Doorstop from the Desert Conflict mod has posted up some exciting news over in the Desert Conflict forums today. Here's what he had to say:

Well i'm currently sitting in a meeting with the other devs and we've done alot of talking about whats going on and so on and so forth. I can tell you this at this moment. We are feature locked. So no more new content will be added for this upcomming release. We've finalized our lists of what will be in the .1 Alpha build for release and will be wrapping that stuff up. We'll be saving some stuff that we are half done with for the next release. We'll have a good selection of maps and vehicles. But most of all I thought you'd be pleased to know that its VERY close now. Please dont ask for a timeline I wont give it. Not just yet. We have a few new test builds to compile and go through to make sure we've worked the annoying crap out of it. BUT THE TIME IS NEAR!!!

Sweet, the only bad thing is now I have to manage my play time even more lol, so I can still play PoE, OPK and this, along with Company of Heroes.

Good news, POE 2 left me disappointed overall with its weak helicopter physics and always having to zoom in for accurate weapon fire. I hope Desert Conflict has stayed true to the original DC in that respect.

This is gonna be sweet. After DC came out I never player 1942 again. I hope after Desert Conflict I will never want to go back to BF2

Don't forget people this is the 0.1 alpha release, so its not what your going to get like in our future releases.
As told before, not all stuff can make it in this first release, but like in the Desert Combat mod, every other release will get better and better with more good stuff like the org made from scratch!!
