claymores don't hurt your team mates now and so finally they can actually be of use for somthing.
I'm not being rude but you shouldn't really be posting if the dont know how claymores work in current versions of BF2.

the claymore isnt the only one with FF off so has the AT mine for the same reason.

Quite obviously DICE thought it was a pity that the claymore and AT mine wasn't being used hardly at all becuase of the amounts of tk's people were getting so they turned FF off with them to remedy it.

If there was another way to make them useable weapons id be all for it but there isn't.

at the guys saying it's all right now, just answer me this question ,

why may one weapon have FF of and the other weapons don't ??

your answer will be, becaue it's got me TK's , well, sorry, but every weapon used the wrong way will give you TK's .

for example, before this was going on, I had 60h of playing sniper or something, used myclaymores and I rarely got TK's, this was just the point, then you had to use your brain, where to put them and where not.

also Claymores are for defending you as sniper, so when sniping, it isn't the meaning you are surounded with teammates, for starting, and if you are, well, then you don't need the claymores, because your teammates are there to defend you.

          Re: solution for claymores ?

i never really cared that my claymores caused TK's. Why? Well because there is that silly little skull with crossbones that means "hey dude, be careful around these parts, friendly deployments are around". So if that really wasnt enough to deter my team from manuvering around, well they deserved to die, even more proven when i recieve a punish for thier stupidity.

Rombaft, you never answered, or i missed your reply to what maps you are having problems with claymores in.

There isnt anything wrong with someone being a human shield and detonating a claymore, yes it is lame, and unrealistic, but its a dynamic of the game and should be used since these oh so evil little claymores just cant be stopped. *giggle*

If you are an engineer and you simply cannot get behind a claymore, or manuver around them to reach your objective, well sounds like you are simply **** out of luck, which isnt too uncommon in the battlefield. War is hell....not a picnic where everything is solved with ease.

You could hang out and wait for the sniper who laid the mines to die as well, which also isnt too uncommon, i believe your wait time upon thier death is at tops 2 minutes, until the kit disappears.

          Yes? No?

              Re: solution for claymores ?

My only complaint with claymores is that they are invincible. I should be able to blow them up with a grenade.

Since the patch I have changed my style of play slightly. You just have to think. Think about what flags are taken and, if you were a sniper, where would be the best place to put a claymore. Then, you just avoid that path.

Seriously, most of the people I see get blown up by claymores run STRAIGHT to the next flag. If you just go around and flank the flag, claymores become a non issue.

I have died way more by claymores now than before the patch, but it hasn't become ridiculous.

But, again, my only complaint is if I HAVE to go somewhere and I am by myself and I am being blocked by a claymore I can't just toss a grenade in there and blow it apart. I have to find a completely different way to get there, which is sometimes impossible and always ridiculous.

But yeah, keep friendly fire off for them so that people can actually use them.

And everyone here knows that the FF option is a server admins choice as well? there are servers out there that are more than happy to let claymores tear the flesh from friendlies.

If thats something your into, sounds as if you have some searching to do.

FF off has improved the game 75% in my opinion.

karkand for starting but the wurst is on warlord, this is a great map who is now completely ruined , also sharki

waiting for the sniper isn't a solution, for starting this requires spawnraping, and secondly he is probaly hiding somewhere till he gets the message he killed someone, then he wil come out of his shell to put some more clays.

also don't start he only has two, there are more then enough ammo bags around.

what I also hate, due to the uber splash damage, you spot a claymore, you start walking back, teammate rushed true, triggers it, and takes you down with it.

2 weapons have ff of one is a clay other is a mine!!!

claymore's are handy for defending ur ass but were not made for that sole purpose.they have other offensive means aswell.

creating a choke point that forces the team to go around, just like a mine does,or a c4 trap.
this is war you dont get fredom of any map,ppl can put a clay where they want.

i have never been killed by some one drop a clay at my feet, dam send some led in the target!!! a sniper in close combat should be easy work,i take them out with my pistol,so pkm or somthing would do the job faster.

how many thread's have u started on claymore's ?? give it a rest and die on the battlefield with hounor.

no as for unstoppable, the j-10 is!!! plz how do u stop it from killing everything on the ground? unless you're a pilot.

a clay can only kill 1 person maybe 2 at one time, meanwhile the game continues as normal.

a few clays probaly wont make a diference during a round, but a j10 will make a big diffence.

please stop complaining about the sniper kit,it is this way for a reason

1.to be used anyway you like
2.ff-off so it can be used and not tk.
3.EA decided the sniper kit should have claymore's
                    4.will continue to use them.

pre 1.2 i never used them due to tk,now when i only use sniper its annoying to have somthing in youre kit witch is a danger to youre own team.

now at last i can use it with a freedom like never before.
now the problem with that most ppl(non sniper) are to familiar with clays being on top of ladders and behind sniper's but now with ff-off they are finding them in allsorts of places and getting killed.

and they find it annoying to the point, they want to make threads and complain about it.

