Oh yeah, damn. After playing USI and PoE i promised myself never to play a game where they think that the HIND is able to go up against a proper attack chopper. Whether it's the Apache or the Eurocopter Tiger. I don't see DC being able to pull something out of their arse that will make it somewhat fun to be on the Iraqi side.

I never uderstood that concept. In the DC days, I found the weapons devastating on both sides, US and Iraqi. Maybe some people specialize, but I could kill most people with weapons and vehicles from both armies.

A hind should be a tank killer, troop mover type thing IMO. Of course, a great chopper pilot against a noob makes a Hind vs Apache fight a viable option.

I have taken down many apache pilots with a hind, and laughed when it was over.

Then again, I have taken out a Hind with the M109 from halfway across the map, so go figure.

Its all in how you precieve it, granted I do feel the American weapons had the advantage in old DC,see but it made it more of a challenge and tougher to play as the Iraq's. (I hope its more balanced this time around) Also lets face it everyone wanted to be on the US side so you were often left as Iraqi by default.

All that being said find a good server and get better, Iraqi,US,......whatever just play to win.

Re: Desert Conflict On The Horizon?

Actually, it might bdepend what servers and group you ran with in the DC days.

From my experience, everyone loved the Iraqi side first. The MIG, the SU25, the mig, the Saiga, and the Support on iraqi were all considered the best weapons in the begininng. Of course, everyone cried about the VSS\sniper gun of death at first, didnt they.

I didnt notice much difference personally, it depends who was using it. My pal <R>Noobie could take most anyone down in a dog fight with the Frogfoot, even good pilots in the M16, he just owned you, lol. That made DC fun, if you were good. BF2 took away that dominance of the noobs, for the most part.

For instance, I always thought the AK spec variant in DC was an amazing gun, most people didnt like them. The saiga was my all time favorite for close quarters. Lots of jumping and Saiga spray was the "Bunny Hopping" of DC.

If a noob pilot goes up against a vet in DCON, they wont win, thats how were making the game. With skill, you will again own all the kids out there who think the PC they mom bought will give them the edge, muhahaha.

I think balance is lame. If the real US weapons are better, they should be better in the game, if Iraqi tanks are better, or choppers, they should be better in the game. I prefer more realistic weapons.

Many of us prefer a game where one army is unbalanced because of the skill of the players on that side, and thier ability to work together for the win.

In DC, sometimmes 2 or 3 guys could own the whole game, and all you could do to survive is stay out of thier way.

Clans and guys would get banned from DC servers, cause four of us whould own thier entire team, it was greaty to get banned for just wrecking thier shop, lol.

As a favor for the work that modders do, I wish moderators would just get rid of people like you.

I should just ignore it, but its hard some time. I need less coffee, lol.

Screw the balance Bring on the Challenge

And I sure hope you don't ruin the Hind as POE did when they decided that it should not retract its gears. Hind is an Ugly beast if it doesn't get those gears up. Period.

                            And I can't wait for ur T-tanks!!!

Hell, I liked the guns better for the Iraqis than I did for the US. Defiantly more fun when it takes some skill to beat back the other team.
