    Re: Realistic Commander guide

Well said Boxious, i agree, being a commander is for the team as a whole, i go as commander a lot now and am always being asked for orders, and for the whole they carry them out, this gaib is a real nOob and a lone wolf really and dosn't command at all, thats where he contradicts himself totally, he's a glorified grunt that knows where everything is and has everything to hand, ie supply drops, uav.

I thought playing bf2 was a strategic, TEAM based game and not what he is trying to do! "STATPADDER"

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't take advice about how to win from someone with a Win/Loss ratio barely over 1.5.

Do not HIDE and and just sit there the entire round, fight any way
you can. If a tank/APC is avalible, USE IT and drive to the front line!

          Important
Forget dropping arty if there is 1-2 player capping a flag, No one
GIVES a ****. let them have the flag, It usually leads to nothing on
most maps. Use your arty where there's lot's of enemies.

          I don’t agree with these.

Edit, I don't agree with any of it, go back to CS and leave the commander spot for someone who knows what they are doing.

Stay at your main base and guard it.

The more flags you have the quicker the enemy tickets drop.

Realistic commander guide no BS, except that the whole thing is BS, another contradiction.

I am very good in an APC on karkand and I know that if I was commander I could easy get around 200 points if we win. The thing is that only helps me out, if I am commander then I will get me 100 points points by hiding and helping the team by giving them what they need. If I am not commander then I am going to try to get an APC and roll, and get my 100 points by killing and taking flags. Never both at the same time.

                    Re: Realistic Commander guide

Without a doubt, the UAV is the single most important thing a commander can.

When you take a tank/APC and are fighting (and I have tried this style because of comments like yours and that this is the way to command) you inevitable run into a conflict of interest. It is either go to the commander screen and have the APC/Tank doing nothing for the time you are in there or use the tank/apc while the UAV is idle.

This is practically no chance that you won't be engaged in combat at some point when the UAV is ready.

On top of that, if you are almost constantly watching the commander screen you aren't watching the battle unfold. You don't see what squads are sticking together and can be used effectively. You miss Spec Ops sneaking up to destroy your assests. You missing easy spoots that will lead to easy kills for your team.

Sure, you can make yourself elite with using the UAV and scan for yourself. However, in that case you are literally helping one person with it and not the entire team. A well placed UAV can lead to many kills for numerous members of your team. Maybe you create 10 more kills for yourself, but you lose 2 kills per everyother player on your team, which more than outweighs your 10.

So, unless this is an 8v8 or less or your team is just totally ignoring the tanks/apc then it makes no sense as a commander to take them yourself.

Furthermore, I have found that the more I command, the more people listen to me. If I sit there and communicate with my SLs this almost inevitably leads to the SL following my orders and communicating to their squads. Being commander does take work. It is not just sit back and smoke a cig and sip champagne. . .you need to be constantly aware and constantly communicating.

Pretty much the only thing I agree with in your post is that the commander should be an engy. I hate having to waste supply crates repairing arty when i could be dropping them next to our tanks and APCs.

Now lets not confuse the terminology here. It's true that he is not commanding, but helping himself only. It's also true that he is a big as$hole of a person, but he is far from noob. We all know how he does it, but still his stats are very impressive.

how do you know how I am in person?

Have you ever played with me BTW?

And I'm commanding cause I want my team to win, if they can't on their own, I have to do it.

for example, free tank and APC in our base free, we're getting owned by the other team, and my teammates are running around basecamping and trying to chopper whore.

So I take the tank go fighting and of course... wouldn't you?

Wanna hear my commander's tactics Armin? When commander, I do my best my team to win by literally commanding, and supporting my troops, not by stealing the vehicles from them and supporting myself only. But if we are loosing by a lot(which rarely happens when I'm commander), then I resign the commander's position and fight my a$$ off to score points.

so you're without a commander, they you'll definetly loose.

I ask my teammates to take the tank, no, they won't, they're all camping at the helicopter pad waiting for the blackhawk to get shot down and to respawn, so they can whore some more.
