    Is Special Forces slowly dying?

When Special Forces came out, it was awesome. There were plenty of new weapons, new standard issue gear, new maps, new vehicles etc.

Since its release, i had been playing Ghost almost daily for 5, 10 and sometimes 15 hours straight. Rarely ever experienced lag.

Since Patch 1.21 was released, i am experiencing major lag on almost 100% of the time on all the ghost servers.

I am seeing less people play SF now because of this major lag. In fact, until a two weeks ago, there were about 30 ghost servers and plenty of other SF servers anytime you checked the listing. Yesterday i saw just 12!

So my question to SF lovers is did patch 1.21 ruin special forces and with EA not supporting it anymore, does this mean SF is disappearing?

I think its dieng quite fast. I bought it the day of its releas and i didnt play it a lot. Probably because of the "no having planes". I know a lot of people who quitted it.

    Yes its dying

Definitly not. The no planes part is a big plus and the gameplay is fat better than battlefield 2. I also think it's a totally different game to play. I dont want to brag but im quit good at BF2SF but about 2 days ago I gave BF2 Vanilla a change again after about 3 months and I totally sucked. I don't know why but I just dont like Vanilla anymore. Special Forces is way better. PLANES SUCK!!

how could you know if you don't play it ?

it isn't so popular as vanilla BF2 , but still , I get a lot of servers showing up with players on offcourse, I almost only play SF, and I think the curent SF players are all mostly SF players .

offcourse it is now as vanilla BF2 , it isn't new anymore, so many servers only run the most popular map(s) , for BF2 it's karkand , for SF it's warlord.

I do feel there isn't support for SF from DICE , if it is dying, it's mostly there fault, if you ask me, they didn't even test the new patch with SF, how else could it be, they release a patch and after 1 min reports showing up two maps crash from start ?

I agree with this one , BF2 vanilla is more about whoring and crap , BF2 has a way better balance between vehicles and infantry , on many maps half the flags can't be taken with vehicles , or be reached by vehicles , so there is infantry going on, at the other side, vehicles are still very usefull , and no jets, wich is a good thing

Its nowhere near dying, everytime I search for a server I find about 30 which are totally filled 64/64, and another 50-60 which are not filled by are there half way, so dying ?? I think not.

You have a brain of a dead ant that was ran over by a semi-trailer.

it was 1.2 that killed sf, the mounted tow crashed servers. this lag you experience, i get it too, but its only unplayable in the attack heli. anyhow, yes sf is dying, the reason is that it needs bf2 maps in the sf cycle, sf would own then.

The patch didnt ruin anything, quite frankly it didnt change squat except how many claymores you can lay at once.
And TBH with you, its good that EA is not going to support it, that way the chance of a patch that will ruin SF are nil.

I havent noticed much of a change since the patch, I get a bit of lag on Iron Gator now and then which wasnt so noticeable beforehand. I still love SF though . Far more balanced maps than bf2

How are you finding 30 servers?

A few days ago i logged on and found just 12 SF servers. Thats it for all maps.

Prior to the 1.21 patch, there were at least 6 Ghost maps that were 24x7 gameplay. Now there are just 3.

But, more importantly, i am really upset at the major lag i am experiencing on all SF servers sicne patch 1.21.

I noticed a few SF servers are still staying at 1.2 patch, maybe for the same reasons i am upset about. LAGGGGG from 1.21 patch

I am getting major lagg even when playing sniper.

I havent played since last weekend. The reason being that i died 4x by falling off the ledge of a building because i went to lean over, lagg hit and when lag caught up i was already hitting the ground.

Personally, i love SF more than Euroforce or Vanilla BF2. I play mostly Ghost, though i was playing a lot of Sharqi when the new P90 and sniper rifle came out. Now that claymores changed again, Sharqi is old.

Anyway, i thought the game was perfect pre-1.2 patch, it got better with 1.2 patch. But, i have been expriencing major lag since 1.21 patch. Its occuring for me on all SF servers (large and small maps) to the point where i cant fly choppers and im falling off buildings.

If you check my stats you will see i play a few hours every day since vanilla came out. But, i havent played since last weekend becaue of all this lagg stuff.

Even decided to download America's Army to play instead of BF2.

I think it is- I haven't played it in a month or so9for the problems mentioned), and I think a lot of people are in the same boat-too bad it could be cool when it runs properly
