Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
My friends don't have SF. They say they don't want to spend the money on something they heard sucks. I preach and preach about the great fun of SF, but to no avail. I think EA an Dice have ruined thier reputation, so people are wary about buying more stuff from them.
I have ocasionally had some lag in choppers in SF but it seems to come and go. Usually I get smooth as silk framerates and only sometimes its choppy when you are in a helo, but I mostly play for the infantry action. I don't like iron gator since the 1.2 patch since the seals can shoot down your helo before it takes off, but otherwise I have no complaints.
In fact I will be playing SF more now that I got EF don't like it.
Actually quite enjoy it......my only gripe is the Assault SAS get the F2000, Seals get the SCAR H and the Spetz get the AK 101.......surely RL spetz use something better than a stock standard AK!!!
I am a SF players, so I have to say something about it here, to be fair to the players and EA/DICE.
First of all, where did you get that statistics from? ASE or the in-game browser? And at what time did you get that figure? I play SF from 10 in the morning to 10 in the evening. And I find there are more than 100 servers populated with players. Some of them are dedicated to Warlord/Ghost Town which are 2 of my favourites maps.
I don't find them laggy. When my AMD CPU gets hotter, I find it laggy but that's a local problem. Also, are you joining a 64 players server? You do understand that a 64 player server demands higher hardware sepcification?
As for BF2 vanilla version, I haven't played it ever since I have got SF. The reason is very simple, I don't like chopper whores and tank whores! What's the point of running around in the battlefield and get killed by a shell?! I mean every 1 to 2 minutes! I don't drive those tanks well and I can't ride a chopper and fire upon ground targets. So "Bye BF2 vanilla!".
I think EA/DICE have satisfied most of their fans by giving us 2 basically different games BF2 Vanilla and SF. The former being a vehicle dependent game and the later is if I may say so an infrantry game.
Patch 1.21 doesn't ruin the game! How would that be? What's your evidence? In fact, ever since I patched the game to 1.2, I get more kills than ever before and those annoying kangaroo players(cheaters) can no longer use their dirty skills to get points. 1.21 is even better with the claymores. In fact, 1.2 and 1.21 have brought SF to what it should be since its release. I think what that ****es players is that they can no longer take advantage of the bugs in pre-1.2 version of SF. SF with patch 1.21 is in proper shape and is fair to everyone. It is an isolated case which you find it laggy.
I haven't played SF since patch 1.2 because of the server crashing issue when a tow was fired. In fact we use to switch our server all the time between SF and BF2 pre 1.2 The day 1.2 came out we switched to SF and 2nd map it crashed. It kept crashing everytime on those 2 maps and I was amazed that the lack of testing that went into 1.2 I mean they said they were going to do it right this time and 1.2 was a dud.
Also since DICE said no more support for SF, then its no more support from us either.
I bought SF to fly the new heli's and I can't because of the extreme pilot seat slideshow lag. They have known about this lag from day 1 release of SF and made no attempt to fix it. That's why I feel ripped off because I can't use a vehicle I enjoy so much. Now its confirmed that it will never be fixed. So that's $30 down the drain for me. That's why I haven't and won't buy EF and AF. The buck stops here.
SF is dying don't kid yourselves, there are less and less servers everyday. I would say 70% off the people that bought SF don't play it any longer and atleast that % of SF servers have disappeared. There used to be over 600 SF servers before 1.2
I bought SF the day it was released. I haven't played over 10 hours total. It just isn't good. It brings the CSS factor a lot.
I am a hardcore "Battlefield" gamer. I have been playing this game since the day BF1942 was released. But as the name represents, this game is about war, about infantry, about tanks, about the jets, about close combat. It was never meant to be like special forces. Special forces is something that the company has decided to release to make money, nothing more. It was definetly not intended to address the real "Battlefield" player.
Oh and I don't even use any of the SF weapons at all. I also think that the best weapons in this game is the stock weapons in vanilla BF2. Such as the M4 or the M16. They have the best design, best sounds. And they also balance reality vs arcade thing very well. The unlocks and the SF weapons and the EF weapons are just not realistic. By realistic i don't mean the accuracy or recoil. I mean the way they were implemented for a game. They are just not very well balanced. They are either extremely powerful like PKM, or they just suck big time like the M95. The more weapons they added, the more problems they got. I just love the accuracy and arcade style of M4 or M16.
If any of you were a hardcore DC or BF1942 gamer like me, you would understand what I am trying to say about the whole SF thing.

Loads of servers, most full as you can see, this was taken just now which isn't exactly gaming prime time either.

I can pretty much make the same comment. I keep trying it out every few days, but each and every time any server I randomly pick is always full of TK'ing chaos.
