Re: Cheating. Was the last suspect death you got, suspect?

the majority of cheaters who use those aimbots probably still suck with them and they will still die. a person who goes 43-1 I highly doubt could stay alive that long w/ a crappy aimbot like in the video. I consistently go 3:1 or 4:1 K/d and on good days I've managed 10:1 for a couple maps consecutively on foot w/o vehicles. There is no way to do that, even knowing where a player is, with that hack.

Re: Cheating. Was the last suspect death you got, suspect?

I've been telling and telling admins that hacks DO exist in the game, but they all say that I'm making it up. Ugh. For crying out loud, one of my jobs when I worked with GameSpy was hunting down and destroying the ability to use hacks/glitches. I recognize what a hack is and what is not.

Imm. Glitch is the most common hack I've seen. It allows you to become immune to damage but only to one weapon at a time. Everyone says that it's "impossible" since it's server side. However, they are wrong....it does exist. If you fire at someone and he simply doesn't take damage, switch to pistol to kill him off. He probably wouldn't have enough reaction time to switch it to anti-pistol. Explosives also do well.

There is also a warp hack that allows someone to "spawn" next to you, but they are on the opposite team.

There is also another that allows you to have the enemy MODEL. It's not a red tag bug, I mean a U.S. solider with MEC model.

All of these work in ranked servers. However, I havn't seen the model hack in the latest patch, but the other two I have very often.

I've never played with someone I thought was hacking. I can attribute anything to lag between me, the server, and him.

I'm not one to really care either as long as it doesn't ruin the game experience...inwhich case you can hit escape then hit disconnect. I've played a few other games where everyone spawns and one smacktard with a hack just stands n their main base and sprays aimbot bullets through terrian and objects. Kinda amusing to see for a few seconds til an admin gives em the boot. Let's just all chill ^_^

I think hacks are more widespread than just 1500----it's damn pathetic---but honestly I think the hacks make people worse players tahn better ones---hacks can only do so much right? good tactics will compensate for someone using a hack in most instances-except if there are ones for air whores---jets are hard enought to take down in their stock setting-anyway good thread

Seems to me, if PB has already banned ~1300+ players, it is very likely that there is an average of ~1500 cheaters online at any time...

I am getting too old for this ****, its almost time to find a new hobby...but I just bought a new PC

Seriously though, there is cheating going on in BF2 no doubt, those who say nay are just in denial. I am guilty of accusing quite often, but I am certain I am right some of the time that the other player is just plain dirty. For example, I have a sniper rifle scoped in, I cannot see the other player, yet he is shooting directly AT ME with a PKM and kills me  I run an x1900xt with ultra high settings...this is not something I would consider fair play.

Heck with the aimbot. Imagine if you will, you knew where the enemy was every single second. There was no way you could EVER mistake an enemy and friendly. No fog. Heck even buildings dont hide folks. Do you not think your 4:1 KD would go up? Like........alot? Hell, 90% of the kills made on me, were made because that person got the 1 up on me. With these types ofhacks.......i assure you, no one will get the "1 up" on you. SO no, your KD would surely increase 10 fold.

Now.........is it really so hard to think there arnt 1 or 2 people hacking on your favorite server? [/I]
Well, lets see about the probabilty. Assume 1700 cheaters playing for an average 2hr per day (OP assumed they play 24/7 - LOL). Assume thats quite evenly spread through all time zones, so you have about 140 cheaters - statistically - playing at any given time. This number should be higher, as the timezone spread is not that even, so lets be generous and make it 200 cheaters at any time. There are usually 2000 servers with someone playing at any time. Since you assumed that some cheaters give their cheats to their friends, lets also assume they play together, on the same servers. So divide your number by 2. That gives 100 2-cheater squads at any time. If there are 2000 servers running rounds at any time that makes 5% probability of encountering a cheater within 2 hours (thats not taking into account possible overlaps - like more than 2 cheaters on the same server at the same time - heck, this pobably also happens, especially on popular servers). Thats not exactly accurate, but good enough I believe. Not much. Not sure however about the 1700 cheates. I doubt there are that many. I think MSX site is nothing short of a fraud and even though they do sell working cheats their customers dont last too long in BF2. With "private cheats", of course, you can never know, but i doubt it is that easy to make a cheat bypassing PB so 200 seems a tad high. But anyway, the probability is quite slim, unless you play for 8hrs a day, when you would be guaranteed to encounter a cheater every 2 days or so.

