"Nice shot. Tank's gone. Moving to cap. Can you provide cover?"
    "No problem"

This is a snippet of convo that occured a few nights back that shows the two way street of good teamwork. I was the grunt/squad leader hidng outside the walls of the Woodyard as support. Had a sniper with me who was the one who nailed the AA operator.

Just another one of those memorable moments that keeps me lovin the game.
This is the type of call I get all the time. As a chopper pilot I always try and support attacking or defending ground troops. When I get the call I ask them to spot them, unless they already have, then its a matter of seconds later the enemy armour/attacking/defending force is wiped out then our guys can cap the flag and move onto the next. Rinse and repeat.

Well, ya weren't on so I had to call on Digger to do the armour removal bit.

^^ Only works if the helicopter pilot is in your squad. You'll never see a request relayed from a SL to the commander to another SL.

Of course, this is also why I advocate richer communications tools for SLs to work with each other.

I can only recall one time myself when I was playing sniper and had just spawned on Op Clean Sweep and an enemy main tank rolled up to my flag. Being alone, I ducked behind a building before he saw me, and Q-spotted him. Within seconds, I heard a "ten-four" over the comm and about 10 seconds later the tank was blown to Hell by a wired guided missile.

Out of the cloud of debris and smoke that was the tank, a Cobra flew in at tree top level and scanned the area while I ran in to re-capture the now neutralized flag. It was great for my morale, I felt like waving to the pilot and gunner.

This is how all chopper crews should play the game - sadly, it's few and far between. Anyone else got any cool moments?
I usually do that (hit "roger") or something to let people know that I heard them and am on the way. Might have even been me. I will disengage myself from a non-spotted or enemy that might be unimportant in order to engage a spotted enemy. Thats why I always tell everyone to spot as much as they can.

Yeah, you folks should spot enemy armor more often. I usually place those targets as my top priority as a Supercobra pilot.

Tis the reason why I play on your server if I want to avoid noob pilots and spawn/point whores. The gunship (assault helo) can be one to turn the tide of the battle if proficiently handled, and of course- used within the right motivations (team support, and not point-whoring).

On other servers I've ever played on- everytime I scream: "SPOT YOUR ENEMIES DAMMIT! I CAN'T SEE EVERYTHING EVEN IF I'M IN THE AIR!", I'm usually ignored, where I can assume they're telling me: "I'm too busy trying to accumulate points to even remotely try for teamplay and effective communication". Especially on Sharqi- everyone know that the TV station spawn point is great for spawn-raping- so they just hover over the TV station ALL ROUND. It pi55es me off.

One point to add- always let the commander know that you've got a spare hand to lend (request orders)- if the commander is a good one, he should know how to strategically place you for the next attack/defense/capture.

Anyhow, I avoid piloting at best- since I'm a meaner, leaner gunner.

This is a good point and its something I always try and do. When I fly I'm a squad leader and always try and communicate over VOIP to the commander and ask him to spot out armour or where I will be the most effective. The commander will then usually point me around the map spotting out targets for me to take out, its especially good when they actually communicate over VOIP and give you a heads up of what to expect and what he wants me to take out.
