Thanks for all the help, as well as the video showing it can be done. I agree there are some pretty crappy gunners out there, and playing on single player does help a gunner get better; however this *IS* a team game, and the lonewolf helo pilots do make it damn near impossible for some people to get any helo time in, which I do find really lame; same with the solo bomber pilots who go in solo just to get all the kills for themselves.

Just my US $.02, and again, thanks for all the feedback. I didn't want this to turn into a "ZOMG SOLO HELO PILOTS SUXXXX/HAXX!!!!" thread, but it took that path on it's own. If you have the skill, good for you. I still look forward to putting a tank round in your copter's a$$ though =)

I've said it before, but it's worth repeating: give your gunner/pilot a chance. If he fails to perform like you think he should, politely request that he seek another way of helping out the team: by limiting your ability to use the helicopter efficiently, he's being an impediment to your team's victory, so it's sometimes necessary to "eject" the noobs... if you'll pardon the expression.

There is a distinct difference between a pilot who can and likes to fly solo, and a pilot not allowing a gunner or TKing a gunner...

I have only once TKed a gunner... But let me explain...
It was on Kubra Dam and he thought my flying "r0xorz" or so...
I told him over Voice how to use TV, but he said he thought that was too hard... He refused to stay out, eventhough when the chopper spawned and he got in, I suicided and spawned at the other unused chopper (he simply suicided and spawned next to me again, couse he could not fly he said)...
and he got me my first and only purple heart...

Next spawn, right there and then, I TKed him and left the squad and vowed to TK anybody like him from then on... (It was incredibly frustrating, couse flying alone, I usually end up nr1 or 2)

But I had a good nights sleep and decided it was ME who needed an attitude change... (That gunner guy really was having fun beeing in the chopper with me, eventhough we got shot down time after time)
Anyway, I have not TKed ever since...

I have a really fast computer and usually spawn so fast at the beginning of a round that I always try to take off alone... Hoping nobody will spam the "requesting pickup" behind me...
If someone does get in or requests a pickup, I fly him towards a gray flag and ask him to get out... If he doesn't, well, then I will just have to make due with him or I will go gunner myself and let him fly or jump out over an empty chopper...

Once fired, what you see on the TV screen, is the camera feed comming from the missile...

yes, that was my understanding of it. :)
