As far as I can tell, the PLA voices in this game come from serveral different people and they all speak in Mandarin. Most of these voices are pretty accurate but one of the guys' accent is very funny. My guess is that guy probably could only speak Cantonese but somehow EA managed to get him to speak Mandarin, which, like many other cases that had happened before, ended up with a very entertaining accent.

If you know Cantonese, then you can learn Mandarin phrases very easily. But I agree that some of the accents sound a bit funny...

there is a (more or less) common phrase in the arabic languege (or part of a phrase) that i hear in BF and sometimes on TV (live reports with subtext etc.) that sounds like "halt das mauli"

What does it mean, beacuse in german that would mean "shut your mouth".
I hope it doesnt offend you, if it does, im sorry :X.

            ps:
i think its inclueded in the sounds for either Calling Resupply or Support as either Grunt or Squad Leader.

Case Closed. EA needs to do more lingistic research into the Arabic Language.

Don't close this "case" just yet, this thread is too interesting!

I was wondering, what does the one that ends in something like 'hasken medaab' mean?

                      By the way, nice thread.

                              Re: MEC arabic language mistakes....

Medic says: "Sata'esh Ayohal batal. Od el'an ela al qetal" which mean, "You will live, hero. Now get back to the fight"

Even though I speak Arabic, I switched everything to English voices because like Arabian Knight said, there are too many errors in the Arabic translation. One of the things that annoyed was the artillery warning from the commander. In Arabic, he warns: "Artillery, your area" not "Artillery in your area"

The problem, I think, is that EA gave scripts to some people who were supposed to translate those scripts literally and in the script it actually DOES say: "Artillery, your area." You can even see it when the commander warns about artillery. Same goes for "Ammo, here" or "first aid, here" If I were given those scripts without knowing the cases in which they will be used, I would probably make the same errors in translation.

Any how, literal translation isn't good anyway. The Middle Eastern Coalition should use more real dialog that includes Islamic prayers and some colloquial Arabic.

BTW, Arabian Knight, you have an XFire name?
