Do You Like Patch 1.2 Or Hate It?

I wanna know what people think. I am all for realism and fairness, etc. do I am not looking for a handout but...

I fly the helo. That's basically "what I do" in BF2. Ever since the patch just about any rocket fired into the sky *will* hit me! I am dying easily 3-4x as much and my scores are dropping badly. The armor on the helo has been so reduced that if a little jeep opens up its mounted gun on me I have about 1-2 seconds before I drop from 100% to DEAD! It is just not right. I often spawn, take off and die within seconds 5 or 10 or maybe even 15 times in a row!!! I don't even get a chance to play the game before gun fire, a rocket or (this is another biggee taht is happening now) a friendly jet's missle finds me. I am getting TK'ed like crazy!!!!!

I have been so discouraged, not having a good time at all. I am close to throwing in the towel and installing some new entertainment because BF2 is getting terrible to play for me.

Anyone else feeling like this? I also notice jet pilots are getting shot down like crazy too.

Get out of your helicopter and play with us GI's on the ground then! Since the patch I've been playing in some 16-player servers and it's great. Maybe the new entertainment you're looking for has been there all along

The helicopters are in the game for a reason. Turning the ability of the AA up so high that it will insta-kill you before you can take off from 80% of the map away is plain stupid.

Yeah I'm disappointed with the new helo stats too. The real problem I have is with the small buggies guns that take them down so quickly. Even a blackhawk goes down very very fast to them and before you can react if there are two. Stingers I can usually avoid on most maps but they're a nightmare on some (oman, zatar, daqing); I refuse to play Daqing this patch because of all the stingers and AA on it.

I think the patch was meant for good, but basically turned out worse. With the rush from players, I think they may have missed some final calculations and didn't think about some things. I mean, the patch is helpful in some ways, but in others they really hurt some players more than helped.

I agree the helicopters have been severely deballed, but since there's no way to change the choppers he could try playing a different role instead of shelling out for another game.

I like what they have done with mines and claymores well, i think claymores should be destroyed by nades still but otherwise i hate the patch, its awful.

I don't think it should go that far back but I definitely don't think it should be able to make 180-degree turns 8 times per second and fly across the entire map. That's why we get weird stuff like missiles orbiting oil towers and even trees.

i think more harm was done from this patch than good. not that im upset that they stopped noob-toobers...but that is about all they did

Pre-patch you could not touch Helos if you were infantry, they just circled and killed everyone. I would agree that the helo should be taken by a few hits from a missile, but maybe not quite as quickly as it does now with 50cal. I fly quite often and now at least I do not feel invincible. Dont fly jets but I hear the missiles are really fire and forget!!!!
Maybe roll it back halfway?

It's always gonna be the bunny hoppers vs. the bunny haters; the pilots vs. the infantry; the noob tubers vs non-assault... It's never going to end up where everyone is happy. Only when people decide to adapt and play the game for what it is will they have a good time. Tanks, helos, and bunny hopping will get you far, but tactics and strategy will get you further.

Just like in real life.

Many people that were not as skilled as others were completely happy with the way the patch changed the game. You basically do not need any skills to get around anymore.
The explosives have all been noob proofed, the airpower is about worthless, and the action seems to have slowed down a great deal. I mean, you cannot jump and shoot?

As far as booster/expansion packs are concerned, I am not going to buy any, I dont care if they are $1. Too many things making the game run like crap. Optimizations have to be done and fixing of several types of graphical, audio, and physics problems need to be resolved.

Bugs aside, it's great.