I guess that playing on a quality server, with screenshots being reviewed by admin, with punksbusted feed and with battlerecorder on - you can be pretty sure there are no cheats around. There surely are cheats well suited for this sort of circumstancs but I guess their users are not that abundant - probably limited to well-regrded top clan players.

I'll agree with your thought process on your numbers.
But 2,000 servers? Im willing to bet that number is around 100 servers or less.
I mean.... half the servers right off the bat, are empty. SOme are locked. Half the servers from that, have bad pings, per time zone. SOme of the ones left, are so heavily admined that doing only marginaly well, would get you kicked. Not good for the cheater.
I believe per time zone/area, there are really like 20 servers worth playing on that has alot of guys on it, and a decent ping. Plus throw in type of maps. If im cheating, i want alot of folks playing, and i want maps where guys are gonna be plentiful. So you can almost eliminate big maps, to a point. Again, your cutting into the server numbers.
I'll be generous to your calculations and say, that there are only 50 servers at any given time worthy of even playing on, let alone using cheats. Plus, if your a cheater, and have say, 3 servers that you cheat on.....what are the chances others that cheat havnt claimed that server as home as well? Heck its not a chance. Its a given.

As a pilot, could you imagine how well you would do, if every ENEMY had bright green neon blaring out? The guessing work is done. YOu fly around, see a bright green tank.....forget hud guesswork or mis targeting made by the game......its an enemy. Boom! gone. Next.
Or.....you fly by a flag, and see like 12 bright green guys running around. OMG.......Jackpot. Turn, bomb...collect.
Forget the AA........the bright green neon would indicate someone is in the AA way before your hud will tell you that.
Buzzzing an enemy flag and thinking of bombing it? Wait, no green neon.....dont waste bombs.....NEXT....
These cheats would work great for the grunt. But for the pilot.....omg. Ruthless. Same goes for the helo. Imagine being the gunner in the mec chopper. How do you say.... 50 kills within minutes? And again, the guesswork is gone. Its either an enemy or friendly. Plus you can see the guy behind the building, so you watch. OOoh OOhh here he comes to peak around the corner...SHOOT, dead. Next.

The 2000 servers with rounds running I just guessed. It might be 700. Note, this does not need to be corrected by 'ping' factor - the 140 cheaters playing at the same time applies to the whole world, i.e. all time zones. I agree though that you might rule out certain servers - i.e. those with too few players. Before we actually go real numbers we would really have to check how many servers with rounds in progress are there at any given moment. Prolly someone from BF2RS should know. My guess would be between 700 and 1000. I have no fav servers, so I always refresh server list with 'populated', 'ranked', 'same mod' checked and I figure it is always in hundreds. In september it was below 2000, I guess. Anyway, I think if there would be 500 with rounds playing globally, and this 100 cheating squads, that would in fact give you 20% probability of playing with a hacker at least once during the 2hr period. Within each 5 days of gaming you would have certainly played with one. Taking into account that only blantant cheating is obvious, you would perceive someone as haxxor once every two or three weeks. Do we really see so many complaints on the forums? I see more of them recently but still I consider BF2 to be far, far from CS/CS2 or AAO.

How can you be 100% certain with the tools the game offer you? I'm talking Aimbot/radarhacks/wallhacks.

Hell getting supsicious about cheating even in a game that has first person view has more to do with how the player moves than what he does (if he isn't blatant). How you can spot a wallhack in BF2 without at least two observers is beyond me.
