i actually like the MG36 better because of it's burst fire which helps me cause with the PKM i always end up doing spray n' prey.

PPl just choose the weapon and play. PKM is good just like the BFV's M60 in its early patch. I wonder why nobody @#$% about noobtube now. hey i was one of them.

Two shotting me from across an open field as i make my way from cover to cover is NOT balanced.....get over it.

I am coming into this conversation late but here is my 2 cents. Before the patch at Karkland I always played support because there were medics galore everywhere. When I play I usually try and fill a role that isn't taken up so I learned to be a support guy the right way (provide covering fire and provide ammo when you can).

With the patch I know noticed there are support guys EVERYWHERE and fewer medics. So what am I doing now? Playing a medic.

It's a bit annoying that in a team game everyone one is playing for themselves and not the team. It makes me think there isn't much that can be done. Tweek or don't tweek the pkm it will just cause the herd to run to something else.

Problem solved, PKM has been nerfed a little in the new 1.22 patch. Someone start a new thread how the PKM is now useless and there's no reason to play support anymore...

And what do you mean useless ?...if you would do your job of providing ammo to players then there wouldn't be a problem....but now that the god of the support class has been nerfed....people are either not going to play it or start actually playing the class for its intended role.

Never been a support fan. After they buffed the pkm, my AT guy could sometimes yell "ammo" at the top of my lungs, and the FIVE FACKERING support players in my squad/area would just continue the sniping rampage, while the APC that I missed (after knocking out the tank, the pickup, and the guy on the ATV) was slowly making it's way toward our flag.

Like has been said before, hopefully the slight nerfing of the support unlocks will put more focus on "ammo resupply", rather than making those (admittedly terrific) headshots across the map.

If not, I have medic bag; will travel (and you can count the bullets it takes you to pkm the APC to death).

Stop meeting them head-on? I've been playing a lot of Support lately (trying to get my expert badge) and I've noticed something.

The bad players just run right at me, crouch or go prone, and start shooting. Naturally my big gun wins without much issue.

The good players see that I am support, and know that I am going to drop prone and open fire. So you know what they do? Fvck with me. They run around a corner, pop out and back in, loop behind me, force me to stand up and then go prone again, etc. etc. They exploit the fact that I'm not very mobile compared to their assault rifles and carbines. And it works.

That quote right there says it all. You folk that are whining about the PKM simply are NOT USING YOUR HEADS. If you see the support class you NEED TO MOVE. Find cover, move around, the more a PKM wielder has to chase you with his crosshair/iron sights the less accurate he will be, especially now in 1.22. I NEVER HAD A ISSUE WITH THE SUPPORT CLASS EVER, besides the fact they were WAY TOO INNACCURATE pre 1.2. All these people freaking out about the ungodly PKM, seriously wtf, i am rarely killed with the PKM, you are doing something wrong. You should just uninstall BF2 throw it away and go buy Call of Duty if you wanna be a Battlefield hero.

Why do people not understand that a stationary bi-pod machine gun does TEAR SH!T UP? It is supposed to, its not a BB gun, it fires large mean nasty rounds at a high rate, is it supposed to bruise you? SImply use your head, play in a squad that provides cover fire for you, use your environment as cover, better yet dont be seen.
