Today I was hoping to purchase EF due to the good things about it (reading). So, I go out looking for a gift card (like a visa), so I can purchase EF online. First I went to walmart. Everyone here stating...go to walmart..get one of those Visa gift cards, then you can buy it online. Nope...Wal-Mart didn't have any, while asking the staff. They have gift cards, but not the visa type. Some have tried to buy stuff online with the cards, and they were not successful. Fustrated, then sitting in my car, wondering what in the hell am I going to do? Get home from work, deal with the wife, kids, and now I am not able to relax. I feel I have been banned from BF2 for a time period. So, I see Future shop. I go there and ask for assistance, on a gift card. They have the same as Wa-Mart. No one has used the cards online. I do not want to go buy a card, and not able to do anything with it and only good for the store only. The salesperson went online "BattleField2" and seen the EuroForce for $9.99. He was helpless and went to call his boss to look as this situation. They were stunned, and emmediatly the boss told to remove the game off the shelf until all this can be solved. They didn't want costumers to buy, then return upset, wanting refunds. I then was told, "their is nothing I can do". Then I go to Ebgames looking for a gift card. They do not have those Visa types either. He told me also they removed the game off the shelf yesterday. Had a few customers very upset. I really wanted EF to keep my purchased BF2 and Special Forces going. It is what I paid for. I do not know anyone with a Credit card, because we forbid it, and for other reasons. So, I dunno how long this is going to last.

I do have a bank card. I will not use it online to help keep my personl infomation to myself. It is either you have the money or you do not have the money, and nothing in between like loans, CCards to help you through. I just do not want to be in dept. Protecting myself from even hackers going online and taking CCard numbers and a whole lot of reasons "Identity theft"..etc.etc.. Everyone I know doesn't have a CCard. I am thankful for that. The way they spend..oh gosh. This game is only $9.99 and it is way out of my reach. I have the cash like crazy on me, and I can not even get out $10.00 for EF. I was hoping EBgames could help on this kind of situation. Nope..beyond them, and they know what is going on.Comment

I guess you're in Canada, judging by the FutureShop comment. "Simon" owned malls in the US sell mall gift cards that are actually nothing more than Visa gift cards. If Simon owns malls in Canada, maybe that would be a place to look.
I have a credit card account, but don't actually keep the physical card around. My company allows me to generate one time use numbers with a preset limit.. So, I could make a credit card with a $10 limit and buy the game online. If someone were to steal the number, they couldn't use it anywhere except the EA store, but, even then, there wouldn't be any money they'd be able to use. Rather secure I think.Comment

If you live in Canada and have a Money Mart near you, go there. They sell(i think $10) Mastercards that are Prepaid, basically you put the money on the card, then you can use it. I use this for online purchases, this way i can limit how much(if any) the hacker is going to steal - lol.

No matter what you guys say about using my Bank card/debit card to purchase online. I am not taking that risk, even if it is safe. I will have to look into this Money Mart tonight, after work.Comment

But, I would avoid using debit cards period, the reason why people should use credit cards instead, is because of federal laws in the US (I'm sure Canada has similiar laws) that protect credit card users from fraudelent purchases on your card, better than the laws for debit cards. If someone gets your number, charges something fraudently, the bank HAS to credit back the charge to you. With debit cards, the laws are not as strict, and while you fight with your bank to get your funds back, you're out the money.
LOL, I also want to point out your personal banking information is more likely to be compromised by hackers hacking into bank networks than your own credit card activities online. So no matter what you do, even get a credit card and do nothing with it, your information could be stolen.Comment

C'mon now. You got to have more respect than that for anyone who is in to protecting themselves from Identity theft online (phishing) or for any other reasons not using a CCard.
