Knife combat badge

I've recently received my veteran knife combat badge. Honestly, it seemed impossible when I was a buck sergeant, but it wasn't hard at all. Took two rounds of trying to get it, that's it.

I have a couple questions, or polls, for all of you though.

1) How many of you earned this the hard way (like I did), or got it with help from clan/friends/kinife servers?

2) The expert badge, who has it and how did you get it?

3) Who has no ability with the knife? I, and many others, will give you tips.

i got it in december, it was pretty easy really, its the same amount of kills as the basic, which is strange, but anyway, i dont have the expert, thats too hard for me, i got my vet on iron gater in the first 100 ticks, the mec were on the ship and i went mad , i always knife people shooting at other people while standing or prone, easy kills.
and sometimes i miss and they see me, sometimes there good sports and take out a knife and duel with me, but mostly they just shoot me :), gl with the expert.

got basic and vet the hard way (not cheating) both on Karkand running around with the knife out got shot a lot but still got the badge I was going for

OMG im still trying it every few times, ill relly try one day for it. Im missing that badge only...

My K/D ratio was crap during the times I went for it...but it is possible. You just have to suck it up and dedicate a round to it.

I recommend Karkand map for doing it, and just stick around the hotel and the square - hopefully you have a UAV happy commander that will help you out.

UAV was the key for me, and I only got the expert by the skin of my teeth.

got mine on sharqi and the uav was a great help as u can tell which direction the guy is standing and as long as they dont no ur there u can come up behind them

I got my expert kinfe badge at a underpopulated Karkand 64-player server... The roud lasted for about an hour... My K/D were 21-35 after the round.. But is was worth it..

im upto 13,500 pts and only need my knife and pistol badges to get first sergeant, im gonna have to have to suck it up for them and let my k/d ratio take 'one for the team'

I'm not sure how I'll get the veteran one... the only way I can knife people is if they're lying prone and that usually takes two stabs too... I think my game lags so much it's impossible for me to get a clean knife kill. I've even stabbed someone and heard that knife in flesh sound and they were still alive. I haven't even bothered trying to get it yet.

Yes, never play on one or you risk losing your profile and points. Not to mention those of us who EARNED it look down on cheaters and stat padders.

I can't even get basic. Tried all day yesterday on Karkand and Oman. The best I got was 3 kills. Too many times I would have a guy lined up only to have a teammate kill him with a gun before I could knife him. Really frustrating. Running around with a knife only is a great way to die over and over.

LOL, I must be a knife god.

I got mine the super, super, super hard way.

I decided sniper would be the best kit to try it with (stealth and mobility) even though I never really played as sniper before (now I'm usually sniper). I used solely stealth and speed (only one or two victims ever shot back). My first try was on Dalian Plant (not easy) and I missed it by only one kill. Then, the next map was Fushe Pass, so I tried it there. I not only got it, but I was having so much fun I kept trying and ended up with eleven knifings. I finished the round with a positive k/d ratio (8 deths). And I had been ground pounding only while in combat (jeeps for quick movement only), and I had only used my pistol once in an emergency (this is true for both maps).

So when I hear that people cheated (used friends, etc.) or get it after repeated attempts at karkand just by mad scrambles (no stealth/caution) and end with a very bad k/d, I have to laugh.

Got my veterans knife on Wake. I just hung around the airfield and caught the enemy coming into the base from the side. As a sniper they seemed to miss me in the grass more often than not.
