I had a thought last night in relation to static AA in uncap bases. Why not make them indestructible, not only that like the Essex where you are actually go inside and can't be hit by anything. I would like that approach. Rather than a second of plane mg gun fire and they blow and you die, a mg or bombs and even arty wouldn't hurt them.

Now people might camp in them but so what it wouldn't worry me, it would make planes and helis think twice about attacking uncaps.

    What do you think?

No, I don't like the idea, but I think the Essex AA should have more armor, right now 2 seconds of cannon fire and it's toast, unless you know exactly where the enemy jet is coming from you have no chance to retaliate against a good pilot.

So aside from all the nonsense more MoblieAA maybe take away a few stinger sites, everyone happy.

If you're judging based on 64-player Oman, you're not making a good comparison at all. 64-player Oman has a ton of it, 32-player has one at base and something like 4 on the mid points. The 2 on the beach are just about worthless because they're blocked so badly and more distant targets get lock broken from the trees and ruins.

Not only that, but blowing through a point and winding up in another target's range relies on having both of those two points AND having both of them ready. Ideal circumstances that don't work well in practice.

I'd love to know what magical button you're pushing on the AA guns that makes them go through a bunch of flares and hit jets anyway when half the time they don't hit WITH a lock if they're fired too late.

Secondly, there is something else you need to realize about those maps that don't have mobile AA, they have an insane number of static AA sites. I should have mentioned this earlier, but the relationship between static AA and jets is very much like that between AT soldiers and tanks. One AT soldier can take out a tank, but it takes a good deal of work; it is much easier for several AT to work together and kill the tank. The maps without mobile AA have so much static AA that when used together they create a fairly large area of continuous coverage. When you team a few of these sites up, the static AA becomes a very effective jet killer, just like teaming up several AT soldier's against tanks. Personally I don't care which way they go. If they want to add some mobile AA to those maps, fine; although I think it would require taking out a few of the static AA sites on those maps for balance.
And amazingly, read the very first post of mine. I'll give you a hint, it's under solutions.

In essence, yes, jakswan that's exactly the thoughts.
