I also have this problem. I am not impressed. The game isnt playable for me anymore. Karkand fares best i noticed maybe because it has less vehicles?

Either way i cant play the game much anymore really.

Ping isn't what's killing people.
My ping is usually around 50-75.
It's FPS slowdown that's kicking asses.
With my comp, medium settings should not be crapping out.
Especially when I had everything maxed before the 1.21 with no issues at all.

Hmmm I have noticed that if i restart my PC i can run the game ok for about ten minutes tehn the FPS start getting bad.. I wonder why it's ok for those ten minutes and then die's?

My pings are always ok.. so i am assuming that it has to be my FPS. Stuped FPS.

To all ATI users, I have an Nvidia card and am experienceing the lag problem. Specs:

Athlon 3200 Barton
1.5 GB Ram PC 3200 Corsair XMS
Nvidia 6600GT

I was able to play with no issues until 1.21 patch.

I didn't lag before 1.21 i was fine just the occasional lag every now and then but now since 1.21 the lag is soo bad i cant play.I have updated punkbuster stopped any useless programs running,reinstalled bf2 and all the patches 3 damn times and ive been searching all the support threads for help but nothing works.PLZ help me i really need to get playing again.

the new 1.21 patch is the downfall of BF2 untill they release a new patch to correct the lag and errors

I had a find, if simple gameplay. Now with Lag Patch 1.21 its just silly.
Way too laggy, just get killed all the time. Ping of 40 and still no difference to a ping of 170. Even had a ping of 4 or something, which made no difference.

6600GT (128meg) 1gig ram - Barton 2600+ - all ingame setting are on LOW

Now before you talk about my specs. I was playing fine before lag patch 1.21 - I dont/shouldnt need to upgrade
I think EA should be the one upgrading my PC if upgrading is the case. Its silly that I buy a game, plays fine, then they bring out a patch that makes me have to upgrade my hardware. no that is crazy.

So what have EA done with the graphics in this patch? did they mess about with the shaders or something? can we change it back??

I had ok fps(medium settings(, but recently several days ago I started to get very high pings in bf2 on any online server. 300ms, 500ms, 800ms, etc and I get kicked. I play other games online like mohaa and all works well. Wierd thing is that after the patch came out it was fine, the something happend and its screwed up. So can't play my bf2 game The game is very fun just bought it little over a week ago, would love to start playing it agian.

Several things that might have affected this

1.installed us robotics 7902 network card with latest drivers
2.installed and ran system mechanic
3.installed latest drivers from nvidia website.
4.installed alcohol 120%
5.installed cyberlink dvd software

I tried it on both network cards onboard and pci, same issue.

specs;
internet; 8mb/784kb comcast
amd 64 3000+(754 socket)
Leadtek 6600gt
1.5 gb ram corsair valueram
75gb raptor 10,000rpm an 250gb wd storage

I thought it was just me, or I screwed my computer up. I've spent a few weeks cleaning up the hard drive and stuff. It runs F'n fast except on BF2 after the new patch I installed. EA really screwed this one up. i used to be able the highest settings PERFECT, now I can't even play a all. LAG CITY.

P4 3.4gh
1 gig dual channel 533mhz
74 gb 10,000 rpm x2 running Raid 0
Nividia GT 6800 256mb
Ceative sound blaster

Ea has really ****ed me off, they better fix it asap. I spent like 2 g's on my new rig just to play this damn game!
