PlaneWhore Part Deux or: How I Learned to Stop Worring and Love Easy Mode
Re: PlaneWhore Part Deux or: How I Learned to Stop Worring and Love Easy Mode
I've only managed to see the start of it due to youtube timing out, and filefront going at 1kb/s. However i laughed so hard at the guy in the jeep as you were taking off, i can't count how many times i see people do that to me.

Part of the reason I hate planes in this game. Sure it's fun to be flying. But otherwise, you're wasting you time either watching some guy on your team racking kills (depriving the rest of the team) or you are getting blown up constantly without any kind of defense. I know you're thinking AA or stinger, but for some reason they show up on the screen of pilots. I would be interested in a mod that allowed some sort of UFO that just pwned all planes. Then lets see what kind of K-D ratio all the planewhores would get.
Re: PlaneWhore Part Deux or: How I Learned to Stop Worring and Love Easy Mode
Dont hate on me, but I just bought BF2 like a month ago, when the 1.2 patch came out, actually i bought it the day the patch did come out, so i never played 1.12, within the last week i started flying, and i still see that its hard for me to shoot down Air to Air, my missels dont do crazy stuff, but ive seen them come after me doing 360's, once i fire if im not within range and keep the other plane in my hud, i dont get contact at all.. o and PlaneWhore was you talking about the bug in the hud as friendlies showing up without a X in the during bombing, that **** happens to me all the time.. btw.. i find it challenging still to fly, getting better, aver 15/5 k/d ratio flying...
But what i was getting at was how exactly did you have to fly Air to Air to kill the other plane in 1.12?

I might regret asking, but...
PW, how much are you looking forward to the A-10 in Armoured Assualt?
I shutter to think...
Edit: trying to watch the vid (man, that server is sloooooow!).
Just managed to get about 3/4 of the way through and noticed what ya claim to be impossible. You (briefly) dropped in on an f-23, he dropped flares (too soon), and you fired off 3 missiles (enough to kill him), before breaking off (without confirming the kill). The F-23 survived.
Interesting. I thought you claimed that was impossible?

Haven't even heard of this game, but if it's anything like aviation in BF2, not very.

No such thing as dropping flares too soon. Most likely, the missiles went after the flares, or they went after another target like a Blackhawk sitting on the carrier. As I said these things can be unpredictable, but they'll always hit at least something.
On a side note, if these servers really are that slow and any one (with bandwidth to spare) feels like mirroring the video I'd glady link it up on the main thread.
