LOL I got my Vet and Basic the real way... and today in the TBF2 Ranked server, I found an afk and killed him about 12 times then the afk went not-afk (sorry about my grammar -Non-afk >.>) and then I got 2 more knife kills of 2 snipers then round was over...

The expert knife is impossible IMO...

although some people have it, i think its just impossible for me

Got my basic knife badge more or less by chance in the most unlikely map/place, Cleansweep. On the hill next to the MEC attack helo pad. Just ran up there as Spec Ops and knifed a few people. Two runs did the job, they must've been blind.
Vet was on Mashtuur as Assault/FN2000 kit during a long round on a 64 player server with only around 30 players on. Spent the entire round flashing then stabbing. Worked a treat.

Try to get large maps with little people like... (64P map with 30P in it)

You get longer time and since its less people, you dont really have to worry about other people coming up behind you and capping you.

Also, you can be a commander (If people dont get ****ed off at you) and use the UAV and Scan to your advantage. Just scan the place, UAV the target you want to go for, and just stalk, and kill!

Yeah, no matter how hard i try, I just can;t get this badge but it goes back to luck.

My friend said you wait at enemy spawn points at Karkand and do it, that's how he got his and how people we know got theirs. I do that but somehow someone always comes from another alley and shoots me.

I earned it the hard way sometime in January. My basic and veteran were easy to get for me. However, I did run into that "OMG YOU'RE A PRIVATE NOW SRY LOL" bug on the server when I first went for my Vet. Knife, so when I thought I was getting my Vet...the Basic badge popped up. I was midly annoyed.

The Expert took a few tries. I went on Sharqi and came close a lot of times...my second to last attempt found me with 17 kills running towards a sniper facing away from me when the round ended. Needless to say, I shut down my computer for the rest of the night after that.
The next day, though, I was on Sharqi again looking for that last kill. And then I saw it. It was like God had ordained it for me. Two snipers and a medic were running towards the City Entrance point, and all three dolphin dived over the sandbags there, with me running down the alley, knife in hand. I caught up, jumped over and managed to kill two, followed by that most beautiful drum cadence and the shiney new golden badge.

It was quite a pleasent day ^_^

Persistence, Persistence, Persistence...I just got mine on Karkland, gotta be aggressive, don't be scared to get into the fray of things especially in hotel and square areas. It took me 3 rounds before I got it! God Damn I finally got it! Just don't give up and don't get down on yourself! I'm glad I got it now because my first sergeant is coming up.

Got mine on Karkand 14/64 players. Was hard with the lack of foot troops, but I overcome with ease and had my 18 kills well before the round ended.
Not a single spawn rape kill. I got mine the respected way :)

to get the Basic/Vet. or Exp. Knife Badge is almost impossible since the last Patch 1.2. You can't Bunny-Hopp and stab the enemy at the same time so the only thing you can do is run like hell and hope to catch the enemy from behind.
i tried on almost every urban map to get the basic knife badge but i can't.
its way to hard. nobody has the balls to have a knife fight!
when i see somebody comes with a knife towards me then i switch to my knife as well. some times i win a knife fight some times not.
i really didn't want to use a trick or sort of help from other clan members to get my badge but right now im sick and tired of this badge and i'm thinking about to ask a clan member for help or go and look for a Knife & Pistol Server only.

In the beginning I found the basic knife badge extremely hard ,

for the veteran, it was actualy easy, one try, and I got it, on karkand.

The expert, well, actualy just got it a few weeks ago , I was going totaly nuts on that badge, went for it at least 15 times .

mostly I ended up around 12 knife kills in a round .

But here it is, and here is how to do it .
- KARKAND = NO , to many nade spamming, to many claymores , you get killed before you reach the enemy

the map for getting this badge is Ghost town , it's an SF map , you almost don't have nade spamming there and not to many claymores .

the perfect situation is 32 players on a 64 map (lasts longuer) , and beeing on SAS team, and the SAS team should have 1 chopper point flag, and the flag closest to the base, then just spawn every time on the flag closest to the main base (not on main base) , and go to the center flag, climb up the ladder to get on the high rooftops , and there are always and always one or two snipers who can be knifed , or some other kit shooting and aiming at the chopper point .

Also watch the roof on the south side, big chance there are enemy's there to.

don't play as a medic, but as a spec ops or sniper, those have zip lines, and you can move fast from one rooftop to another rooftop, picking on snipers.

this way, it still is hard, but after a few times going , you will manage to get it.


As for non SF owners, I don't realy know a map for the expert knife badge, sharqi in the right situation where you can run around the center maybe, but karkand is ruined for this badge, the small alleys needed for the knife kills are now blocked by claymores

anyone who doesn't get the knife and pistol badges the hard way - the real way - are ****ing *******. Only two badges in the game that actually take skill. the rest you get for sucking **** and playing 20 hrs a day.

unlike a lot of people, I did not get mine on karkand.
I acutally found a very easy way to rack up massive knife kills on sharqui.

As MEC, go to the tv station but do not take the flag.
just go up to the very top and stand against the wall where the inside spawn point looks out.

You can instantly knife anyone in the back who spawns there, then you simply run out the top doorway, knife the spawners there (trust me they will always run into the doorway and you can get them point-blank in the face), and finish up with a few snipers who will always be up there zoomed in and not paying attention..

I get around 10 kills on each run before I get killed doing that.

ghost town is a very good map for it, but remember, youy need a good flag situation, so you can rape the roofs .


Best is, run to center, run up first stairs into that building (sometimes there is an enemy there to) , then run to roof, check roof (if enemy he is looking at other side prone) , then jump on ladder to get on the high roof .

When high roof is cleared, hide there, and wait untill some other guys spawns .

I promise, after a few times, you get 18 knife kill in a round !!

(EDIT : I see you don't have the basic knife badge yet, well, getting 7 knife kills there is pieve of cake, one try only)

I got my expert on Sharqi.
It took me about 2-3 days of trying and about 5 purple hearts but I got it in the end.

The best method I found was to lurk around the servailance post and catch spawnwers :) not nice I know.

Also try chasing behind people. Try following someone on your side and let them get a couple of shots in before your leap in front and stab the person in the throat :)

Since I was awarded my expert knife badge I have tried a few more times to get 18 knife kills in a round but this time try and do it with as few deaths as possible. Its more for self satisfaction + it is VERY VERY useful in combat if you are good with a knife. A knife is one hit kill and one your clip runs out in your gun, changing to a knife & stabbing someone can save your life :)
