thats how it used to be and it was definitly fine as it was. IMO no explosive should be invaunerable.

right but with the current claymore situation, claymores can be farmed to the extent that theres no way to enter an area. claymores NEED to blow up as they used to by grenade

the blackhawk serves its purpose now, the delivery of men, air assault. before it was a combat unit all its own, and with the right crew it was quite invaunerable. so the slogan isnt when in doubt nerf. its when something is disrupting the game flow, nerf.

not really, this is a commando/sappers weapon, snipers would never handle them in the field. further more, you arent a very good sniper if the enemy found you much less walked all the way to where you are. like someone said before, sniping isnt about superior position, its about shootin and scootin.

Re: A simple solution to the claymore problem

The fact of the matter is that if you play like a team and stick together in squads with a medic claymores are not a problem at all.

All you have to do is think about where a claymore might be, send someone other than the medic in and then when he is blown up, just revive him. It isn't that difficult. This is not HL2 where you can be solo rambo boy all the time . . . you have to play as a team.

This is how I do it all the time and I have absolutely no complaints with claymores because you can take them out with one of your players and if the sniper runs in rambo style you can kill him and then have someone taken out. Seriously, you are a human and have a brain so that you can work your way around problems, not just complain about them.

        no, thats not thier role.

it comes down to this guys. the purpose of the claymore SHOULD BE to defend the perimiter of a sniper, and base defence. this would be fine if teamamtes set them off (without team damage) and grenades set them off. the reason its not ok this way is because it makes some areas unpassable. i have the same problem with c4.

            The BH deserved the nerf.

Re: A simple solution to the claymore problem

Id like the Claymores to be given to the SF and Eng class aswell...

Deffinatly detonatable by a bullet but also if you "spot it" it should be made innert for a few seconds while its passed over or defused...

Id like to see 4 clays given to the Eng and 2 to the SF...

Land mines are worse; you dont even have to drive over them...

Just driving near them blows you up...

Re: A simple solution to the claymore problem

A solution would be to make the engineer class unable to set off claymores. It would boost the amount of engineers in combat, and would solve the claymore problem.

Snipers are supposed to be far away, sniping. An engineer has close range, inaccurate weapons (except the MP7 which is weak), so he wouldnt go up a mountain just to shoot a sniper. Therefor, claymores would still be used for there original purpose, to guards the sniper while he is sniping. However, if a sniper decides to run into combat and drop his claymores and expect a couple of kills, he will get a shotgun blast to the face.

                Best solution IMO.

I've really thought about this one. I think it would be the best balanced way to go about what people consider a "problem." If you can spot it, you can avoid the activation mechanism, and get past it.
EDIT: or even better, only engineers could spot clays and make it past them. They're supposed to act as an EOD guy, in a way. They could spot the mine, warning others of it's presence, and then crawl up to it and disarm it.

I think you SHOULD at least be able to spot all explosives. I hate being a gunner in a tank, seeing the mines strewn about, and not being quick enough to type that... yep, that was a mine that killed us.

                    1. and smokes are good for?
2.stabing isnt the problem the problem is a sniper at close range with any other unit type is toast 98% so they should be able to atleast attempt at holding the enemy at distance.
3.I agree but AT mines had been made worthless by how easy they are blown up.
4.The black hawk serves no purpose now except a flying death trap, me and my friends were very skilled BH and we were still brought down quite commonly, it isnt our fault if the other team decides they dont want to shoot at us. What disrupts game flow is being GL every over and over again EA could easily fix this without nerfing the weapon by adding minimum explosion distance but they dont. How often do you see snipers winning golds?
                    5. I agree
                    6. In the field snipers can hiide from enemies and one bullet brings a man down or atleast renders him incapable of fighting. Snipers in bft need to either hit a guy in the head (difficult on moving targets) or hit the same man twice (a smart person hides when shot by a sniper and they always know because no other weapons bring them from full to two heath in one shot). They cannot hide because of scans and UAV's so they should atleast be able to make running strait at them dangerous.

I dont support indistructable claymores but the sniper of Vanilla BF2 needs the claymore considering the rapidly changeing front lines and lack of good hiding spots.
