Is it just me or do support/medics play with their volume off?
Re: Is it just me or do support/medics play with their volume off?
I will goto an out of the way place to give ammo or medic bags.
I throw someone ammo, they say thanks, I reply 'roger that' and I run off a happy man, knowing I done good and the thanks give me a smile and a boost to do it to someone else.
If I get 5 thanks from dishing out the ammo, then I dont give a monkeys if I dont score another point thereafter.
Re: Is it just me or do support/medics play with their volume off?
It also sucks when you play Medic or Support or even Engineer, and people ask for something, you try to give it to them, but they keep running away and get shot.
Re: Is it just me or do support/medics play with their volume off?
LOOK all you guys who ammo and healing problems, please all jump in a server I'm playing, I will love you long time, providing I get my expect badges. - would that be classed as a mass stat pad???
anyway I'm totally sick of people running from me, with 2 bars left, like I got the figging plague. If there are people that ain't like that, then I wanna meet em.

the amount of times someone on low HP has run AWAY from me is astounding.
Yeah its unbeleivable aint it. You get a medic call from a guy and when you reach him he runs away only to be shot!
Not to mention the guys who get ****ed at having to wait so long for a revive or heal!

Thats when you shoot them in the face, pick up thier kit, throw out your desired ammo or health, then either revive them with thier medic kit, or pick up your old one and be on your way. I know its not the coolest thing to do, but you prove a point so maybe next time they will listen to thier chat, and watch the map.
rofl...... not a bad idea at all , especially when sometimes the only thing that your team is getting supplied with is endless morons...:p
but still wouldnt recommend it though since it creates more hostility
Re: Is it just me or do support/medics play with their volume off?
some do, this is a fact , I play as support a lot lately, and the moment I here someone they need ammo, and they are in reach, I hurry up to them and give them what they want , then I need a medic, run after those guys "need medic, need medic, ..." they just run away from me .
but not only those to classes are having those problems, for example, some guy jumps into a vehicle, you call for a ride ,, he just drives away
Re: Is it just me or do support/medics play with their volume off?
I guess it largely depends on their experience; both playing the game and using that particular class. Usually when there's a Medic failing to respond to my calls for help, he/she is a low-ranking player and, I assume, not yet attuned to all the signals (of course, that's the point where it's fun to take out a hand-gun to get their attention).
Also, there seems to be a fair percentage of players who largely ignore the mini-map. When I play, I have one eye on the mini-map literally the entire time and it's on the mini-map that I can see every player within range of me who needs ammo or health. When playing the role of Medic or Support, those red dots are my primary concern and I'm usually helping my teammates long before they've even made the request.
Not everyone obsessively watches the mini-map, though, and I think that seriously detracts from their situational awareness. God-knows they're oblivious to all the little blue dots screaming for a ride when they tear off in an APC leaving half their team behind.

I think this has happened to me a good bit. I'd be assault, spend my entire supply of nade launches, run up to a supply guy, ask for ammo A MILLION TIMES, and what's he do? well he runs right the other way.. Same with medics, I'm clearly at a read health and requesting medical attention and they just skidaddle. I hate these players who care more about their stupid stats than they do the whole team. It totally bugs me that EA even put in a stat system in here because the majority of these players play for stats and looking good. I could care less about your stats, if you can't be a team player, you mean NOTHING.
RANT OVER.
I agree with you that it is annoying and on public servers some people use the kits and don't think about handing out med packs or ammo, i play medic the most myself and am aware of whats going on...infact probably spend most of my time running around doing that rather than shooting people, i look at the mini map to see if anyone is near needing healing and also aware of people that need reviving.
Although you statement is at the end is a little contraditory as if they care that much about their stats they would give out the ammo. mde packs & ammo = supply points = higher stats
Re: Is it just me or do support/medics play with their volume off?
I've only had people low on health and armour run / drive away from me while I was trying to fix them!
Really hate that.. also had medics run away from me when I was desperately asking for first aid.. one even made it a point to keep running in a beeline away from me so i started firing at him with the DAO (at range, light damage but might make him pull out the medic pack) and blew him up with the gas can beside him.. and he punished for the teamkill!
I generally find people low on ammo easier to top up as they tend to hold their positions when they are low on ammo. Also whenever I play support I look at the minimap a lot and drop bags at each red circled player I come across.
Does anyone else have the bug where they see someone low on ammo (i.e. red circle around their dot on minimap), go up to replenish them and it turns out they don't need ammo at all?
Re: Is it just me or do support/medics play with their volume off?
MINI MAP!!! There have been so many times that people shout Medic, and then they immediately sprint off! Guess what shows up in your mini map when you yell that you need health? A BIG red cross over the medics that are close to you. I chased a guy for ages trying to get give him health, but no he just ran away. Luckily he chanced upon an enemy and was killed. Guess who didnt revive him? hee hee

There are different degrees of ammo need. A light orange/red mean they have a partially depleted clip and do not need a new clip. Once it turns red, they will be able to accept the bag. Go sit w/ an AT guy and you can rack up some good ammo giving points!
