erm.................

I've just updated my EA Downloader and whilst bored outta my mind last night I was checking files in my cache file, which is in the downloader folder and found the 1.4 full & incremental files! They didnt show when you start the downloader though. I opened the incremental in WordPad and there are true and false lines in there, so I was kinda tempted to fiddle with the file, but thought against it.

So does that mean the patch is ready and EA/Dice are just waiting for something, or is the downloader just been made ready for when the patchs are sorted????

I just changed a value in the file and the patch displayed in the downloader...but it points to an invalid url. So don't bother looking into it.

I only got patch 1.3 in my downloader!

I believe must people simply would be happy with a hotfix for the server crashing problem and CTF problem. The other issues are minor in comparison. EA should have released a hotfix for the critical issues and taken the right amount of time for the other non-critical issues. I rent 3 ranked servers for my clan and it's been a struggle to keep attendance up as the servers crash 2, 3 or more times a day. Most people know it's a patch issue but when a server crashes, most just find another server to hop on real quick so our server that crashes then looses the players and sits empty.

I was excited to see all patches removed from the EA downloader yesterday. This afternoon I look and they have added 1.3 back on. Not a good sign for us but I will hope for the best.

Why is everyone up in arms over this???? This was from EA's website on the 15th of this month. Before you flame and go all crazy, why do you even play if you dont enjoy it? I just think it is ironic of all the people who spazz over this game and want to boycott everything, but still spend the time to troll the battlefield 2 forums. Just think it is funny, thats all!

Community Update - 8/15/06

Greetings Everyone, As many of you are now aware we have made the choice to take some extra time with the 1.4 patch before release.

During our standard final processing of the 1.4 client update we came across an issue that, although it does not compromise stability, we felt needed to be addressed in order to meet our goal of improving the overall player experience with Battlefield 2.

It has come to our attention that a beta version of the 1.4 client has leaked to the general public. It should be noted by players that this file is not final and being such could cause damage to players systems.

We want to warn players to avoid the use of any client files that are not distributed by EA/DICE or one of our trusted partners. Once we have set a new schedule for release we will communicate this information to everyone.
