Alright for all of you experienced players out there, I am new to Battlefield 2. My favorite map to play is Strike at Karkand. I have a choice to get an upgraded weapon and I want to know from all of you veteren players what weapon you think would be the best to rack up the most points on this level. Thanks.

seems like everyone is getting killed with the pkm lately
ive yet to really get to play since 1.2 patch came out so i cant really say much for it

I use standard weapons 90% of the time I find it more rewarding when you own a PKM guy with a M16Comment

The answer to your question is difficult mate. Bottom line... if you are good infantry then the G36E medic lock is powerful and and accurate with 3 **** bursts.
The PKM is also powerful if you like to play support.
Best all rounder... and good for learning with... spec ops upgrade - G36C.

The PKM is still probably the deadliest combo for noobs even with 1.22. I mean you get to run around with:
A. lots of bullets
B. an accurate weapon (when fired CORRECTLY)
C. heavy damage
D. a kit with armour
That being said...I would unlock for whatever kit you like to play the most.Comment

If you like close combat, the P2000 rocks. If you like blowing tanks up with c-4, the spec ops weapon kicks. If you play mainly on Karkand, then do not unlock your sniper rifle. That is great against snipping Helo pilots:laugh: , I've done it a couple of times already.
The eng shotgun is already cool at close combat and the AT unlock is ok, but mainly you want those tanks and not solders. Hopes this helps.

Now that you can't snipe as effectively with the PKM post 1.21, I am becoming a big fan of the G3...again. It kicks arse in close quarters and is very accurate in single shot mode for long range sniping.Comment

I can only offer opinions on the two kits that I have logged the most time on:
Spec-Ops: G36c(IMHO)
Sniper: This is hard, b/c each rifle has its uses.
M24: Good all around
M95:Excellent stopping power at medium range, shoots through glass.
L9: A little more accurate than the M24, but almost equal in all aspects.
Now for the Semi-autos....
The Semi-Autos are Excellent for providing ranged suppresive fire....make em keep their heads down.Comment

G36E, it's the most deadly weapon I've used. The PKM is a good powerful weapon but I don't like it for Karkand because it shoots slow. You're better off with the Special Forces unlock MG36 for Karkand, if you're a support kind of guy.Comment
