On our server we found the solution to be: turn FF on for clays and mines, noob snipers fear laying out their clays now..only pro's do in good spots.

Idiots... deal with it, work your way around claymores.
Removing clays would be stupid, but making them destroyable wouldn't. Its ridiculous that a claymore can be left at a spawn and the only way to get rid of it is to sacrifice a player. Clays are the only weapon in the game without an effective counter. They should be destroyable, OR, the more elegant solution would be to give engineers an invulnerability to clays if they're holding their spanner. Engineers are supposed to be able to deactivate clays but the destruction cone seems to be about 290 degrees, which makes this almost impossible.

Of course this would be solved if it wasn't for BF2's ****ty hit detection.. they keep moving they are fine.

The only way I have been able to avoid this crap is by finding an FF on server.
        (Me sniper) What's a gun??!!

            Yeh what's your IP?

Question, is it against EA (beor? or whatever it is) to change these settings on your server? Is it against the rules to have FF on? Can your server get shut down for doing so?

No, you can choose whether you want FF on or off on a server without breaking the ROE.

Skarecro your either mentally retarded or under the age of 12.

Yea lets remove claymores, while were at it lets just remove all the other things whiney little 12 year olds complain about. Lets remove the AT class, because I see alot more people using them against infantry then tanks.

All is fair in war, you can't handle it get the hell out and go back to CSS.

Re: A simple solution to the claymore problem

That about all i do anymore is snipe. But i adapt well. I was great with a shotgun, got bored, got great as assault.......got bored...and figured what the hell, i'll try sniper. I hate sniper....but i'll try it. Im not great with it yet, but getting there.

Point is, without the clays, a sniper really has no D. I mean really, 2 guys out to kill the sniper, without clays, the sniper is definitly gonna die. With clays, there is a great possibility the sniper lives, and the 2 careless assaulters die.
I can see folks seeing wrong, with spam of claymores. But to take a clay away from a sniper in this game, is really dumb.
You wanna whine, whine about the 5, hey i really suck in the air, but heres 5 cluster bombs on a flag, hope i get 20 points, problem.
                    Not claymores.
Besides, you the ONLY problem with clays are city maps. Period.
Again, adapt. Dont go the over used mainstream alleyways. Dont go certain routes. I get tons of claymore kills on city maps. But you know..its the same idiots over and over. Its the smart one, that flanks me and wacks me out like im the noob.

If you look up the history of the snipper class, you will find they have always been used in the front lines oe sent in ahead of all others!

Another one of these...sorry claymores were changed, then changed again. I don't want them to be changed to be unchanged to just be changed from the last change....lol

I have to admit that I do this, it seems as though I do it quite frequently but checking my stats I only have 100 kills. I think the fact you gain a kill is a trade off as you are so underpowered in the front end of things and again checking the stats I have 5 times as many kills using the rifle so work that out. imo It's better policy either way to use the kit as intended and cover your ass when in position.

Re: A simple solution to the claymore problem

I was playing on |LBC| the other day and encountered a squad of 3 snipers, 1 medic and 1 supply. Running together, they littered the map with claymores in probably the worst, indefensible way I have yet to see. The claymores are a useful part of the sniper kit, but the spamming of them is an issue. I agree that the engy should be able to disarm them just like they can do with mines. I don't bitch, I adapt - we keep the squad leader up and throw ourselves on the clays like lemmings to retake the flag. Roll on...
