People who whine about base rapers just suck at the game, which is fine.. but it makes me laugh every time they say base rapers have no skill. Such an ironic statement.

I dont think base rapers have no skill. I actually think the opposite. Most rapers i have seen are very good at the game. The problem is, it doesnt take a whole of skill as you call it, to do it. I've seen total dummies get some "ok" scores by laming the mains. And seriously if i go into a main..... get in a tank........then put a pork chop on the firing button....and then put my dog in front of the firing button, by simply chewing on the pork chop, he could probally kill a few people. I mean......hello.
Besides, come on.......if im on the "better" team, and 8 of my teammates are raising hovac on the enemies main, and they cant get out of the main....it makes my game no fun. Why? I WANT the team to come and take a flag.
When im after a flag, i expect opposition, no matter if im taking it or, gaurding it. Spawn raping uncaps, takes this away most of the time. Thats why i hate it. I hate it cuz it takes away from my fun.
There has been some real rare times that i have after 10 minutes, joined my team mates at the enemies uncap to lame them. WHy? because if i have any hopes of actually trying to kill someone, thats where i had to be.

No, it was not stacked in any real numbers by any one clan. We just had a great group of TEAM PLAYERS!

If you have a slow loading computer, you may want to look for servers that have a higher start delay (greater than 15 sec.)! The Wolf server is a great one to give a try (I think they are set for something like 30-40 sec.). I play there as well and have been able to team up with a great group of players and win many consecutive rounds.

At the end of the day I think how nice it has been to play with such a great group of TEAM PLAYERS!

P.S. Not glotting or bragging! But, yes I have an old custom built game box and yes I can spawn in lighting fast!

Just curious becuase I went from 1GB of ram to @GB of ram by matchin' up the same exact ram, but I wonder if I have to buy new ram to move up to 3GB

Jesus man, how delusional are you? Our argument was never about baserape...that just shows how juvenile your 41 year old mind is. We had different OPINIONS on a tactical situation, as neither of our points can be considered factual, since neither of us is the best BF2 players.

I am only twenty four, and I don't have the greatest job, but I certainly make enough to have the things I want. How dare you assume I have to work overtime to make ends meet, I certainly don't. I am glad you are so proud of your job and the money that you make but it still cannot buy you common sense. And rubbing my nose in what? Are you even reading what you are typing? I don't miss out on time to play BF2 because I am slaving away at work, I simply choose other activities.

Yeah im cheap and yeah its time for a rebuild. Just prepping wifey poo now on the purchases.
Im gonna go 939 opty single core though i think. And build around that......maybe a 148 opty, for 200 bucks and work around that. I dont know ....so many damn choices anymore.

You have a nice rig as well! Do you have your Raptors in a RAID?

I beleive ther are DS (double sided). What I did is looked at the specs set by Gigabite and matched them. I first bought the Corsair 3200 XMS Extreme Memory, than I notice one day that Newegg had a nice sale on Kingston Value Ram. Beleive it or not, it had the exact same specs as the higher dollar Corsair and everything run real smooth together.

Another one of my tricks to quick loading-in's; I run the game off an image of my game disk and not the game disk itself! I think it helped more than adding RAM.

This is the program I use to make and run my images.

I used to use a OCZ ram booster w/ 1GB of ram, but had to take it out when I added the 2nd GB

My Gigabyte mobo is the GA-K8NS w/ 4 slots, & defaults to 333Mhz when using 2GB

Your manual say to use 2 DS, & 4 SS for Dual Channel w/ 3GB, do you get confirmation of Dual Channel status in the BIOS @ startup? Because it would seem that you are running 3GB in Single channel

But if you have taken it to the next level, please share

I am going to have to try that trick w/ Alcohol, I have used it once before

so no one else thinks its lame that when you only have one base and you HAVE to spawn their, the enemy has APCs/Tanks looking down allys where your body actually spawns or C4 on the exact spot where you appear to kill you before you even hit the ground...

Spawncamping is fine, but when its to the point where you cant even get your feet on the ground before your dead its quite pathetic.

Should they just let you spawn and get organized? Its crappy when this happens to you, but your team is to blame, not the other team. Get some flags before they roll tanks into your last spawn point. Seriously people...

The objective of a single player game is to win.

The objective of developers who are creating a single player game is to create an environment based on the player, so that the player can win. The most successful single player games were those that had a strong set of dynamics that allowed a player to customize the game to fit their personal comfort bubble.

The objective of a multiplayer game is to win, collectively.

The objective of developers who are creating a multiplayer where teams are involved (ie: Team A and Team B - or - MEC team and USA team) is to create a game where, upon following his/her individual goals, a player will help the collective (or, the team) attain the objective, which in this case is to win the round.

With that out of the way, I continue the response

Saying that good players should restrain themselves in a public environment so that bad players can enjoy their time is one huge contradiction because it is based on the idea that everyone should have an enjoyable gaming experience. If good players aren't allowed to do what they do best (kick ass), they will not have a good time, thus flipping the script but not solving the problem of everyone having a good time.

The experience of the players is strongly based on two factors:

1. Server rules.
2. Game developers.

If both of the above do things right, everyone will have an enjoyable gaming experience. The good news is, there is always a selection of the above two.

If you don't like how the game is made, get/make a mod (server side or not, doesnt matter).

If you don't like how the admins are acting, go somewhere else.

Either way, telling me that I am personally responsible for the gaming experience of another player is just silly.

I cant argue that. But Im not agreeing much either.

The objective might be "to win", but youre not seeing the point. Spawncampers, basecampers and baserapers are not doing this to WIN. They are doing this to get points.

Even if youre, doesnt mean that you just sit in an uncappable all the round and "win for the team".

i enjoy people basecamping... just more points for me is how i look at it. Plus its nice to lay down a claymore or two for them when they come back to that same base. And yes, they always do come back.
