round being loaded

-When you switch tank's rounds, there is no graphic for it (Like when you switch from bomb to missile it shows the bomb/missile)

-On the boat one, I kept trying and couldnt land the osprey (Other people couldnt either)

-Whenever I got close to landing it, there was ONE guy sitting on the edge with a eryx, so if I got close enough he shot me down with ONE rocket.

-MAJOR fps loss, others in the server were also experiencing this.

I think the destroyed runways is intentional. You destroy it to prevent others from taking off. Good idea except the damn things seem to blow up on their own.

I did manage to land the osprey on that boat map. But it was a hard task. There's only a tiny bit of room on my throttle stick where the thing will go down before it starts going forward. However, when I did land it, the landing gear never came out.

Speaking of that map... how are people in the rubber boats supposed to board the cargo ship? There's no ropes or anything else to climb. And you can't use the grappling hook either. It doesn't work from a position inside the boat and if you exit the boat you end up in the water and can't use it there either.

Hmmm... Maybe I'll copy-paste this stuff in a ticket. LOL!

it is there for an auto update feature. I highly doubt it is noticeibly slowing your machine down. however you can always disable it if it bothers you.

Actually, its worse. The m203 and m320 are both breach loaders. Running the gp25 animation until we make a new one.

It is possible. Its a ***** though even for me and I've been flying the thing for a long time.

There are two tunnels at the rear of the boat that lead to an air duct.

That'd be the auto-patcher functionality for quick dispersal. Doesn't hurt anything to turn that one off. Apologies for that particular side-effect.

It probally doesnt affect my computer (2GB) but for the people running 512MB, I can see it being a little bit of a problem. I know with my old computer I had to exit all processes.

I know the runway was intentional, but all somebody has to do is take a jet, ram the runway and there ****ed for the round. Unless you can repair it.

Works almost identicly to a commander asset, actually. so yes, they can in fact be repaired. Now the ramming a jet into the runway bit... that was an oversight we'll adress shortly. also looking into the potentially overlaping collisionmeshes on a few maps, wich is likely whats causing the spawn and die bit.

Cool. But wouldn't it be easier, and more fun, to use the grap hooks to climb aboard?

yes, yes it would. just need to find a workarround for the bit where if you were to exit the rib, it'd kill you. think we can all agree that'd be anything *but* fun.

??? WTF are you talking about? Why would you be killed if you exit the RHIB? Why not simply make the RHIB's exit points on top of the RHIB? After all in the real world, when I get up off my *** from my own boat, I don't throw myself overboard each time.

DCX had it this way. You should really do it the same way... it does work just fine.

That was pretty much my response when we tried it, actually. Again, That doesn't apear to be an option at this point in time, so we'll need to look at other means. Course, if anyone cares to prove us wrong on that score, by all means. that'd please about 5 mods at minimum that im aware of that have been trying to fix just this issue.
