where the heck is the fun of that!?!?!?!?!?! i went on a plane once (very unexperienced...) and there were like 4 other plane whores tryin 2 get it so when i got it they all went infront of me and made me kill all of them... and so ive hated them EVER SINSE U ****EN PLANE WHORE FREAKS!!!!!!!!

because it was a damn good thread and it pisses me off that after 1.2 they just didnt leave aa alone till they properly fixed it. in 1.2 the entire balance of a map was not ruined by the ineffectivness of aa. in 1.3, its bah, kinda pointless to even try n use static aa.

In accordance with Mr. Smith , he's analyzed these problems a great deal, more than most in regards to balance. Reading his ideas helps me understand the game's flaws with more insight. The fact there are underlying "flaws," especially in the sense of balance proves that some recent purchasers of this game get the short end of the stick when they are inexperienced or not adept to a certain game whoring aspect or the defence thereoff.

With that said, there's no reason to start the argument that i'm talking nerf something. There are many tweaks that could help gameplay tremendously for everyone.

I for one, would like it if flying a jet were as hard as any task battlefield offers, as well as the choppers (which i know in many respects already are the hardest to master). However once these highest rl dollars of hardware becomes mastered, they are simply the most deadly killing machines in use today. I know we're not talking real life. The anti-air needs to be proximity ignited, so the missiles do not fly off course and hit friendlies (it still happens).


On the note of learning to fly, with DICE's implementation of coop, the beginners can take advantage of the tool they've been given. you can now practice flying a jet or chopper against bots. If you can successively take down bot choppers and jets efficiently and not be shot down, it might be time to try your skills in the ranked servers.

I've technically not played BF2 in about a month, I've went onto it like once and that was yesterday but disconnected after a minute, same old bs. What happened you ask?

On Zatar at the MEC airfield I went over to the Jet, someone else got in so I moved to the side, he got M95'd out of the cockpit by some German on my team, the German hoped in and the Plane got blown up by someone firing a rocket into it by someone else on my team. So the MIG spawns again and some other teammate jumps in and then someone throws C4 on it, then the guy in the MIG reverse's back then gets out, so then a pvt jumps in and turns the plane then moves forward and runs over a couple of teammates, they both punnish then the guy blows the C4.

I just can't be bothered with that crap anymore, its just stupid and pointless and it happens more and more.

On topic PlaneWhore, you and Colony are somewhat alike, you both baserape over and over with the Jet, you both spawn camp, base camp etc. Only difference is your a J-10 whore and I guess he uses all the Jets.

Really PlaneWhore, stats are stats your a stat whore and want to try show off, by wasting hours of your life spawn camping and raping the carrier all day long, just so you can post on a forum saying ''look at my stats I own you''. PlaneWhore I'd say you suck at infantry, Colony too. But most people who spend all their times in Jets aren't very good at infantry.

On a more serious note, has any of this happened in BF1942, I haven't really played it to take notes on these things, but from people who have played it. Did you have these arrogant son of a bitches going on forums and saying ''im teh bestests players ever look at my score'' etc. Did you have anyone complaining about Jets or whatnot saying ''omg teh germanz jet is ovrpowad nef it dwn ea'' or is this all something that came along with the stats?

Sometimes I can be quite successful in keeping jets on the ground, just by the expident of shooting them with M95. It's rare, yes, but it happens.

Additionally, at this point I'd like to point out that I just read the first 80 posts of this thread (again, obviously) and have been reminded of why my hate for PlaneWhore was justified.

For the record: I play more unranked and LAN, than I play online. I have a greater-than-5 K;D in AA, and that is for very good reasons.

There are reasons every time. No doubt PlaneWhore likes the J-10, because he wins in it. In anything else, he smells. He never talks about his skill in a tank, his skill on foot, and god forbid you ever see him talk about his personal skills in AA. Particularly static AA.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned that good pilots will own a map if they know where the static AA is. True. Static AA typically has a poor field of vision, and a lot of obstructions to compete with. Wake Island is a perfect example.

I commend colony for choosing the 32 player variant of Op. CleanSweep, as it employs MAA (mobile AA, for the nublets). Most of my kills with AA come from MAA, as I can use sneak attacks and the like via hiding behind buildings or whatever. Any map where MAA exists generally has a better jet environment, as they can't dominate the map so easily.

OKAY, ANYWAY:

This thread (as far as I can remember) was created to illustrate AA's final emergence as a legitimate way to play the game. Before the release of 1.2, SAA was pointless, and MAA was used basicly as anti-infantry (due to the typically strong cannons on the vehicles). With 1.2, SAA and MAA players actually started to gain kills. Their missles (my missles ) actually hit the target they were locked on to, couldn't be shaken (unless under extenuating circumstances, as mentioned previously in the thread). However:

The guns didn't change. Neither did combat vs Helicopters.

Why? Because helicopters weren't invincible before 1.2. Sure, they were strong (-er, longer TVM reach, more armour, stronger cannons, more pilot missles).

Jets, from the beginning of the game til the present day have been the single contributing factor for my love of karkand, sharqi, and Daqing. There was a brief pause once, from the terrible nooby wrath of the average jet pilot (the kind who concentrated only on bombing, who didn't bother taking out bombers, heli or other fighters), and that was found in 1.2.

The golden age of 1.2 ended just as quickly as it started, and now look where we are: Jian-10 is untouchable, missles lose lock mid-flight, F-35B has an enormous A-rse for a hitbox, Su-34's profile allows it to avoid missles easily. Not to mention, that thanks to all the bitching people did about "balance" between air and ground power, the ultimate result has been 1.3.

Are you happy now? Are you really? Souljah says he CBF playing because of the current state of the jets. They're so easy to pilot all the tk-nubs are using them (and I concur, the rare times I fly I have been tked either in, or running to it) and further more there are hundreds of threads detailing how J-10 is too strong, or, more accurately, how American aircraft are too weak.

Is this what you jet whores wanted? Is this what you had in mind? Coz 1.3 is what you're getting!

I lament the end of 1.2.

i dont care if you like flying the planewhores are jerks. there attitude stinks 'i only help myself not the team' and that is whati hate how they will comprimise somoneelses life in-game to fly a plane. that is stupid flying is fun , but it is boring . i.e on wake us cap china main , i see 2 tanks rushing for a f-18 instead of holding back enermy amour that is coming. therefore got me killed that's what pisses me about them .half the time if i find one on the carrier i will just tk him until he leaves the server
