Re: Im Sick Off Bf2 Restarting My Pc!!!!!!

hi, i havnt tried the ram thing yet, i have a 400 watt power supply,

I have seen on another forum, someone had the same problem, and it was because he had a motherboard with a build in Vnidia something and a radeon graphics card, and that made it restart, he then bought a new motherboard without a nvidia thing on it and it worked fine, but minot sure if i want to spend like 100 pound on a motherboard and that isn't the problem i have already spend 200 pounds on ram anda card for bf2!.

to be honest i think its my pc overheating not sure what part of the pc but i think its that. but how to i cool it down more becasue i have a fan on my processor a fan on my graphics card and a fan on the side of the case.

Take the side panel off the PC and aim a house fan toward the inside of the unit. If your problems diminish or go away, you know your system is too hot.\

      ps
Having an ATI video card runnng on an nVida mobo chipset has nothing to do with performance or stability.

If you are getting the error -IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL- then it is a driver issue only.

You would just use the house fan as a test to see if stability returns once additional cooling is provided. If it is overheating, I suspect it is just because of dust build-up around the heat sinks and fan edges. Cleaning them will lower temps by about 10*C is they are dirty.

              Something I came across.
Try clearing your DMP file and your LOGO CACHE files.

Most of the time with newer systems it will start beeping at you if it was a temp problem.

I bet you $10 its your ram speed, your prolly using mismatch sticks,(pc2100,pc2700, or pc3200) which would default your ram speed to which ever 1 is the lowest.
Could be wrong though I doubt it.

okay first I dont think you answered :1. are you doing any overclocking at all? if you answer YES, go to question 2, if NO skip to 4

                        2. what settings is everything at for the overclock?
                        3. what voltages?

                        4. take a program like ATi tool, and run it for like 20 minutes, or until it crashes again. if it crashed its something like Heat, if not then something else probably.

it can also be a power supply problem. just answer those 3 or 4 i posted cuz Im wondering something.

I telling you this is an ATI driver conflict w/ the game. this is happening to to many people. I have tried eveything listed above & then some. I blame EA & DICE ! Do a search on it & you will find we are not alone ! I have been dealing w/ this issue for over 6 months now & it happens so random. Sometimnes 2 or 3 times in a night & sometime it does not happen for weeks at a time & I play a min. of 3-5 hours a night EVERY DAY !!! and it seem to be alot of 9800Pro people having this prob.

Unisole you really did not have to post the same comment twice, it is rather annyoing to switch back and forth between the two, maybe a moderator can merge them.

Or maybe you should delete or lock one.

my friends PC would restart everytime he would try and play a game.

turned out his processor was over heating...the heatsink was clogged with dust. took it apart, cleaned it up. no problems since.
