Hyped? How would you describe the "Hype" If you all have some crazy notion that the first Alpha release is gonna be up to par with the amount of stuff that was in DC Final then you are mistaken. Granted we have more to offer than DC did with their first Alpha build. So thats a plus. We're in the middle of .1 and .2.. Perhaps close to what DC 1.5 would be like. We have a good sized amount of equipment thats pretty varied. Getting all the rest of the familiar pieces such as the shilka and what not will prob come at a later release for us. Its a good sized amount of goodies comming with the Alpha so you wont be disappointed by the amount of things you get to drive and kill.

I heard you guys aren't going to be like a dc bf2 more of just a remake with more vehicles and better stuff. Im guessing USI is going to be more like a bf2 Desert combat deal with lock on missiles and what not.

Short answer: YES, it's more mature.

Is that what you heard? Heard from who? what exactly does any of that mean?

USI is and has been out for a while, and no one you know has played our game, so what exactly are you talking about? We have done countless polls among DC fans and never has a majority wanted lock ons, not even close. Some people swear they wont even play with lock ons, go figure.

USIs release really wasn't a release imo just kinda a thing it really didn't phase the community like POE2 has. Their next release should probably be the "real" one with more custom things such as sounds n such and updated things.

In your opinion USI wasnt a real release cause it didnt "Phase the comunitylike POE2" I shouldnt even get into that one, lol.

It doesnt matter anyway, each one is a totaly different free game, enjoy all, or some, or none. It wont effect my paycheck, thats for sure, lol.

There will never be antoher DC for many reasons, its a different time in FPS gaming, as most of these guys will tell you. Anyone who says any different is kidding themselves.

Hope to see on the battlefield.

Ahhh the age old question up there with 'to be or not to be'...when is a release not a release?
Well it was on several download sites (eventualy ),it had tens of thousand of people download and play it ,obviously to do so there was also servers...so in my opinion (if it matters) it follows all the correct criteria for a release..

As for not phasing the community, well i cant comment as i'm not up to speed on the goings on at camp POE2 but people i know who played USi enjoyed it,pretty much the point of all the work the devs (and to a lesser extent us lowly testers) put in..

I'm looking forward to DesertConflict and their take on the BF2 engine, unlike a few people here i've played DC for a number of years and still continue to do so (punch and pie servers..dont say i dont help out Daggers )

Like has been said people shouldn't expect DCF (or DC.7) quality or quantity, its the first release and the fun factor should make up for the omissions.

I tend to agree with you Lobo, but I'm not sure that it's more "mature" You might want a better word for that. If you look at the reason we and all gamers are here, it's because of arcade games. We all come from a collective history of them. Atari, Pac-Man, Rygar, Pitfall. All of these are arcade games, and they were some of the stepping stones to the Bf series we all play today. Kill all bunnyhoppers and Dolphin diving bastards , yes! But you have to have an element of arcade in the game, or it wont last long. We don't play them to be real, we play them to escape reality.:)

So real war is slow paced? Ha, tell that to our boys in uniform and see if they agree with you.

Obviously each person has a diferent opinion and cup of tea in gaming, and is fine and dandy.

My point is that a realistic game or mod can be a hell of fun also, or do you think we, the realism whores, play to suffer?

For us the total fun is to feel part of a real, dirty and ugly battle, full of blood, sweat and tears, where the keys to sucess are the teamplay, the tactic, the skills handling weapons and not the speed hitting the space bar, rotating 360ยบ in mid air and cycling 4 uberweapons to kill one heli, two tanks and 7 soldiers in half a second, performing like a maniac rabbit on crack.

Amen to that Lobo. You hit the nail on the head. I think its dumb to have all planes in the game perform the same. I am glad they didn't change the J-10 as it adds some realism to the game. The F-35 may be more nimble in real life, but at least we have something in this game that is not an exact match of its counterpart on the opposite team.

Not every military jet flies the same or has the same amount of armour. I prefer things to be more accurate. Otherwise, the F-15 is just a skin of the same plane that the Mig-29 is a skin of. They are not the same in real life so they should not be the same in the game. If they make them the same in the game, then they should have the same skin.

I just don't know why a company would make a war game and then dumb it down so that the Mario crowd will be happy playing it. Lets keep it real. Let the modders dumb it down if they want. But then again, EA just wants to sell as many copies as possible. They don't care about the customers or the game. Just the bottom line. EA has gotten to big and has forgotten about us the customer.

Thats like saying that blondes are really better looking than Brunettes. ANd why its more mature to date one or the other.

Play whatever game you enjoy playing, there isnt any point in all the dialogue about why one is better. Points of view cant be argued, effectively.

BTW, thanks for all the hijacks. Ill be sure not to return the favor. :box:
