The simple solution is to make them destructable with grenades. That's it. That's all that needs to be done.

Clays (even as they are now) are hardly the end of the world. I get killed by clays maybe 3 or 4 times in a given session of playing. I get shot, arty'd and blown up by other various things far more often in that same time period. Clays are the least of my concern.

If it is so bugged that people can lay more than 2, it needs to be fixed. I haven't seen this though and I've tried several times myself to lay more in order to see what happens and the first always vanishes as soon as I lay the 3rd. EVERY TIME.

The only reason a clay defending a flag is any different from a soldier, tank, jeep, C4 etc defending it is the clay can't be triggered with a grenade. Let a grenade blow it up and the problem is solved.
yea and the clays then cant defend a position the sniper wants to protect, be it his or a specific route.

On a side note, I wish you could detonate AT mines with a nade.

I used to love doing that in JO.

I would plant AT mines then hide and throw frags at them to detonate them. Enemy vehicles wouldnt have to run over them, just drive within splash range of the mine.

I used the same tactic against infantry.

      Very effective and fun.

Teamwork is a solution that never gets mentioned with Claymores. Even before the patch when claymore spamming was everywhere, you could overcome areas defended by snipers, support and medics. The people complaining sound like individuals that don't work in teams, i.e. attack flags on thier own.

If you see city map (or any map) flags being guarded by claymores, it's pretty simple. A good squad with medics and snipers can clean out an area pretty quickly. It's a numbers game. Either have more people attacking a flag or well organized squad. Send people in waves. When the first goes off, toss grenades in the area then send a medic to revive. Keep making forward progress and set a couple of claymores along the way to ensure the enemy can't run back in and replace claymore. It's pretty easy to overrun an area.

Fine, make them destroyable, that won't stop me and the other sneaky snipers who actually hide their clays from getting free kills and you'll still come back and whine. Almost nobody looks around corners anyways....

Are you serious when you're saying this kind of crap (that and "headshots are never intentional" on another thread)??
You seem to really despise snipers for a reason or another...getting owned??
Try looking around corners/on top of ladders , moving and not sticking your little head out for 10 seconds at a time and they'll become much less of a nuisance

This will only be a problem for the morons who can't figure out how to hide a claymore with any sort of intelligence. If they leave it sitting right out in plain site, they deserve to have it blown up, defused, or otherise circumvented.

If they place it out of sight, then they will still get their kills. As someone else mentioned, even with being able to detonate them with explosives, myself and many other people who play sniper will still get kills by using our heads and placing them in areas where people don't notice.

when clays are used to protect a position, ie a ladder, to have them blow up by a grenade really takes the ****. maybe you forgot how bad it was?? commander spots you, someone comes to get you, sees the claymore so throws grenades up to blow the claymore and you have no protection.

dropping clays in obvious places is kinda daft, but there are so many stupid players that still run into them lol

                Re: solution for claymores ?

They have set FF off for them now anyway so what does it matter?
Umm THATs the problem, people place them everywhere and so teammates walk over them and they don't go off but when enemies do...BOOM!

Claymores are a suprise or "booby" trap essentialy, used as defense of an area, or defense of a hidden sniper. What is sooooo hard to understand about this?

A claymore is supposed to kill and someone, not pop open to offer beauty supplies and candy. In a battlezone you should be careful, proceed with caution, walk in crouch mode alot, sneak slowly up ladders, looking carefully around for clays. You shouldnt just run toward your objective, feet on fire, unless the situation calls for it. A tacical soldier is a "live" one, the rest of you end up like this.
Umm yeah, they were fine before because the only people that used claymores were snipers....to protect them.

Now snipers are the best at CQC....warlord and karkand....you can't use your eyes half the time, and even if you do you CANT go around because they are EVERYWHERE. I mean, you can advance cautiously on karkand....if you want to die insantly. You can advance caustiously....it makes no difference, clays are everywhere and facing every direction. Forget defusing with engineers...

Actually at this point the ability to kill a claymore with a grende has been REMOVED, i am happy with the removal of that feature.
Why? Why are you happy? So now everyone on the other team at karkand can futily throw themselves at your clays and so you rack up kills?

There is no way to capture the hotel flag on karkand without people sacrificing themselves to the claymore gods so they can advance. Its plain stupidity....

It wouldn't be so bad if you only saw clays in open areas (where NO snipers are actually sniping) once in a while, but they are EVERYWHERE on karkand, and the warlord hotel too.

All you need is one friend that is a medic. He stays out of the blast radius and revives you as you "clear" the area of claymores.
But you can claim the medic is a counter to anything anti infantry. But thats just not true.

Most of the time medics aren't there when you need them and even if they do follow you around, do you honestly want to plan a strategy around getting yourself killed revived killed revived killed revived a hundred times over just to take a flag?

                You must be insane...

                  Re: solution for claymores ?

I rarely place them on ladders because I rarely snipe from rooftops. Again, placing them in an obvious spot, they deserve to be destroyed. If someone MUST place one there, it is usually pretty obvious when someone blows it up.... Unless you are waaaay on the other side of the roof.

Trust me, I like the clays as they are now, but I also would't mind them being destructable by explosives. Like I said, I'll still get my kills with them, but maybe it would stop so many people from complaining about running into the ones that are in plain site and getting killed.

Please understand. Intensivdumbass is the village idiot. He shows up in every sniper thread, spews his crap, and then leaves. He's a troll, that's all. Plus, as you've already noted, he has no idea what he's talking about.

The claymores are fine for the kit they are in. I rarely see snipers racking up the points medics, assault, support players can rack up. I think they should not change the claymores at all....if you run into one....respawn and keep playing.

yes offcourse, maybe they should give claymores the biggest splashdamage of all weapons, making it like artilery or something,

I know you want something to replace your sad beeing, and you would like it to be claymores so you and your low powered brain can place massice claymores all over because you aren't able to do anything else

Perhaps a little dramatic there. I have yet to play on a server where it was impossible to move because of too many claymores on karkand.

Moving on, I still see people discussing the "brain power" it used to take to place claymores. There never was and never will be any skill involved in placing a claymore. There was no skill involved before with FF. If someone thinks they used to need skill to place them, then they are sorely mistaken. I just want to reiterate that point. If you think it used to require "skill" to set a claymore down and now it doesn't then you are a retard. The only thought required before was "Will people travel here?" You have no way to control which people (friendlies or enemies) travel there. No skill required, just a level of common sense that my 8 year old son possesses. Do claymores require skill now? No, but then again they never did so get over that argument.

Also, claymores thrown should NOT arm if the sniper that tossed them is dead.
These noob suicide rushes just to throw 1 gaymore are really lame.
