i tend to agree to the fact this game is addicting. it was shocking to come to the realization of "you" have played over 300 hours, almost enough to say "i have played Battlefield2 enough that you could equal one hour everyday of playing time FOR A WHOLE 365 DAYS"!!!

But in actuality i cant play too much, but when i can play, and i mean play(4 hours or more) i exploit that oppurtunity. Recently i was ill and missed work for 3 days. The first day i didnt play at all, the other 2 i played from 8am, until 11pm, all day, haha. Nothing better than cold medicine, and gunfire.

The substance itself does not even need to be addictive (in a medical sence) for you to become hooked. If you enjoy anything enough, your body will create that need. I struggled for years with an addiction to pornagraphy.

I would dare say half of you have never experienced true addiction. It's not a matter of simply just using your free will and quitting.

And while I have my doubts about someone becoming truely addicted to BF2, I won't rule it out.

            You think EA is bad?
Stair at the + in the middle of this pic. See the Green dot moving around the pink ones? If you hold your eyes still enough, all the pink dots will vanish:

Now, follow the green dot with your eyes.
            There is no green dot.
Screwin with the human mind is just too damned easy.

That conditioning is more of an MMO thing, and TBH its quit sad (though yes i was an MMO addy). You get that next thing and you feel like you jsut need one more and one more and one more.

Although for BF2 there is no point in it except for rank and epeen.

              PS cool green dot thingy.

PPS This is a REAL addiction... 365 days 123 days /played. Saw it from the WoW boards and i was like OMG do you have legs?

It is true. I studied this in psychology 101. The BF2 ranks and awards system is a form of an Operant Conditioning Behavior Shaping. The ranks and awards are on a variable interval reinforcement schedule. This intermittent reinforcement schedule creates the most consistent response rate amongst laboratory pigeons. Likewise the ranks and awards on the same type of reinforcement schedule creates a system by which you become very addicted the BF2 game play.

I bet if we did a study on this we would find there is an astonishing number of people adversly affected by this game
