So far I'm loving the game. It's been spiced up with Special Forces as well. I really think it's getting better all the time. I'm not a pilot though so I have no opinion on that matter. Don't even play maps with planes in them much

Don't you realize that you just bring out the same canned responses every time someone says something to you? You either ask why someone is replying to your post or say that they're seeking attention for saying that you're seeking attention. But since you only seem to be able to conjure up a handful of trollish responses to anything that anyone says you probably won't have anything interesting to say to this, and I must declare that I'm officially bored of you.

It wasn't fair to the other transport choppers but it's kind of ridiculous now... you have a huge minigun that essentially does as much damage as an MG

Re: BF2, going downhill? Your opinion?

Downhill in my case and this is why.

I will have to compare it to Counter-Strike.
                  I still play, today, CS1.6

Because of the clan I am in.
                  rules
no swearing, no whining(bs, wtf, n00b,bull... when killed), no disrespect/name calling/making fun of..., no cheating.
Someone walks in our cs server and breaks the rules, he is banned within minutes because we have great control over our server... we play for fun, nothing else and no one will break it.

I have not yet found a bf2 server that has good admin control and maturity.

I think the game makes it very hard for admins to control all the little kids and to apply the rules. for that reason, it will never have the control of cs.
besides that, the maturity level is the same in every game... there are always retards... its all about finding the server that is best for you.

So... lack of control in the server, having them filling up with little 14 year old noob calling tards ruining everyones fun.

but thats not it, because there are a good couple of servers out there.

It is going downhill because of how hard it is to control + all the bugs and problems the game has just demoralizes most people.

I am playing less and less because of the POINTLESS loading time the game offers ON TOP of the GAME INSTABILITY !

You need at least 5 minutes to join a server mostly because of client data verification and then after 3 to 15 minutes you MIGHT crash to desktop or get disconnected (with maybe 5 to 10 other people at the same time)

64 player public servers are the worst for constant kick votes, (usually a member of one team k/voting the top player of the other team) and it really annoys, then you get the constant teamchat spam /smacktalk/uncouth remarks.

Although it was stated officially that BF 42, and now bf2, were not to be considered war SIMS, I think most want them to be just that. And there is no room for guys jumping 14 times in a row, taking fire, not dying, then spot a nade launcher in your face, killiing you.
It ruins any sense of realism, and ruins any immersion into the game (but not as much as lag)
I watched an Esports pro battlerecorder game i'd read about on here, (can't remember the thread but it was on Gotfrag) and couldn't beleive the ammount of bunny hopping and diving i saw.
Granted it must be the way to not get killed/score points/win games. but its sh*t to watch.
I guess if the other team's doin it you need to, right?

You should also keep your weapon choices for the duration of the round, this would remove the ability to respawn as a better class to suit the current situation and promote squad play and team work.

Why exactly did they have to make it so you don't TK someone for running past your claymore or running over your mine? What they should have done was made it so you can't punish someone for your own stupidity, but instead they made it so you can spam claymores and not have to worry about it. A clan-mate of mine did this just the other night on Iron Gator and racked up 35 kills without firing his weapon once! There's just something wrong with that picture.

I love this game. I think it's a lot of fun and plan to continue playing for a long time, but I wouldn't necessarily disagree with someone who says the game is going downhill. There is going to be a point, where EA/DICE has to dumb down the game so much because of all the bitching and moaning that's gone on since pretty much the beginning, that there just isn't going to be any challenge to the game and everyone will be running around with PKM's and claymores in hand. (Hell, some would argue that we might have already reached that point.)
I personally believe we have reached that point already.

1.03 was the start of the slippery slope in my view and the way it impacted on me. That's when they decided to penalise everyone in every vehicle other than the driver and not allow them to count towards a flag capture. That was dumb in my view. They did this because of the BH and its quick flag captures because people complained about effective teamwork basically, but decided while they were at it to also penalise every other vehicle in the same way. Why is it fair that the guy manning the mg protecting the tank shouldn't receive points for capping a flag?

Attack heli wise I haven't scored 1/3 of the points I use to get in 1.02 because of the way it works when capping a flag since 1.03 If I'm lucky as a pilot I may get 50 points in a round, around 10 kills and the rest comes from the co-pilot. I can get more than that playing on the ground and not being in a vehicle. I can also get a lot more kills on foot. So this heli which everyone complains about being a devastating weapon can't score as high as a regular grunt on foot on average.

I never bunnyhopped or prone jumped or C4 chucked. Those aspects are the only things I like about 1.2 even though bunnyhopping is still there and the way the decided to fix it is dumb, it is better than before. Other than that everything else is worse in 1.2

If the game was the same as 1.02 but with these changes: Can't jump shoot, can't prone jump, delayed the C4 when it could be detonated 3-5 sec timer, GL had a larger radius of effect same as a grenade so if you noob toobed the GL whore would die also, AA was more effective against planes but not an always hit and required skill, planes don't get the super AA, less hitpoints for planes and BH's, flying cow gets mg's equivalent to BH, vehicles take less damage from the terrain, vehicles have more power, all bugs were fixed including red/blue tag etc This would be for me a super patch!

Re: BF2, going downhill? Your opinion?

As it is, this game has one addicting long term feature. STAT HISTORY. I know how many people I've killed over the entire game and other funa assorted things

But I also want new maps really badly. When I used to play Day of Defeat for Half Life over steam there would be new maps every day. I became exetremely good on any new map becuase I knew all of the weapons kits and knew what needed to be used where I saw it. It's that constant adaption that made me good and addicted to that game for 4 years.

As it stands now, everyone knows where the enemy is going to be on a map, and the flow of the game is easily predictable. I really did enjoy the update from the patch. It made ground weapons finally do what they should. BUT WE NEED NEW RANKED MAPS.

                          DAILY/WEEKLY.

Minor pet peaves with this game are
                          more than two claymore drop.
                          Reduced missle load on choppers.
Fix the vote kick system. A kick should only include half the players on YOUR team, and only one/two kick options should be allowed per person over a set amount of time.

I've never had so much of a problem with online gaming as with this game.
I think BF2 does attract the younger people who see nice graphics and ooo choppers.
Other games I used to play the 'noobs' soon left because there was no way they could compete with the well settled in gamers. With BF2 they can jump in a chopper, tank, apc grab a noob tube and get kills.
I think the Stats system has ruined the game aswell with people wanting little pathetic badges and ribbons.

Re: BF2, going downhill? Your opinion?

I think BF2 is a great game 10/10, but its the certain people who plauge the game who destroy its entertainment for other people, its hard for me to get a good game now, I have to take deaths then disconnect.

First off I was in a server which was on Sharqi, I was Sniping on a building and 2 people from this clan were in the MEC chopper raping the bases as the USMC hotel spawn was taken over, they couldn't kill me on about 3 occasions and made it their personal mission to kill me, I was Sniping ffs with the damn L96A1 its not like im gonna get them, but the dude had like 56/1 so just another kill.

Another time on Karkand 3 people with PKM's prone at the entrance to the alleyway, medic was with them so they got healed after nades etc, while they slaughtered my team, they had at least 26/1.

This was all in the last hour.

Anyway its not the game you hate really, I think its because people are p!ssed off with the others who play it, and what ^ said is true, people are so desperate also to make sure there k/d ratio isn't damaged, and if it is they use noobish tactics to get it up.

I think BF2 is sort of going downhill there is a huge increase in idiots and theres no doubt more to come, I think this will end up making the good, non exploiting, teamworking players turn away from BF2, making BF2 a war zone full of idiots, how do we prevent this?
