A lot of people have been whining about the PKM.
Now I'll preface this by saying i just recently recieved my silver support badge, yippe! I saved you the trouble of looking up my stats.
Anywho, so what about this thing called the PKM. Is it accurate from range? Yup. Does it hurt? Yup. Can it nuke? Sadly no. The PKM is a powerful weapon, but from watching carefully at exactly who i am killing I am noticing a trend in those that I kill and those that kill me.
Those that I kill:
1. They tend to stand up to shoot me when Im shotting at them
2. They run into the open instead of running for cover
3. When i shoot them at their sniping spot they dont change positions but pretend that if they wait 5 seconds that Ill "go away"... fat chance.
4. They think of the road as cover
5. When I shoot them from behind they dive to the ground rather than running for a new spot or looking at what theyre shooting at
6. They tend to run out into the open without looking both ways
7. They stop moving
Those that kill me:
1. They choose positions with multiple areas of cover
2. They hide behind cover and semi auto shoot at me at their conveyence
3. They throw a grenade
4. When I shoot at their sniping spot they move instead of sitting there
5. They do not BONZAI CHARGE at me.
6. Theyre always moving
In that sense the PKM (and from using other support weapons) and support in general does a very good job of making people find cover and watching where they go. Move through an open street at your own risk. Better idea is to poke your head out look for enemy and kill what you need to before running. I dont own a G3 in an open standing fight (if the g3 is not a spray and pray), i only "own" when I'm in a covered position with a small field of vision with a high concentration of players.
That said it should also be noted that my PKM kills are not as great as I would like to think. Contrary to popular belief, my weapon of choice whilst support is not the PKM but the hand grenade. I know where good spots are and i place the grenades in them. I know how to bounce the grenade to make it go where i want, and how to finagle those tricky corners and roofs.
Yet that still does not net me an incredible score. Just PKM and grenade launching is not enough. So how DO people get those great scores? It's quite simple actually; they know how to use everything at their disposal and available to them to their advantage. (and that means playing more than one kit). But thats for you to figure out (top score tonight 105, 45 kills, 12 deaths, kits: Med, Engi, Support, Spec, Sniper, no armor).
I can get a great score with medic, spec, or support (no longer Assault QQ'ers nerfed it). But when will the whining end? Assault is now useless thanks to you. You want support to go the same way, and then what? Medic, since you can run around shooting and healing yourself? Then spec ops maybe- wait we already did that with c4 chucking? Get rid of claymores and make snipers crazy vulnerable?
You whiners like to think that the players that do better than you only do so becuase they whore some kit. Maybe they're just better than you? Maybe they know how to use what's available to them and you dont? Hard concept? My best rounds come when i use the largest variety of kits; it's not a coincidence.
