Thanks for sharing your 5 cents senor but we allready established that the sniper-class is the worst class to be capturing flags. At best he can serve the role of a Floating spawnpoint. And by my own personal experience allmost nobody ever spawns on me.
Even when I type the request in teamchat ingame.
Try putting some more hours in the sniper class before you start to slag of forum-regs and accomplished snipers here. You have no credit.

I won't go as far as say Sniper Class is useless, however, I can't remember how many times my team has been capped out, but there are 2 or 3 Snipers doing nothing to help get a Flag. Also, just because you want to play Sniper, doesn't mean you can't join a Squad. I've never understood why Snipers feel it necessary to go LoneWolf, can one of you Sniper guys explain this to us/me?

Credibilty comes with what you post not how much. But nowhere was a post count mentioned. The assumption and misguided thought are made by yourself. You slag of snipers in general, because you dont have any clue how to play them. That is something we can all see by what you posted. So why dont you hush now noob and do us all a favor and crawl back under your rock.

first off ill say, dont go sniper
even with their god-like 1.2 sniper rifles, theyre about the most useless class in the field
not only do they rarely capture flags, they:

1. dont repair anything
2. dont heal/revive anyone
3. cant kill vehicles, THE number one killer on a battlefield

about the only thing theyre good at is drawing artillery from the rest of the team or the occasional defending a flag

now really the purpose of my post here is to tell ways to play smart and to stay alive

im not gunna try to tell you one kit is better than the other
other than that snipers are just poosies with guns that think they are teh leets

VERY VERY untrue...

Lately, after realizing (Thanks to [MyIS]Spetznas *sp?*), Snipers are extremely useful at capturing flags, and unlike the noob/camper sniper, a good sniper is extremely agressive and a flag capping machine. A good sniper IMO is the best flag capping/defending asset a team can have, because they have a silent close range weapon and claymores. All you need to do is put a claymore or two near an infantry chokepoint and whip your pistol out. Voila, you just got a flag, provided artilley or a tank can't reach you. If you pick your spot wisely, tank drivers will be helpless to watch as their flag slowly goes down. If they get out, they die :P.
To add to this, once a flag is capped, the sniper can stick around for a little and find a good vantage point for any counterattack. THe sniper can then proceed to pick off enemy infantry, and recap the flag after incase a tank rolls along to help.

I do not deny that a majority of snipers are completely useless for team play, but a good sniper will change the momentum of the battle.

In to response to the origional poster(i didnt read all other posts first but i will do now)

1)As a sniper ill ask for a crate to do that.
2)if i see a medic die ill happily give up my kit and revive him
3)and i can take people in hmmv's and jeeps down in one shot on the MG or inside of the cab(yes sometimes even when its moving).

And about snipers not being able to cap flags is bullcookies. 2 claymores at entrances and other entrances the pistol becomes and machine gun with practise.

snipers are not completly useless.(maybe the ones youve seen though:p )

There are enough armor whores and medics in a map usually (as medics and armorwhoring are among the two top strategies :P) for one to play a different class.

my opinion about snipers is everyone has their opinion about snipers... THEY ARE A VALUABLE PART OF ANY TEAM/SQUAD..

They are great for defending a point by placing a claymore down so 1 person cant just run um on a flag and take it over. Claymores are a great deterent. Plus he can just sit back and watch 2 flags at once in some circumstances and let the rest of the team know where people are...

WHAT?! sniper isnt the only kit that doesnt repair anything, heal/revive OR kill vehicles. Thats a useless statement. You may aswell make a thread about assault saying they dont repair anything. Or spec ops. or ANYONE apart from engineer. Same with heal/revive. Utterly stupid. They may not capture flags, but they clear the way and make it EASIER for people who DO capture flags.
I'm sick and tired of people saying snipers are useless. They are useful coz they MAKE IT EASIER.

I guess I Snipe about 90% of the time. You get to know when it's time to change, when it all gets too close. I often lead a squad, but I also change the name to "Sniper Sqd". Others still join. They know a good sniper will often be around a lot longer than a Assault etc. But if they join, then they know what their getting. However, when you get 3 or 4 snipers in a squad then we become quite a formidable team. We might not get Flags, but how many times have you been face to face with a heavy assault ,and seen the enemy drop like flies infront of you. The good players often announce thanks, even though they can't see you. I could get points a lot easier and quickly using different weapons, but I see a certain skill to Sniping that has yet to bore me. Likewise certain maps have taken on a new interest when sniping. Anyway that's my bit. Now I'll take cover. Cheers.

The first post really illustrates the difference between cheating and skill.

I thought I was a halfway decent player, but after reading it I am firmly convinced of how much I suck and no longer wonder why I die so much.
