Im Sick Of This Restarting Bussiness! Every Single Time I Play Bf2 My Pc Randomly Restarts And Its ****ing Me Off Also It Sometimes Just Quit Me To The Desktop, But Not As Much Now Just Restarting My Pc, To Start Off I Had A Radeon 9200 256mb Of Ram Card, And 512 Ddr Ram, I Thought It Might Be The Ram Or I Need A Better Card, So I Bought An Extra Gig So Now I Have 1.5 Gig Of Ram, And Then I Bought A Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb Card, Put Them Both In Months Ago, And The Same Problem! What Is The Problem? It Might Be Overheating People Have Said But I Have Loads Of Fans In There.

10 Pound To There Paypal Account If They Can Solve My Problem And I Get It Fixed.

Crash to desktop = software glitch.

Hard Crash = Power supply

Did you forget to plug in the heatsink fan?

Do you have a lot of wires running everywhere inside your case. Do you have ANY fans in there at all?

that wouldnt casue TOO much heat, and teh heatsink fan comes plugged in already.


it could be your PSU yes, how many watts is it?
it can also be things like overclocking problems, or RAM problems in general.

As most of you who posted might have read i am gathering info on an IRQ conflict hypothesis.

Could you (Unisole) post if you note any IRQ sharing between your video card slot, sound card slot, other pci slots, or usb controllers. To find out go though device manager look for the resourses tag on each of the above components, scroll down the list until it says IRQ = x.

I have the restarting issues and i am fairly sure it is not my psu, the voltages are all rock steady and there should be enough watts. My temp is also low so thats not my issue either, but Unisole if you could check your irqs and report that back i would like to know. thanks

Too much heat will either "lag" , "lock up" , "artifact your world".

Ok I agree a hard crash could be other things but highly doubtfull that he is having any shorts or grounding issues's.

Have you tried a different plug in the house or a different surge protector.

I was having the same problems with my computer.
I tried every driver/ bios flash/ chipset driver.
Eventually I unistalled BF2 and reinstalled and it's smooth sailing.

I have a 9800 pro and my machine does this @ random also. sometimes 2 or 3 times a night , sometimes it runs fine for weeks. it's definatly not a power supply or ram issue. i have replaced both. It has something to do with the game not your machine. If you do a gogle search you will find that alot of ATI users have this same problem so you are not alone . good luck on finding a fix ! & iam sure that EA & Dice are aware of this to , but still have not found a fix

Hang on to your 10 bucks, you might need it. To figure out exactly what is causing the problem, you need an error report. But you don't have one because it keeps rebooting when it encounters an error. So you need to set the PC to display an error message instead.

Right click on My Computer and select Properties. Now select the Advanced tab. Click on the Settings button under Startup and Recovery. There, deselect the check box that says Automatically Restart. Click OK all the way out.

Now when the problem happens, you will have a blue screen with an error message to research.

Erm i dont know if ive pluged in the heatsink fan :S i just bought the pc 2 years ago and lpayed, how do i kno if its plugged in or not

What other hardware do you have in the pc? Have you tried taking out the 512mb ram and running the 1 gig? Just to be sure if it is the new ram? Have you tried the card in another machine? What is your power supply rated? Do you have a temp sensor you use for the cpu?