                    ================================================== ==
(sing like monty python "im a lumberjack and im ok" )

im a sniper and i clay all day,
                    i snipe all night,
and thats the way i play.

                    i lay a clay,
                    then run away,
                    to defend a flag,
and ther's nothing you can say.

                    its in my pack,
                    dont care for knife attack.

better to get a kill in my bag,
and help the team defend a flag.

in pre 1.2 all i did was tk,
clay was in me kit,but it had to stay away

in 1.22 i can finaly use my kit,
but alot of ppl die & have a screming fit.

as im a sniper i simply think its fine,
                    but alot of ppl moan!!!

                    now what about the mine??????

                    ^somthing to smile about :)

Ammo bags or not, in 1.22 a sniper can lay ONLY 2 claymores down, if he lays more than 2 the first clay he deployed poofs into thin air, just like if you try to lay down more than 5 AT mines, the 6th mine deployed makes the first mine deployed dissappear, so sir rombaft i will start with "he can only lay 2 down" all i want, lol.

i agree that the urban maps should not have clays deployed within limits, or snipers running around far within the context of the city. but modern day warfare is anything but conventional, especially when you get into armies such as MEC, and PLA who have little or no concern for wartime "fairplay". If anything these armies are dirtiest of the dirty, and should play the role of the sneaky, slimy snake.

i barely play SF so i am unfamiliar with the issue on Warlord with the claymores at the palace, maybe if i did, my tune would be a tad different, but i doubt it, because i play ALOT of Karkand, and they are fairly similar(given the un-enterable buildings and what not).

Anyone watch the "Battlefield2 in Real Life" video series? With the issue of claymores being addressed, it is rather amusing, but not very true to the current situation. I am by no means an uber player, but i have about 10 months in the game, and the only time claymores became noticed by me, i am saying noticed not recognized as a problem, was when you could deploy 5 at a time. Other than that i rarely die from claymores, out of my almost 11,000 deaths i believe only around a hundred of those are from claymores. I travel all the same paths as you do im sure, so what is the deal? Why are you suffering and i am not?

pal, read, first off all, the only two claymores is bugged, most of the time you can place more, second, they place them, hide, wait untill they get kill message, then resuplie and place them again

I know this is a whole nother ball of wax, but why dont they just turn friendly fire off for everything? No more idiots laying down in front of jets, no more "accidental" grenade kills, no TK's!! Sure, sure, its not realistic, but neither is this whole game. Real claymores can kill guys from a football field away in real life.

Real claymores are usually command-detonated, as well.
I've yet to see a game implement them that way, though.

                              Re: solution for claymores ?

Real clays have a variety of ways to be detonated.

Must this same topic be posted over and over and over????

The simple solution is to make them destructable with grenades. That's it. That's all that needs to be done.

Clays (even as they are now) are hardly the end of the world. I get killed by clays maybe 3 or 4 times in a given session of playing. I get shot, arty'd and blown up by other various things far more often in that same time period. Clays are the least of my concern.

If it is so bugged that people can lay more than 2, it needs to be fixed. I haven't seen this though and I've tried several times myself to lay more in order to see what happens and the first always vanishes as soon as I lay the 3rd. EVERY TIME.

The only reason a clay defending a flag is any different from a soldier, tank, jeep, C4 etc defending it is the clay can't be triggered with a grenade. Let a grenade blow it up and the problem is solved.

nice, a thread about claymores.....now i can say my schpiel

claymores right now, in their state SUCK!!
i seem to be the only person taking the time to place claymores tactfully, where they cannot be easily spotted, and are facing high-traffic, or important areas....
ppl now just place them blatently in plain sight in the middle of an entry for example, just obnoxiously denying anyone passage, this causes ppl to either A. seek alternate route, or B. take a hit for the team to gain entry.
more times than not, they will seek another way, in a sense costing the idiot placing the claymore the kill.
if claymores could be destroyed by other explosives, or enough bullets would be the ideal solution. ppl then would have to place claymors more carefully, hidden, or out of sight, otherwise it would be a waste. i hate seeing an entry that is about 10m wide, and has a single claymore standing boldly in the middle of it, in plain sight denying anyone passage, i think its lame, and accomidating to those who dont take the time/care to lay it tactfully, something that n00bs can score easy kills with.....unnacceptable, using tact was someting i liked this game for, nerfing everything, or making them invincible is just poor/lack of consideration, and takes away from any skill, or tact that should be required to survive, and succeed
