About once a month for the next year, we are gonna see threads like this. My advice is simple, You get out of the game what you put in the game. Ok.
I can see how its boreing if you play that one map on that one server all the time. I surf my server list, and try to get on the server with the lowest ping running 64 player maps. Sometimes there are 20 players and sometimes the full 64. I dont care, Its a big challenge. I rarely play the same server two days in a row. Unless Im trying to get revenge on someone . Even then I just wanna get in the last kill. Kinda like getting in the last word. Anyway, I believe that your boredom is your fault.
The short version is like that one lady host on that game show said "And you are the weakest link, Goodby"! . . . . . .Red

Hehe, mixing up servers may help, but I don't think it's nessasary.
I've been chronic on the R2 server, rarely playing anywhere else (unless going for an award since the compition is stiff there!). I haven't gotten bored yet.

Thing is, I'm big on the teamwork aspects. Actually playing with people keeps it interesting. Changing up roles often helps too. I've done just about everything there is in BF2 (some things better than others), but I still find myself focusing on different things during different sessions.

Lately, I've been a complete and utter command whore. Fortunatly, the regulars on the server seem to apreisate my command skills so no one gets bent outta shape over it.

As far as getting tired of the game goes, ya Im growing tired of it. I was in a full 64 man karkand server and ended up 84 kills and 11 deaths absolutley owned. But the thrill of getting that just wasnt there for me. I remember when starting to play how absolutley awesome it was using the TV guided int he choppers and laser guided in the bombers but the thrill has just gone from that also. So my brother got me back into Star Wars Galaxies for now. Maybe Ill get back into BF in a week or so.

EA is just doing a lousy job of patching it... Everyone is losing intrest because of bugs and whatnot. Anyways.. . EA doesnt care at all... They got our money... and they move onto a new game... From sources... they tell me that only 8 guys are in the patch development department... See how EA doesnt give a crap about patches and Customer Service?

Pubbing DOES get boring, try a league or tourny like mentioned before. The game is played the way its meant to be and its quite enjoyable, points mean nothing.

60 man battles twice a week lasting ten hours each, 8 armies each with around 100 active players in each army.

It will cure your boredom, this game is fun.

since no League in Europe is realy Supporting BF2 and there are no Cups running, most of the Teams did simply disappear and some Teams did disappear cause of the Bugs, Balancing problems and other BF2 issues.

If you believe that BF2 is dying, then in your mind it will be dying. I personally think it is doing fine. SF and EF might not be doing as hot, but vanilla is looking hot to me. Maybe you should try something new since you seem to be wore out. Taking a break from a game is the best remedy. Take a month or two off from BF2 then come back to it. It will make it a whole lot better. This is what I do.

I remember playing in karkand the very first time now THAT was fun...........now theyve catered to all the whining newbies

I played on that server alot to hone my skills and reflexes. The players there are really good...most are atleast staff/gunnery sgt. All noobs get owned no matter how lucky they get.

By no means have I played all my time there, on that server. Past few weeks I have played alot of clan servers running all maps. I have played alot of SF and dabbled with the night maps abit. I like karkand and sharki the most because I hate maps with planes. I used that server to help me get various badges also....namely the medic and support badges....ie resupply and heal/revive.

For me to achive my next rank I would have to gain 30k more points. That's like 2.5 times as many points as I have achieved so far. I took something like 250 hours or so to get first sgt. It seems rediculous to me to I would have to get alot more than that for the next rank . I'm not gonna whine on about it, but it's boring. Apart from gaining super hard badges and possibly joining a clan, the game itself offers no more challenges. I've spent loads of time in teams and not many players want to play as a proper team. ie squad sticks together with a player of each type/class...with the exeption of assault and sniper perhaps. It's all just points related.

Points system made and killed the BF2 series at the same time. Players may understand the logic behind this when they progress to higher ranks.

Instead of mindless patching, EA should make a definite patch. Players are always gonna whine about how they got their fav gun nerfed, or how this guy complelty owned them from miles away with a carbine etc etc. I say make the guns as realistic as possible. Enhance the guns advantages so there is a reason for playing each class. Take the points structure out and replace it with a new system without points focused towards teamplaying and winning rounds. EA dare not drastically change BF2 too much becuase they have made too much money, and secondly they don't have the resources to fix it all if it all goes horrible wrong...which it probably would do knowing EA's previous background regarding patching.

Battlfield:1942 did not have a objective/ranking system, and I still play it to this day. Its been what? 4-5 years now?

I never though of BF2 as a game to get awards and sparkly medals, and barely even to get unlocks mainly because they are not able to be used in match play. The whole Battlefield series was always teamwork and fun to me. Reaching to be the top clan in TWL DC leauge was more gratifing to me than trying to get a high rank in BF2 will ever be.

I have no respect for clans who put others' down because of thier stats and ranks.

Most of the high rankers fall into the "whore" catgory. Not to long ago I had the chance to play with some of the so-called "pros" from that X-fire promotion... Non of them had real skill, they would camp with the helicopters, TK/taxi to them even, C4 spammed, and never, ever had to aim a gun at someone to shoot them.

Having 3 clan members on, we all joined the sever and whooped thier asses. once we took out the commander and his toys, we stole all of thier aircraft and cap'ed thier bases.

What did they do the next round? Kick us, they didn't want to be embarrased by 3 "noobs" again with all of the X-fire community watching.

We, I got a bit off topic in places, but you need to remember that BF2 is not about ranks and rewards, but rather Teamwork, friends, and fun.

I don't know what fairy game you're playing. But to me BF2 is about blowing your freaking head off.

Ever play in a recorded clan match with the leading clans? You have to almost start fireing before you make the bend. And if you miss on the first 2 shots, your better off commiting suicide instead of letting them hunt you down or pinning you down on the roof tops that you know you can't jump down from.

I get more butterflys in my stomach from a clan war then from playing in a playoff ice hockey game. :laugh:

My friend has a global score of about 7000.. its taken him over 6 months to get there.. and hes about what. like 90000th in the world? What happened to the other 1.131 million people? A LOT of people I knew at the beginning have left..

BF2 feels old to me, and when bf2142 comes, I'm getting that. It's time to leave Karkand behind :salute:
