how is it with three hundred more hours played than you, that you have more losses than i?

2.) of your 345 hours played 243ish are on armies that have the m24 (the ultimate point and click rifle)
now that 1.2 is out you probably dont have to switch teams all the time cause you can get that L96

3.) this one makes me almost sick, you have almost 263 hours as a lone wolf

so much for the team huh? talk about selfish

Losses have nothing to do with how you do. I've connected to a server and lost right away or I am losing real bad from the begining.

Also, I've been in matches where I am doing well, and we are still losing. Once person performing well, will not make a team win.

would you kindly try and make an example out of another sniper ? me for instance,1 guy stats dont count for every sniper in bf2?

snipers dont heal?? doh of course not!!!!
neither do assualt,support,spec ops only medic and supply crates do that.
all because a player that is sniper has less wins doesnt mean its his fualt his team has lost!!!

example mr spec ops kills 15 and die's 8 times and mr sniper kills 15 and die's 2 times whitch player has took more tickets??

caping flags is one thing but reducing tickets is another.

dont knock the sniper class with statments you can back up(unless you go through every account in bf2 history looking at snipers stats.

i practiced hard as sniper why? to help my team the best i can,100+hours caping ,assisting kill assisting and more importantly killing the enemy,also spoting everything that moves ,oh and the tedious task of defending.
i also dont whore armor imho engineers should be in there to let the tank last longer.

snipers dont resupply(lmao now) of course they dont neither do medics/assult/enginerrs,that yeh you guessed it thats support and mr supplycrate job.

i thought the tips were very good may even try the get in the back of the jeep for a good lol,

but why disrespect a class witch is not easy to master,get expert sniper with only youre rifle and no armor/heli veichal whoring of any kind then come back and we can chat some more.

a decent dedicated sniper is not a player who hides as far away from the action killing 3 ppl per round for a good kd ratio,

a decent dedicated sniper will eliminate infantary with impunaty,wont take attempt to take out armor with a knife but instead spot the tank.

and spot every land and air vehical moving in the vasinity.

will also cap,assist squad,give them cover.

my fav ---save the team from iminate death by a enemy sneaking up on them,boom i more team m8 saved + a ticket saved and a ticket gain due to the death of the enemy.

ive been in a squad with 2 snipers me + one other and i can tell you with voip and both looking out for targets and going for "fire on 2" <-example the both firing the enemy doesnt catch on theres 2 snipers and there also dead.

or if you need a sniper taken out and have a good sniper on you're team then help is at hand ect.

oh i play sniper and i have more wins than losses and i dont think im l337 ,just good at what i do and i no my limitations,
and i also no that the game classes out match each other in differnt ways.

i may be wrong but i think ppl who hate snipers also dont care about the team,they are probaly stresed out by being headshotED all the time .......i feel special as im not 99% of other snipers ?apparantly!!!!!!!

oh if you dont want to be flamed as you call it then here is a tip for you ,dont knock the sniper class, with 99%of us are usless with out proff of 100% of every sniper account.

just a bit a proof that a sniper can still get good scores and help the team to win.
i got 48 kills with my rifle/pistol/claymore and we won 97-0

i got a silver medal and a nice victory for the team,

Ok, heres the 64 dollar question. I go all out and help the team, what do I get? The quick answer is nothing, but lets look a little closer. Have you ever looked at the player list at the end of the game, closely? So on this make believe list I am number 5 and my team won. Look across the list to the other team did you beat the guy at number 5 on the other team. Thats what you get by helping make sure your team wins, its about 20% more points for yourself.
So now how do you answer the 64 dollar question? . . . . .Red

The reason that my losses are higher than my wins is because I tend to join the side that is losing when I join a map in midgame. Thats by choice. Any noob can join the winning side, it’s more of a challenge to join the losing side and see if you can make a difference.
Btw these are my Sniper Stats, I got 6 more accounts which have totaly different Stats.

So whats wrong with the M24? Its the best tool for the Sniper when you have no Unlocks. And even when you do its still better than the rest. Only recently it has been surpassed by the L96A1.
Also the Bolt Actions have a nice 5x Zoom as compared to the Semi’s which only have 3.3x Zoom. And I tend to make kills on Long Range (250+) so that explains it also.
And finaly I started this account when Special Forces came out. The best maps imo are Devil’s Perch, Warlord, Ghost Town and Night Flight when you are a sniper. Add to that the fact I prefer to be on the attacking side SEALS & SAS and you will automaticly will be using the M24 more. This also explains the higher loss than win ratio because attacking sides lose more than win apparently.

Well as a Sniper you tend to be out there alone a lot of the time. There is no point of being a squadleader when you got guys spawning on you the whole time. It kinda takes away from the fact you are trying to hide somewhere.
I play most of the time on the big servers which usually have maxed out squads allready. I join up when I am asked in those cases. Otherwise there is no point. A sniper is better at covering from afar when a Squad is capping.
I have created squads before and invited people that were not in a squad allready, but 50% of them wont squad up so I stopped doing that. I now only do that when we are losing flags too quickly and I am near one. Or when I am in the Crane at Construction Site on Sharqi.

Helping out a team and being in a squad are 2 different things.
You can be in a squad and run the other way of where you Squadleader is going and be useless for the team.
You can also not be in a Squad and Spot Enemy movement. Or defending a Flank with Clays and Surpressive Fire. Or Covering a Squad that is trying to get a Flag. All of those actions dont show up in Stats.

And nobody is talking about Elitist here, allthough I doubt that there are a lot of people with a 25 : 1 ratio on any weapon here on this forum. And even still some of the Top Snipers in this game also reside on this forum. If you talk crap about their favorite class you will get your ass handed to you each and every time.

Sniper-bashing seems to be a popular sport these days, and I think it boils down to everyone hating getting shot by one lol. The team players also don't like them because they tend to lone wolf a lot, but you can easily bash the Special Forces class for that too.

Hey, it truly does suck to get killed outta nowhere but you know what? That's modern war. If I could make one complaint about the sniper class though it's that half the team goes sniper, when in reality a company of 150 or so soldiers might have one or two sniper teams (shooter + spotter) attached.

All in all though I don't mind having snipers out there, it keeps you sharp and makes you choose your cover carefully. At any rate it's great to be able to respawn as a sniper and pick off the one who just killed you...Ahhh sweet revenge!

Good points, though I disagree about the sniper comments. Most snipers are useless, true. However, there are a few who do exceptionally well and make a difference for the team.

Also, flag captures and flag defends are not everything for a single person. Example, as a sniper squad leader, I often get into visual range of an enemy flag. My team spawns on me and goes in. However, I stay back. Reasons?

1. I can pick off any new spawners or enemy defenders that are trying to take out my squad mates. If I don't headshot (do a body shot), they'll die within 1 or 2 shots from my squad members.

2. If I rushed in, I'd probably get killed...seeing snipers are weak point blank...and then we lose the flag capture, period.

3. Any squadmates that die can quickly respawn and reinforce the cappers within seconds.


What does that give me? No capture points...but our team just gained an important capture point. However, I often run in to help cap once it turns neutral.

Feel free to check my stats. I'm not quite sure what will show up....I've never checked. Please check for me. I know accuracy is probably lower than usual since I did a lot of missing pre-sniper-accuracy-fix patch. :P

First of all, I have over 42 hours as sniper, 1841 kills and 1285 deaths as a sniper. Thats 1841 tickets lost for the enemy, while only 1285 for my team. I am a true team player, always in a squad or a squad leader, on average on Wake I can get over 70 points with a sniper rifle in a game. Whats your in-game name? I doubt you have more than 10 hours with a sniper and your K: D ratio is probably sh*t with it too. Why bash the sniper? It's just as usefull as assault, just even deadlyer. Think before you speak, all classes have their place in the battlefield, your just an arrogant e-thug who got a .50 through his head one too many times.

I could not even read the first part of your post due the sniper issue.

Did you know you are dead wrong that the sniper kit is useless?

Do you know how many times a comander has place arty on me(one guy) instead of a bunch of guys somewhere else?

That should tell you the fear comander have of snipers.

Do you know how many pilots I have sniped in the attack helo?

Do you know how many kills I have with the clamore?

Do you know how many times I have defended a flag while being a sniper(which is not done too much in the game)?

Do you know how many flags I have recapped when the enemy has left with no defender?

Do you know how many guys I have killed at a distance of 100 meters or more?

Do you know how many one shot kills I have with the sniper rifle and kill assists. It is easy to kill the enemy when they have only 2 bars of life left. They are usually staying put waiting for a medic or running around looking for cover and a medic, either way, they are no threat to the team.

All kits are vitual to a team, but the sniper is feared by the comander as much if not more than the spec ops. Most of my deaths are from arty as a sniper, which is why I go to high ground if I can

im sorry i have to call bs on that "commander fears sniper" nonsense, the only reason commander arties a lone sniper is because they arent moving, there's little to no chance of hitting his own troops, and because the rest of the team is to lazy to go after a single guy just sitting on his ass. The fact that most of your deaths are from arty means you arent moving around alot of the time, which then means you're harldy ever capping flags

and to people who site kill/death ratios as "teamwork" that doesn't really count cause you can do that with any class just as easily, and at the same time you can be healing/repairing/rearming/capping and generally engaging the enemy team at the same time. furthermore, i bet the other classes get just as many kills, if not more.

dont get me wrong i like playing sniper every now and then but the points made by the original poster, i feel, are pretty accurate, and the arguments ive seen by sniper fanatics are, honestly, pretty weak and hollow (except for RptheHotRod (sp?) he uses a good tactic as squad leader for capping flags, and is a good example of how a sniper can help his team besides claiming their k/d ratio)

Thanks for sharing your 5 cents senor but we allready established that the sniper-class is the worst class to be capturing flags. At best he can serve the role of a Floating spawnpoint. And by my own personal experience allmost nobody ever spawns on me.
Even when I type the request in teamchat ingame.
Try putting some more hours in the sniper class before you start to slag of forum-regs and accomplished snipers here. You have no credit.

These brute force people knock the sniper class, and allot of times spec-ops as well. They knock the class(es) b/c they don't know of any other way do do things. Its the "blow $h!t up" mentality. I have defened a flag by myself at range.

And allot of times....if the player tends to prefer the sniper role, then the lone wolf status usually comes along. But there are players(like myself) that appreciate the sniper role and acknowledge the defensive and offensive capabilities of it in a team enviroment, serving as a spotter, or for suppresive fire (in a sense)...nothing says "keep your head down" like a lone sniper bullet...fire a bullet next to an enemy (miss on purpose) and watch what he/she does 95% of the time...hit the floor and/or sprint to cover.

Sometimes if i can't get a good shot...i will over shot the target to make him run back towards me and hopefully giving me a clear shot.

For the record I alternate between the sniper the spec-ops kit, depending on which one the current sit.rep. calls for.

Some people prefer not to be engaged in CQB in-game...but as in RL..allot of the times you don't really have a choice now do ya.
