Very Rarely do i play support and when i do i kinda feel embarassed. Most of the time i just rock with assult or engie. Yea it is kinda funny to see them everywhere. But i do feel bad for the guys that actually played support before the patch.

The PKM is powerfull, and I use it a lot, but still, when I am running around with an asseult rifle, I put down most PKM boys , just learn to use the pro 's of your weapon, when holding assault, just strafe left and right, acuracy stays good , while the PKM boy needs to stand where he is, strafing with PKM is major loss on acuracy .

also, don't complain, if you realy want to score, be a medic, then you can clean up the mess of the PKM's , beeing a medic in SF is points for free, all dead body's and no medics or few medics

The thing is people don't understand for the most part how a support weapon like the PKM or any other light machine gun works. The rounds are scattered in such a way that they hit a wide area causing a 'beaten zone' this is your kill zone. If they made it a little less accurate, then it would be fine and more realistic. I'm not a PKM user, ammo whoring and spray and pray is not my bag. It doesn't need to be totally nerfed like some people suggest....it's not one of my favorites either, but it's not quite as bad as plane whoring...I'm just bitter 'cause I can't fly....

I love how people love to flame very effective ways of killing people. First it was the "noob tube" and c4 chucking and now its the PKM. Good grief! Why should someone stop doing something that very effectively kills the enemy? Oh, because it is more noble to kill them with a pistol? Please. Kill them, and you survive. Its not realistic? Right, the PKM will make swiss cheese out of you IRL.

I find that most of the time, whoever has the element of suprise wins, regardless of gun (to a certain degree). I have killed quite a few PKM guys with standard rifles by simply getting the jump on them. Go figure.

Everyone and their dog uses the PKM now. Not because they want to support their team... but because they are stat whores and it is a mobile laser cannon with unlimited ammo.

Reminds me of BFV with the M60. Mobile laser cannon when it is SUPPOSE to be a support weapon. 90% of players in every server use PKM's. Ridiculous.

All those little PKM whores will post saying how I am full of it. Everyone that thinks like I do will post in agreement.

Nothing will change... so I won't even check this thread again.

Stop meeting them head-on? I've been playing a lot of Support lately (trying to get my expert badge) and I've noticed something.

The bad players just run right at me, crouch or go prone, and start shooting. Naturally my big gun wins without much issue.

The good players see that I am support, and know that I am going to drop prone and open fire. So you know what they do? Fvck with me. They run around a corner, pop out and back in, loop behind me, force me to stand up and then go prone again, etc. etc. They exploit the fact that I'm not very mobile compared to their assault rifles and carbines. And it works.

Make the Assault Rifles a lot better (maybe increase damage on M16 and make AKs G3, and F2000 more accurate), dont nerf the PKM. Its the assault rifles that suck-they should be pretty much on par with the PKMs from prone, and a lot better upright. Their only disadvantage should be the lack of a 200rd clip and resupply.

And NEVER bring back the GL AGAIN!!!

first fact: claymores are a worse problem, and require less skill

second fact: pkms are not overpowered, the rest of the other guns are slightly underpowered and should be improved.

i agree totally with bfa variable.

i was on karkand using the pkm, when a MEC medic catches sight of me 30 feet away.

rather than run behind cover, plenty of which was available, shoot at me, throw grenades or do something sane, this moron ran quite slowly straight at me, stopping 2 feet away and going prone, at which point i blasted the hell out of him.

what did he do next? probably go on totalbf2 and start this whining thread.

and any assault rifle will kill somebody just as fast, and they work standing up too accurately.

dont suggest nerfing the pkm if you want your view to be considered as a valid solution.

nerfing aint the solution. the other guns should be powered up rather than the pkm powered down.

as is the following guns can win frontal prone gun battles against pkms if the user has skill

The truth it is as much the way people play against the PKM as the PKM itself.

PKM's are way more accurate than they should be, but if you think fast enough it is possible to survive and kill the PKMer

Ways:
1)Snipe
2)Run sideways in a zig-zag (it works)
3)Hide behind somthing
see if you can come up with anymore PKM survival stratigies
Most Importantly DONT PANIC panic leads to death on the battle feild

Yeah, I think the PKM still requires a certain skill. I am only an occassional user of it, and I cannot always succeed with it automatically. For example, I have a hard time firing off single shots with it. Even if it is more accurate now, it still takes a skill set to use it. PLus what are you gonna do with it against a vehicle? Die, that's what.

there are 2 type of ppl in bf2, ppl that are only good at whining cuz som1 is better than they are, and ppl who kill the people who whine about suxing so much.
