the M4A1/L85A1 both have better zoom capabilities and only slightly less damage

Before the patch, I'd agree with you, but now the SVD can actually snipe pretty good and med and long range. I'm usually a sniper, and I usually use the L96 at very long range only, but the other day I was playing around with the SVD and I had a good old time running around the middle of the street and firing standing up like I was assault or something. Averaged about 3 to 1 k/d too. Not a half bad toy.

I guess if I really had to choose only one primary weapon, it'd be the L96 since I'm usually sniper.
The versatility of the AK would be very tempting though.

I'd go with the PKM. Powerful enough to take down a blackhawk, and with single shots, its deadly. They buffed it pretty well on 1.2.

Yes. It is. It's an under-barrel grenade launched for the G3a3 rifle.

I can't decide. I love so many of the guns for their own special reasons.

Of course I can tell you that I'd be wonderful if I NEVER used the P90 or S12K ever again.

I like the S12k. It gets the kill if you're within' 25m. Although, my only other option is the Jackhammer on MEC so... yeah... not very many options there.

At the current state of BF2? Probably the PKM, as it's just so overpowered now.

Though I am a huge fan of the G36E. It's a godsend for medics, and I play medic almost exclusively.
