You didn't tell me your handle btw, I look forward to playing with ya.

Yes but the difference is, if you see her first and zoom in FASTER, you will get the kill. In BF2, you are not guaranteed anything. I have snuck up on guys, unloaded entire clips into the back of their head, only to have them turn around and kill me instantly.

surprise! that never happened to me.

Oh yeah, maybe that's because weapons in battlefield2 are actually balanced, and your G36C (my understanding of game mechanics tells me that you were using either G36C or M4) unfortunately fell short of its capability because your armor was no match to your enemy (who was using AK or G3, I suppose).

and oh, if you really shot him in the head you shouldn;t have that problem.

i love how the non llama crowed came out and told the whiners whats up.

YES dogfighting in 1.12 took some fair amount of skill, yet a pro pilot was immortal.
YES that skill has changed and while locking on doesnt take skill, evading your enemy does.
YES missiles didnt work in 1.12, resulting in unchecked ground attack.
YES the patched aa was for the better.

so shut up about it already (mostly just chris renfield and planewhore)

Lmao... thanks for pointing that out captain obvious.

If there was a way to make 1st person demos without slowing my FPS to a crawl, I would make a video compilation showing all the times I have clearly outgunned and outsmarted my opponent, only to be killed instantly by a lucky random bullet.

Unfortunately there is not, so I'm doomed to continue whining about it even though I know EA will never fix the problem, seeing as how they only care about money, and more noobs = more money.

This has happened to me in EVERY FPS game I've ever played. It is the worst in BF2 though because there's so many people with lots of different guns and vehicles. It is the most frustrating in CS though because you have to wait so long to respawn.

I remember once in CS on Dust I was running into the tunnel with a group of five people when I suddenly get headshotted out of nowhere by an AK. Surprise, surprise I am the only one that died out of the whole group...and I was near the back of the group.

omg how dare you insult my uber aiming skills!@!@#$

Honestly though I'm through discussing this issue because there is no way for me to provide proof. I've seen it on my computer, and I've watched it happen on my roomate's computer, and I've listened to very talented gamers scream and yell about it on vent. And it's been discussed to death on the CAL forums, where people actually know what they're talking about... so whether the people here agree or not really makes no difference.

YES dogfighting in 1.12 took some fair amount of skill, yet a pro pilot was immortal.
Fair ammount of skills huh? Sire this sentence contradicts itsself. When you set in just "fair ammount" and "immortality" then they dont mix. Pro pilots prevailed when they had a less skilled opposition. If you have chased down a bomber the whole round, you gave your troops time to breathe. That dogfighter was effective and he did it for the team.

YES that skill has changed and while locking on doesnt take skill, evading your enemy does.
Erm, lets assume by your logic that this is the way it is. I, as the guy who wants to enjoy dogfights, must now find jets and sit in front of them ans start enjoying the game when I start hearing loud beeps? LOL. Man... seriously.

YES missiles didnt work in 1.12, resulting in unchecked ground attack.
The 1.12 STA missiles didnt work as people would be expecting them to, people always assumed that they should be 1 shot 1 hit weapons. But because the werent, infantry quickly discarded them and told that they didnt work. Hints and tips by experienced AAers were ignored. Let me break it down to you in simple terms-

1.12 AA did not work if you expected it to hit at any time you would shoot it into the enemy air vehicle. It DID work if you started to put extra effort in the process. If you timed your shots and the angle youre firing from. They did work.

YES the patched aa was for the better.
Your opinion though. Most agree that STA against jets is OK. Most agree or tend to agree that STA against choppers is madness. Some of the experienced jet pilots agree that ATA changed the dogfighting. Some agree that ATA disregarded skills from dogfights. Theres a whole bunch of opinions and until you start backing yours up, it will cost jack. Thanks.

so shut up about it already (mostly just chris renfield and planewhore)
I hate being picky about typos in forums, but names should always be spelt correctly. No exceptions.

Im going to go through your points again.

YES dogfighting in 1.12 took some fair amount of skill, yet a pro pilot was immortal.
I was only immortal against players with less skills, experienced. Worse hardware (mouse or keyboard only) and players with too much ego in the skies. I wasnt immortal against players with higher skill level. I also wasnt immortal when I did a mistake in a dogfight. The only problem is that you people think that a dogfight SHOULD be over in a matter of seconds. I disagree. I enjoyed prolongued fights.

YES that skill has changed and while locking on doesnt take skill, evading your enemy does.
I want to enjoy all the aspects of dogfighting. I want to know that when Im locked on to, I STAND A CHANCE. Yes. Infantry takes cover, runs off. A jet needs to have a safe spot in their maneuvers aswell. No, I dont want it to be a battle of the first lock. I want it to be a battle of maneuvering skills. A battle of timing and a battle of mind. Who will exhaust whom first, who will make the first fatal mistake (Yet still have a chance to stay alive). And so on.

YES missiles didnt work in 1.12, resulting in unchecked ground attack.
********. I got my fair share of STA kills. Most of the STA sites were left alone.

YES the patched aa was for the better.
They n00bified the patch. Maybe not on the infatry level. maybe they did the infantry combat a better thing now, which is great. But they made ATA something it should never be in a player vs player game.

To clear it up once more- this video was not meant to show you uber1337 dogfighting skills, but rather show how the ATA missiles reach their targets. I counted around 4 ATA kills that wouldnt be possible prepatch. One of them being the shot where the missile that was already launched hit the enemy jet in its central fuselage part under a very sharp angle. Which was BS. And of course the last kill...

People whom say things like "you can dodge the AA missiles" automatically lose any and all credibility with me, and are either horribly misinformed, or purposefully being deceptive. Fact: You cannot dodge 1.2 missiles, and the only way they're not hitting you is if they choose a new target. My video to an extent proves that, as every missile I fired hit a target, and those that missed my intended target hit another target.

If you want to reside in the "oh missiles are easy to dodge!" camp then you ought to show a sliver of proof to back up your statement, because this pilot has all kinds of proof and experience pointing to the contrary.

There are 55 or less infatry units on the ground, they are all shooting at each other. Often kills are what is expected. There are 4 planes in the air, expect rare kills among each other.

you CANNOT dodge the missile UNLESS you LOSE the LOCK, which IS possible.

and all, the CAL players aren't better than everyone else. Maybe some people just don't have the time to play game all day so they can't join clans.
