Ground Defense + Armor Badges

Ok, I have recently put off getting the awards, but now I am back at it. I just got the Basic Knife Badge this morning (damn, easier than I thought lol) and I am now after the Basic Ground Defense and Armor Badges. To get the Ground Defense it says I need 5 minutes. What constitutes Ground Defense? I am thinking that it is the stationary MG guns on walls and such. Am I correct? Secondly, what constitutes Armor? I know tanks do, but do APC and Anti-Air as well? Just don't want to waste my time doing something I don't have to do.

ground defence = mounted machine gun or TOW

armor = tanks and apc

sit in a tow for 5 minutes and u will get it.

best place to get the basic ground defense badge is on karkand as american at the american main base where the armor is. there's a mounted machine gun there, and you don't really have to worry about getting killed. plus you're back there for the enemies that like to try and sneak back there and destroy command assets.

yeah...that one is rediulous. i mean, who sits in those things, just to sit in them. i get on a mounted mg, or a tow only when i need to now. i will probably never get 15 hrs on one.

I try to sit in a TOW while I command... or an AA gun if there aren't a lot of choppers or airplanes around.

That way, I can accrue times without getting people mad.

If you are commander you can usually find one in the back, just sit in it while you do your commander stuff. Eventually it adds up.

got the ground defense sitting in the LMG @ the Square on Karkand, right after the USMC took the hotel...

For armor, killing infantry in an APC works just as well. And for Air Defense (didnt check if you had this one yet) - a Linebacker vs. Infantry will get u the kills required also..

Wait, you're saying you don't have to shoot down planes/helo's to get the AA badge? Just kills in general? I never even took the time to think about that.
I was thinking I would have to play Daqing Oilfields a few times and just sit and wait in a Linebacker for aircraft.
