Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Indian_scout has decided to leave BF2RS for personal reasons.
Im guessing those personal reasons was to ripoff the program so he could be the big boss of the program and try to make a proffit off of an already existing program. Nice.
if you had a clue you would trip over yourself and fall on your face, dont presume to know what you dont have a clue of..
Couldnt wear that kickass director of military police badge over at BF2RS ROFL?
Just what we needed. Lets water down the reporting process even more. Wait till the game has jumped the shark then put up this appearance that the BF2 police are here to help.
*PUKES PROJECTILE VOMIT*
*WIPES DRIPPING THICK VOMIT FROM CHOPS AND CONTINUES*
A place where baseless accusations can run rampant. Where noone can see whats reported or discuss feedback. 2/3 of the reports at BF2RS are junk and thats why the forums are the perfect format.
GTF outta here with your garbage! Try playing the game instead of worrying about everyone elses conduct. Dont make a single claim of improving conditions. The game and the associated "ROE" are FUBAR and if ANYTHING you just piled on more manure.
Reminds me of people that need to get more snatch and gaming time in.
Less typing and trying to get involved where noone wants you.
Bravo that man!!!! I couldnt agree more. Let those who pay for the servers and put in the time adminning them decide whats right and wrong. This is exactly whats wrong with the world today, and it mirrors something else that stinks. Havent we seen enough of people sticking their noses in where its not wanted!!!!
Personally I think BF2 is dying a little bit.. I myself don't play nearly as much as I used to, so an updated ROE doohickey and some new reporter site means very little to me.
However, I'd be interested to see what happens when BF2142 gets released.. maybe there will be a more structured ROE for that? Since EA likes to invasively advertise in our game so much, they could include a link to said ROE aswell. People would know when they've been wronged, and might actually report these bad servers instead of saying "wtf? that server was ****ing crap.. I'll find another anyway".
I wish this much consideration was given to our opinions regarding gameplay improvements. This just gives 16 year old spazes a place to play snitch. Completely pointless. How about a site that seriously organizes and rates community suggestions about the game. Nahhh that would be entirely to constructive for EA. It is like reacting to low test scores in a school district by saying, "well maybe if we expell children who get C's on tests we will have a higher district average." Make more improvments, link expansion packs to vanilla (the fact that Euro doesnt carry over into vanilla is rediculous) oh and how about this...brace yourself maybe some free content! oh my god!. How about a remake of DC_village and DC_Basras Edge. Something for the love of god.
Wow... just the nerve of some people... Why are you insulting the developers of this new site and flaming them? Theyre doing something good for the community and all you do is say "OMFG Leave your crap to yourself" And besides, this isnt another "Crybaby" website... This site is very helpful and you probably cannot make any fake accusations without proof that they did it. And please, dont assume that this site is "Worthless" "Crappy" or whatever else you guys can insult with. These folks are trying to help us and keep the game fair for all of us... Sure, EA's rules can be broken very easily and that's their fault. So blame it on them... not the BFROE site thats TRYING to lower the rate of the crap going on in the game.
that is what i dont like about this site - that we are supposed to be generous and happy because someone is TRYING. i care about results, and i cant see any promise of results.
for one, i think, that this site has no probability to succed. bf2rs didnt, why a new site should? the same people, but with yet another tag infront of their name. [that reminds me of 'being a CEO of a 1man 'corporation', just to be a CEO of a corporation]
there were countless reports of OBVIOUS server/admin abuses [no only the pistol/knife that i dont care about, but the worse - 'it is MINE chopper, i pay for server' type] and nothing was done
ROE are enforced on people, by a 3rd party organisation. most people dont know about them. and dont care about them. it is american speciality, that one [C] has to abide to sets of rules set between A and B. in other countries, we dont have to, and we dont.
and i think that it is the decoy, that should make those of us, that care, that something is being done. giving the same job to someone who failed first time is realy a great move.
if you want me to believe that something is going to change, dont play nitpicking and erasing peoples stats - most of grievers dont care about them, but ban them. nobodyhasthisnameyet has 7000 teamkills.. all accidents? ban him and never allow him play again. there are others..
I must say the ticket system concerns me. Its like being putting on trial with no right of defense.
Atleast at BF2RS we could see the BS being spun and have a right of reply. Once BF2RS got to see both sides of a situation then an informed decision could be made. Without that I can't see how an informed decision can be made. Its like only hearing 1 side of the story at a trial.
Not only that either site I think really don't make any difference, by that I mean its not their fault, we appreciate what they do but.... the ball is always in EA's court and with so many so called illegal servers still running to this day without any retribution then really what is the point? We have taken action against a clan member based on screenshots from BF2RS being caught stat padding on a knife/pistol server with an insane BRS of 789 and kicked him "instantly" from the clan based on 1 of the founders decision. Unusual for us because we normally would discuss something like this between all founders but no hesitation was made as it was black and white. Guess what 2 months later he still has his stats is still running around on knife/pistol servers, the server he frequents is still running and to top it all off his highest amounts of kills with any weapon now is the shock paddles. What is worse though he is still using our clan tags. He was reported by someone else and then tracked him later and also reported him. The result is he still has his stats so what's the point?
