PlaneWhore here here! Please some one call in some favours, sleep with the DICE patch team, do anything to make this happen.

I don't understand where you people think the J10 is magical.

I have pwnd my share of J10s (ESPECIALLY with the F18)

The key is making sure the J10 pilot is a noob. :)

all things being equal.. yes.. the J10 normally owns. But nothing like some fool pfc getting into a J10.. its too much plane for most noobs.

also.. I have been in the j10 (and mind you I am a decent pilot.. not l33t but decent) and had some uber jetwhore zoomie pwn me dozens of times.

I would say 75% of the time the pilot makes the plane. 25% of the time its just the J10 being sweet.

I reckon that Planewhore's suggestions would make flying better - it is pretty much impossible to do anything against a reasonably good J10 pilot and having very similar flight-models with variable "extras" would even things up - there's nothing worse than repeatedly being knocked out of the sky by some-one you can normally own just because they're in a J10.

However, while the planes may not be matched, the maps as a whole are - on most chinese maps the chinese base can be captured. Also, of course the Chinese don't get a bomber so while they might rule air-to-air, they don't get to rain tonnes upon tonnes of bombs on the USMC!

I reckon there are only 2 maps where it really is a problem (ie, where playing as USMC you get killed by poor/average pilots in J10s without ever being able to do anything about it) - Wake Island (although the Chinese airbase can be captured, it's fairly difficult to do with J10s knocking everything airborne down) and Dalian Plant, where the chinese base can't be captured and as there seems to be a shorter than normal distnace between the carrier and the chinese airfield, I spend half the time being shot by J10s before I've even got clear of the carrier!

In short, if the planes were evened out, these 2 maps would be fairer but the other chinese maps would put the PLA at a disadvantage!

The only maps that are very unbalanced are the chinese air maps, thats it. Every other map for the most part have balanced aircraft for both teams.

When a pilot dominates on non chinese maps, it is because of the opposition in the air as well as the opposition on the ground that just isnt up to snuff.

Ground AA works, A2A missiles hit much more frequently, there is no more excuse for it. Just take it or do something about it.

I personally agree with both sides of this debate. First of all, yes the J-10 is definitely over powerful. But oh well. i myself is a pilot and I pretty much just fly all the time. Even when I am in an F-35, I can still manage to shoot down a J-10 is I really want to.

Its not about whether you find it unfair that you're on the U.S. and whine about it, its really about what team mates you have. If you have ****ty team mates who can't fly but only fight over planes and you yourself (this is like 90% of BF2 population) can't fly but simply want to because its cool, then sucks for you. BF2 is really about team play, not the pilots who just base rape. I spend most of the time killing other jets and helis that are direct threats to my team's tickets.

Most pilots will simply laugh and chuckle as you complain about how you are raping them. If people feel like they are being mistreated by the J-10, then practice off line, get some skill and go shoot them down. Whining doesn't win you points. No matter how good a plane is, if the pilot is good enough, anything can be done, seriously... anything, even F-35s killing J-10s.

The ONLY.....ONLY way, to kill a J-10 in air with a JSF, is to sneak behind him and wait until he is in a straight line and shoot your cannons at him and DONT MISS one shot. They will die in ~3 seconds of continous fire, but still... 3 seconds... what kind of retard dosnt realize that someone is shooting at him? So what does the J-10 do?... He Breaks out of the JSF's L.O.S. and does circles and goes up high (as we all know... JSF can't keep up in a "circle war") and eventually finds you and kills you. Even if you are like me and continuously look behind you... If he gets behind you, there is about a 95% chance you are going down.

The 5% is the amount of completely retarded pilots that enter J-10's, so you can just slow down in the air and they fly right past you.

AND............ like some other guy said.... its not only maneuverability issues, It's also the fact that missles shot by a JSF, will NOT hit, let alone kill, a J-10 in the air*. It goes straight past the ****in thing.

*You can only use missles on a J-10 if it is sitting still on the runway, or if it is only halfway across the runway and still taking off/going slow.
Huh... If you use your buffer right you can get away from a J-10. I have no problems with them these couple of days. And also its not that hard to shoot them down.

... and one year later, J10s are still unbalanced. Why are we reviving this? EA/Dice won't change anything at this point, so any discussion on the subject is ultimately pointless.

mmmm im just jumping into this head first but i couldn't help myself.

First - i dont know about any earlier patches but i can tell you this, the F-18 is equal to that of the J-10. personally, i'd take the F-18 over any plane any day.

and Second - your idea for plane special abilities/tweaks is not the first but is probably one of the worst. what good is 600 rounds x 2 = 1200 rounds of ammo on an f-35? will i really win the battle vs a 30% faster j-10? or maybe the extra 6 missiles that we'll randomly throw on the top of the wings will do the trick. better yet, we'll bomb the j-10 before it takes off with those 2 extra bombs, all 4 will never miss! lol

before you get all hot inside and dream up a world of special abilities for each plane, address the issue at hand first. the issue being stated by you and many others including myself, nerf the j-10. THEN and only then, worry about your silly little special abilities. i say, keep it simple.

theres a big bug, lets hope they re-write, you see it more on Euro forces, only exaggerated.

pilots will know what I mean.

                            meh, nevermind : )

                                ROFLMAO!

Ok, I can understand when people revive old threads and "add" something or "continue" with it. But when people jump in and start flaming, or responding to people who posted here almost a year ago, it makes me question human intelligence.

You few gentlemen are without a doubt, degenerates.
