    Spec ops, all the way.

I destroy the armor MUCH faster than AT, in one try.
Guns are more than good, you can snipe with the Scar.
    High mobility, cap flags quicker.

SpecOps can do everything as good as any other kit with the exception of medics. The total package, IMO.

I agree, the assault class has been over-nerfed. Without an effective weapon, why would anyone choose this class now?

The Medic's access to assault rifles, full sprint and self-healing make it the best anti-infantry kit.

I'll go along with the original list. I would say even a 50% medic team might not be a bad idea (respawning as AT or specops when needed of course). Certainly 33% would be good (see the "ideal squad" threads; most people want 2 medics in a squad).

The reason people hate snipers is that most are n00bs.

If you have ever watched a good sniper at work, youll know they are truly devastating in defense.

A single sniper sniper often gets over 20 kills a round- thats quite a few tickets!

Overall though, snipers are only usefull with around 4 in 32 player team. The rest should be Medic, Support and the occasional AT.

Im surprised that Dice nerfed the Assualt class so much though- They should really make up the bulk of an army.

When the server is all pubbed out, full of people who won't squad and the comms a noob. I go Spec ops and blow the crap out of the anything. I like the guns, I love C4 and the package of sprint is great.

When its organized I play Support, Engineer or medic in that order. I play engineer when its armor heavy map and the squad is on foot often (i'm good at placing mines.)

Actually, I think people hate snipers because most snipers are n00bs. TBS reruns "Sniper" and suddenly every little kiddie wants to be Tom Berenger.

spec op is good for infilitration of outpost, but cannot stand frontal assualt.

I like Spec Ops for flanking actions and sabotage - it's my favorite kit by far. But you're right, it's not that useful for the frontline attacks that most people prefer.

I agree with most posts here. The most "useful" is the medic, no debate, as long as we are saying that "useful" means useful to your team and your squad. But, I also think you guys are underestimating Engineers. The shotguns are good, close in, and the mines prove very effective on certain maps. The 'Lone Wolves' among us tend to opt for snipers and spec ops... sitting off in the distance, only supporting an assault if they happen to be in the area, or blowing the s**t out of stuff when a good SAW would be more useful in the squad. Suppot and Assault would tie for third place, in my opinion. Spec ops and snipers clean up the rear. IMHO

Re: Rate the infantry classes usefulness here.

assault class is most useless as other kits can kill infantry as effectively if not better. A smoke grenade is usless (except for those hilarious kills with them). Support in my oppinion is the most usefull as it is a killing machine and has unlimited grenades and ammo. However i have found 90% of people play this kit now and it is not as fun as it used to be, its too common.

That's not true. I play specops constantly, I fight right along with support and assault. Bottom line is ANY kit can be the best, just get used to it and know the strengths and weaknesses. Some people swear engi's are useless, others wreak havoc with the shotty. It all depends. If you're good with a certain kit, THAT is the best for you.

As expected the votes are pretty much exactly following the curve I laid down.

It's clear that they need to boost the assault and Spec Ops classes though.

I really don't think Spec Ops needs any major boosts, just something to make them better at their role. Like being invisible on the UAV and Sat Scan as long as they're not moving.

Given Assault's seemingly intended role of dealing damage and spearheading attacks, yes, they've long been in need.

Engineer could also use some tweaks.

The overall best class is AT.

                                1. It can kill infantry
                                2. It can kill armor
                                3. It can shoot down choppers
                                4. If lucky, jets
                                5. It can 'noob tube'
                                6. It can snipe with the rocket

No other class is as overall effective as the 1.21 AT.
