I think the adjustments made to the flashbang were bad though, what they should have done is left the range of effect (radius) as is but reduced the blind effect. When the flash goes off next to you your blind for about 2 or 3 minutes its ridiculous. It would be far better to blind a large area for a shorter time, more useful and less infuriating.
No offense to anyone that plays as Assault most of the time (I play it some myself), but when you compare the Medic class to the Assault class, what advantages are there besides the nerfed (well, ALMOST nerfed) nube toob and a lame smoke grenade?
The noob tube does still work pretty well, and the smoke grenade may provide a little bit of cover if you need it, but besides those two things, what good is the Assault class even going to do you?
The Medic class offers the ability to heal and revive teammates, while packing you with an assault rifle that's nearly as good (if not, JUST as good) as the one the Assault class gets (minus the noob tube, that is.)
This means you're not only helping out the team, but you're getting TONS of points in the process, which come from healing, reviving, AND killing!
I know that this is a pretty common-sense-type argument that's been around pretty much since BF2 has been released, but now with the toning down of the noob tube, I just figured I'd bring it up again to see what everybody thinks... I've been wondering about this for a little bit now, and I honestly can't see any reasons at all to choose the Assault class over the Medic class.
Have you tried the g3? That gun rocks. It only has a 20 shot clip. But two rounds into your chest, and your insides are on display for the world to see...

When will you ppl learn that unlocks are bad m'kay there for pubnubs only...
I was extremy satisifed to get gold on karkand yesterday playing with SRAW and MP5 only...
Note: SMG's are my prolly worst weapon besides sniper
If they help you get kills easier, why NOT use them?
Because you are just fooling youself and not improving your personal skill level. Dont worry its human nature to take the easist path of least resistance

It doesn't really take as much skill as it does luck, though.
The weapons that aren't unlocks are generally less accurate and powerful than the unlocks, therefore making it harder to kill the other person not due to skill, but due to less powerful weapons.
I don't see how that takes skill away. You still die in the same amount of shots... and everything around you is still just as deadly.
Well... The assault class is very useful for when theres a group of guys that are cappin a flag.... Launch a nade up there, kill off a couple guys... then rush up there with M16, G3, F2000, AK101 and finish them off... Or even better, smoke em, nade em, then rush em... I finished off a whole squad of 6 capping the hotel flag. It is useful, but not many people play it but if you know how to use usefully in a squad.. it can be a big help.
Am I the only one who likes the F2000? It is very accurate for me and I regularly snipe people blocks away on karkand, when I play assault class.
perhaps if you want to give it a real use, give the vanilla assault class the gappling hook from SF. The role of the assault class would then go from just run and gun to picking out spots for the crew to snipe from or assaulting snipers without having to use ladders or hitting enemy positions like that wall by the suburb in Karkand without using stairs. I think it would be really fun to have grappling hook in BF2 vanilla. I love coming from an unexpected angle and killing people.
As for the flashbang, it can be useful if you use it correctly. say you need to assault that warehouse on karkand (The one with the vodnik that sits in front) spam flashbangs and while the enemy is blind, rush them. Sure it takes teamwork like suppression fire and you'll probably need 2 or 3 assault kits to fill place but it could work.
as for the stock guns side issue that's coming up, I actually find the M4 (marine's spec op default gun) better than either the g36c or the SCAR-L and I usually use it over either of them.
