EA should make some custom maps RANKED

What other choices does he have, there is only one or two populated unranked servers running mods i can think of. Even then you won't see these filled and not everyone can play on them due to high pings.

he has plenty of choices,he either plays the game ranked or none ranked or play single player or dont play the game at all,
no body forces any body to play the game if its so bad why does he still play it an if he dosnt still play it why is he in here makin posts?
its called choice an every body has them.
but yes i do agree adding custom maps to ranked servers would be great an a whole new start.
an it tells you some thing when the custom maps arent full like you posted,
it could mean 2 things they are either not playing the game or only play ranked servers inwhich i'd say 80-90% play any way.
so they can get higher ranks an unlocks thats what bf2 is all about

an what is it with petty little fockers moanin about peps spellin mistakes.
some times i swear the threads are full of sad little fockers who go through the threads pickin the mistakes up just to sound clever an important.

Typo's fixed for him. I think that EA should take a look at Custom maps, if they were open to it, you could have TBF2 or other fansites take votes on the best maps to forward to EA.

Have like a monthly poll on which map should be submitted to EA. But EA would have to be open to it in the first place.

I would be contented with a client side stat monitoring program that tells my statistics. That would be real cool, and it has nothing do with EA/Dice and would prevent stat padding since the statistics would be avaliable only for yourself and noone would want to show off. I think I will make a request for the MODders :)

A handful of play tested and ranked custom maps would be nice.... The current set of official maps are getting a little old. How people can play 24/7 Karkand over and over is beyond my comprehension.

Even if the custom maps would be allowed in ranked servers, it doesn't mean that people would actually bother to even download them. In 42 and V all the custom maps were basicly allowed in any server but I don't remember ever playing any one of them except the ones in mods (and most of them were pretty crappy anyway..).

As long as you're paying for booster packs, don't expect to every see a ranked custom map.

I enjoy seeing my statistics. However, when some of the more anticipated mods are released I will be playing them. I have never cared about the ranks, and wish it were never implemented. NO ONE wants to play on unranked servers. The effects of "official" ranking are rarely positive for the community. The stats are only an EA method of controlling the community...and it works perfectly. Makes an unranked server a ghosttown. The only work unranked servers get is match play.

If the mods are as good as they look, I will play them and gladly renounce the terrible idea of the EA stats implementation. I just hope I'm not alone in these mod servers.

erm i think this is already in use i think its called none ranked servers doh,
the main part of bf2 is ranked servers an the ranks/weapons,
if not why did you buy the game?

No one plays on unranked servers, doh. The vast majority of players play on ranked servers, double doh. The main part of BF2 being the ranks/weapons is YOUR opinion. There's quite a few opinions out there from people that could not care less for stats, I myself included. Oh yeah, I bought the game to play, not to stare at my stats all day long.

You're so right about the unranked servers being ghost towns and EA using the stats system to control the community. They probably looked at the success of HL and all of the custom maps and mods it has and decided that they could make money by trapping players with the stats system thus being the sole proprietor of new content.

I wish it could be like SOURCe which is you find a server with a custom map you click on it and download it right then and there. It also would add to fun like have you ever surfed in CS? its so fun. Can you imagine Bf2 surfing with jets and stuff.... You could go off the ramp and land on a friendly jet and stuff.. I woudl have a blast. But would never happen due to how many people are upsesed with their ranks..