Not only that 4 of our "ex members" were busted in another knife/pistol server the other day which was brought to our attention, by some who I think were trying to bad mouth us until they heard from us that they were "ex members" Yet they are all still running around with our tags on. What will happen to them, again nothing. I'm not going to even bother reporting them based on what happened to the person above, absolutely nothing, why waste my time.
I know these sites are somewhat in our best interest but as I said its not their decision to make and the ball is in EA's court and it just goes to show to me they don't really care and these sites are nothing more than a failed PR attempt to give the whiners somewhere to attempt to get revenge.
Wow... just the nerve of some people... Why are you insulting the developers of this new site and flaming them?
Possibly a reading list for this topic should include 1984 as it can cover a great deal of the issues associated with the 'Big Brother' topic.
Certainly on this side of the pond the idea of big brother is a source of strong feeling and a backlash should have been totally expected and dealt with somewhat better than it has been, mainly by answering the countless points made so far in the news section and certainly not having been seen to only respond to an insult in this thread as that is never a precident to set.
It also covers trust, cant we the player or the server admins be trusted? For the vast majority who play straight we dont want/need someone looking over our shoulder watching our every move nor do want a situation that allows for that to be or for it to be sanctioned by EA.
Another thing is that requiring a police service for the game implys cheating and system abuse is widespread where as I dont think it is. Unfortunately that mud sticks to anyone associated to the only game of this type to be Policed in this way.
Also the notion of openess is confused, HKS has mentioned the ticket system but also the ROE discussion requires you register on the forum to see which doesnt make it open.
It is a unique system and unfortunately its existance implys something about the BF2 community that is not true.
As cool the stat system is so much it damages the game play,
As long it was for unlocks I was excited,
But now we have:
-stat padder ing
-whining about everything that affects stats
-stats not updating periodically
-anti stat padder whiners
-virtual police guarding the virtual reward system
-no new maps because no system setup but all mighty EA to add custom maps to the rankebility list
-websites for virtual snitching that reports data to the virtual stat police (like the site advertised here)
-laws governing the moral integrity of fair game play on the virtual battlefield
-not only 10x more snitchers then stat padders BUT people fighting over who will be the king of snitches (like the tread starter)
I think is FAR beyond the border of sad or funny
i think the right word I was looking for is pathetic
I HATE STATS in bf2
this is my opinion on the entire ROA/stat subject
The BF2 Rules of Engagement exist to make ranked servers a fair, balanced and consistent place to play on. The BF2 stat system wasn't only created for individual players to collect a personal set of statistics of their online adventure, but also created in order to create a competitive gaming environment for the average player (a toned down version of ladders and leagues). Additionally, the awards and unlocks add a replayability value to the game. There may be other reasons, but those are the ones that I am aware of
With that said, it should be clear why there need to be rules that must be enforced on ranked servers. Otherwise, there would no real purpose in a stat system if people could pad their way to the top. You may not care, but a gigantic chunk of this community does care.
Servers that break the ROE need to only do one thing, become unranked servers. If you're running a knife only server, why is making it unranked such a big deal? For one, you will end up paying less. Secondly, you allow other players on other servers to gain legit knife kills and compare each other on the leaderboard, etc.
Granted, bad apples always slip through. Given that that EA is not the NSA and we are not super secret spies sent out with bubble gum that turns into a mercedes with an Ion cannon on top of it, there is no way to detect every occurence of stat padding and ROE violation. However, those that are not caught are simply not causing a big enough dent in the stat system to notice. For instance, someone who trio-pads (medic+medic+medic, knifing and reviving) for a single round with his clan buddies will probably slip right on by -- but a single round of stat padding isn't going cause an imbalance in the leaderboards and overall stats.
If you have ever been on a server that was running just the right rotation of just the right map with just the right ping and just the right skill level of players -- only to be kick/banned for using Artillery because commanders are not allowed on that server, you will definitely see the value in what we are doing.
Our goal is to help EA keep the servers clean and allow the community to have a hand in doing so. We want to streamline the process of reporting bad servers and bad players to EA. We are not turning off any servers and we are not wiping any stats, that's the job of EA and the ranked server providers (yes, we are a ranked server provider, however relative to BFROE we are in the same shoes as all others). We exist to simply bridge the gap between player -> stat padder -> EA.
EA is doing this stuff anyway... we're just going to help them get it done faster and involve you guys in the process. What's bad? :)

Until they started the virtual policing department and they just here and there reset a few accounts with good reasons i might add - I WAS HAPPY
But this sh't is going to far, and they should not make changing the rules, to be more and more strict – that’s just wrong
Enforcing something or terrorizing the community those are 2 totally different things
You’re correct there is a chunk of the community that is happy what its become, you know there are people in the most restrictive countries of the planet that totally love it there, I lived in east Europe in the 80’s you know how many people loved that system for what it was and what it gave them (NOT ME)
You have to try keep every one happy not just a chunk of the community
