Very True...Just another reason why the stat system while it had good intentions has turned some players into point whores with no cares about teamwork, thats why some guys will have a huge combat score and very very small team scores

But I have been welding @ work for 11 years, when a guy w/ 22 years gives me advice on how to weld I listen, & I would listen when a guy w/ 5.5 years gives me advice too, but if they give me conflicting advice, I will go w/ the more experienced mans advice first

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe your wanting to "tell" high ranking, highly experienced officers the best strategy to use against base rapers, rather than "listen" to their advice is the reason you end up on the "receiving" end of rape in the first place?

Not intimidated, after all it is just a game..anyway, I do not have the time to log a ridiculous amount of hours as some of the more dedicated BF2 players, BUT, in the hours I have played I still have made some observations. You stated your rank to prove that your response should be taken as correct because you have a higher rank and much more time in game....my statement was a matter of my opinion, I (despite my sucking) can drive my FAV past attacking forces much better than the slow moving tank, if our last base is an uncap I escape in the fastest most manuverable vehicle I can find and drive to the furthest, least defended enemy flag....in my time in game that has proved to be most successful, I never said everyone should stay and defend.
I dont play commander because it does not interest me looking at the commander screen all match, if I wanted that I would just go back to playing RTS games like C&C Generals.

most of the best players are not even super high players with 60K points because they are competive and don'play much on rankend server but on infrantry servers like Waib or something (infrantry)
how the hell do you manage to play so much? 1000+ hours? You say you have been welding for 11 years, lets say you started when you were 18. That puts you at 29 at the youngest...how the hell can someone at damn near thirty years old manage to play for 4+ hours a day and still have a family/social life?

My fav map to command on is Wake, if you can't "multi-task" between fighting, & commanding you will die a thousand deaths (trust me on this 1)
I have become a highly successful commander, who sees MORE than his fair share of action by being the most prolific defender of the main base from "base rapers", & I LOVE it

I got sick of trying to explain it to Howie earlier. If they don't know what an objective is, its difficult to debate them on what exactly you need to do to accomplish it.

As Serial pointed out, the best method for taking a base is to move in on a base, and rape people as they spawn to protect your guys on the flag. This can only happen if the enemy dies on your way in, or if they left the flag undefended. Whose fault? Your teams.

Most people know whats what, and most people have the brains to understand what is necessary. Noone minds you keeping an eye on the spawns on the CAPPABLE flags once youre moving in. I dont even mind you keeping an APC/Tank outside the flag to keep an eye on the spawns so your troops can march in. I do mind raping the uncappables.

Your team is denying their team their air power, to facilitate the rest of the ground team's job?
Your team is denying them equipment from their main, such as tanks and lav's.
Your team is preparing to make sure that once your side takes all the flags, or greys them, that the enemies next move won't be able to be an organized push out of main.
In Chess, you don't push all your pieces to attack a single part of the enemies "territory" on their side of the board. You set up positions to make sure your enemy can't move as freely as they'd like, and you setup positions to take advantage of a future situation.
Thus, my point. My goal is the win, not the points. But it is simultaneously true that kills(read: points) equals tickets, and tickets equals a win. It is also true that if I cost them one ticket and blow up their plane as its taking off, I've saved my side 10 or 20 tickets potentially from what that plane would have done if I let him get up in the name of being a good sport.
Psychologically, spawn campers are no different than teamkillers. They feed off the idea that they're getting under somebody's skin. Everytime they get a reaction from somebody they nearly **** themselves laughing...believe me, I know...BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Everything you said is another example on how things work great on paper, but they fail in practice because they are neglecting some subjective issues.
The most important is- its not how it should be played in public servers. I dont consider a clan going into a pub and wiping the floor, a good game. (Im in a clan myself, Ive seen, and done it)
Keeping enemy air assets conctantly grounded is not how you defend your team, its how you gather personal points, and you can keep the "tactical / strategical necessities" out. This is not how its done.
Youre a good pilot yourself FFS! I have no doubt you can keep the bomber busy, or killed while its airbourne.
Shooting them down while they are grounded, is an act of desperation and cowardice, period.
I have yet to see a baseraping teamplayer. And I mean, dedicated baserapist. Vast majority of them are solo players, and the rest are in a squad, while the squad is fighting somewhere else.

They are not denying anything. They are just plain cowards. If you keep the jets and choppers down (in public servers) and you believe youre a wicked teamplayer, then you have issues. Youre a coward, end of story.

Again, I have yet to see team swarming in to an uncapable to "deny the opposition their equipment". From what Ive seen, if the flags are uncaptured, and there are people going for enemy main, they do it for their own personal points. The effect is in the benefit of their own team, of course, Im not denying that, but its not done for the benefit of their team.

Everything you do in the game affects your team, and their team anyway. If youve got a 2:1 KDR in a game, youve been useful for your team.
But most baserapists, if not all, play for their own personal benefit, not the teams benefit, while benefiting their team anyway.

Casual gamers meet here. People who play for the fun of it. Most of them arent uber1337 in their skills and most wont be motivated to push back once they are kicked back into their uncappable. Fair play in pubs, is when you restrict yourself in order to let everyone (else, LOL) have a good game.

LOL. I guess I am selfish, in that I am more concerned that my squad and I do well, play/practice well, and have a good time than the thousands of random pub noobs who whine until you let them out of their main instead of fight their way out.
