    Realistic Commander guide

Realistic commanders guide (without the BS)

This is is after the 1.2.

I've noticed some commander guides where they all start with
"UAV is a little plane that bla bla bla" everyone knows the game so
    let's just cut that.

Basically, you can't really give ANY real advice because all teams
are different, all players have different goals, all maps are different
and so on. But I'll give you a few tips that help me out a lot.

    1st
Do not HIDE and and just sit there the entire round, fight any way
you can. If a tank/APC is avalible, USE IT and drive to the front line!

    2nd
Commander is ALLWAYS an engineer, and NEVER uses supplyboxes
to repair (unless you're at the other side of the map).
Keep dropping supply boxes as close to your own flags as possible,
also next to armor that needs it.

    ARTY
The most important thing. Most of the matches are won by ticket
loss due to kills. Not to flags. So dropping good arty (20-30 arty kills
IAR) is a certain way to get ahead.

When the game is tight at the end, both teams with 15-20 tickests,
a good arty barage wins the match. Don't just drop arty as soon as
t's ready, wait for the right moment.

    Important
Forget dropping arty if there is 1-2 player capping a flag, No one
GIVES a ****. let them have the flag, It usually leads to nothing on
most maps. Use your arty where there's lot's of enemies.

Lay AT mines. Block your base. Period.

Allways repair damaged assets in a vechicle if possible, it's 3X
    faster.

In any game, at any time, HALF of your team will be complete
n00bs and wouldn't know how to play the map, where to go and
    how to win.

    That's just life.

How to be the perfect commander : personally, I'm good
with the tank. If I'm commander and I have the chance to take the
tank, I will, ALLWAYS! Screw those who say "commander
command" gimme the tank. BS. When I'm commander and in a
tank, I can UAV myself,resupply/repair myself, and drop arty. That
way (and I'm not joking) I get around 50 kills on any map, any
given time. 50 kills is 1/5 of the total tickets taken from the other team.

I know the maps and what flag to attack etc. so I
do it. Don't waste time explaining to your temmates where to
attack and how. It's very rare that squads actually pay attention to
    the commander.

I have seen n00bs driving a tank and only have 5 kills.
That's just pathetic. If they get in the way and demand you TK
them (because you have the tank), so be it. Take one for the team.

Forget giving orders , doesn't work, maybe in clan matches
Just do it yourself! Storm them (flagcappers) with your
    Jackhammer.

This will get you loads of kills and points. And that's the fun,
completely owning them. Most of the time I'll end up with more
actual kills than anyone on the team + the arty kills after that.

But you have to seriously be "good" to drive a tank in Karkand and
know where the enemy is, where your teammates are, drop the
arty at a good place etc. Otherwise there will be serious mutiny
votes against you :) Happened a lot to me in the beginning.

When you master it, you'll end up owning almost everyone. It's
    priceless.

    Example
Some times I'll join a team on serious loosing streak, TK for the
tank (MEC, karkand) command and just turn everything around.
Sometmies you have to sacrifice a n00b or two in order to have an
    even match.

    Quite selfish, isn't it?

      Re: Realistic Commander guide

This is the first commander guide I've seen that actually understands the reality of the game and gives solid advice.

This *is* the way to command.

        Re: Realistic Commander guide

aside from advising the commander to be an engineer (which is a bit obvious to good players) that guide made no sense - basically you want the commander to be an uber grunt with instant access to godmode (supply crates) and the redeemer (artillery)? wrong game bub

          Re: Realistic Commander guide

I seen this before . Why does everyone believe a comander should be an engineer? When I am a comander, I am concentrating on the game play and how the enemy is setting up.

I agree supply crates should not be used on art,uav and sat. Someone in a squad or lone wolf should be an engineer and beaware when the comander's assets need repaired.
As a spec op guru...Every time a supply crate is next to an asset, I stick two blocks of c-4 to it, resupply myself and blow it away.

Artillary is bested used when there is alot of troops there, but I see alot of comander place their drops too close to their own. I usually drop it a little behind the enemy, then my troops can :ar15: on the flewing soldiers.
I see other guides on this forum, but a fighting comander is is only needed if the troops need his help. And yes the tank is the best vehicle and a sniper is the best kit. You can place those clamores around you on ladders to proctect you.

I get it... this is irony, right?

Taking this "guide" and doing everything in reverse is a winning strategy.

actually, this is a rather bad guide. First, if you are a commander your armor whore won't give you much point (1 point as opposed to 2 points), and because you aren't focused at commanding, it won't give you as much commanding points neither.

It's not about the "points" but the team win. Kills means enemy ticket loss.

That's absolutely pathetic. You are totaly ruining someone else's game! Eurgh, I can see your type already. Do you kick vote the players on the other team coz they are better than you?

It's a TEAM game, not a solo "im gunna pwn everything, including my own team" game. You suck.

:| You see you are the kind of guy who ruins the game. If you got one round in a team with a squad leader trying his best to give orders while some f***tard commander drives around in a tank, being selfish with the assets, trying to whore stats, you would get very very angry.

                      That f***tard is you.

Most people can win consistently without resorting to this. Id rather command to help my team.

But aahh anyway despite your reply it does seem like irony as Wargimp said :p.

While your stats look impressive I have to say that I only use your tactics if the Map started with the minimum number of players and every man was needed on the front lines. Beyond that I let others take armour while I concentrate on being the best Commander on the Map. Someone has to be unselfish. Clearly, that's not you.

I started reading your guide with interest! Yet by the time i'd reached...
                              Important
Forget dropping arty if there is 1-2 player capping a flag, No one

My opinion of you dropped through the floor and i realised, not only what you (don't) bring to the Battlefield table, but also why you started this thread in the first place.
I think i've got you sussed however.
I bet you're one of those people who, if you don't get commander at the start of a round, mutiny vote/spams until you get it!
Your statements are full of contradictions too...
How to be the perfect commander : personally, I'm good
with the tank. If I'm commander and I have the chance to take the

Surely the perfect commander is one who plays the role of a commander and not one who just supplies himself and 'screw' anyone else.
Don't waste time explaining to your temmates where to

                              the commander.
When the commander is a nob like you no wonder, i think deep down you always liked commander mode and wanted to be good at it, but it soon dawned on you though that you were **** and no-one listened to you, so you've taken on the role of 'LONE COMMANDER' knowing that you can be a twat and others will be too busy playing the game to stop you.
But you have to seriously be "good" to drive a tank in Karkand and
                              know where the enemy is
The only reason you're good on karkand is because you know where the enemy is.
                              Example
Some times I'll join a team on serious loosing streak, TK for the

Dear oh dear, i want to really flame you for this comment and this thread as a whole, but that's playing into your hands. I feel better in the knowledge that we're not all like you and i'd love to see you on a server where you're not commander and the tanks are taken.
