Hey all, first post here. First, I haven't watched the video yet, I'm at work, but I'd like to thank you for the information on this. I always thought that you got the extra -4 points when punished. I've been playing this game since it came out, and I read and post on forums regularly, yet I have never once seen this posted.

Just to add my own thoughts, I believe you get -2 points for each 50% of a teammate's health you take off, so for a TK at full health, you get a total of -4 points for team damage, then another -4 for the actual kill. Haven't tested any of this completely, but I believe that's how it works.

Area51, its not that complicated .

When shooting infantry units, you get a -2 every time you get a "team damage". You get -4 for an actual TK. So when you shoot a full healty infanrty unit you get -2 first for the team damage and -4 for the actual teamkill. However, if you kill them outflat, you only get -4.

Punishes dont increase the score, they serve as a means to get you kicked for your "misbehaviour" on the server.

Anyhow, I have a question. At which level does the "team damage" occur. Because shooting an Essex cannon you get 3 team vehicle damages before a TK and destruction of government property.

I've always gone off of the scoring system at Gamespot:

They are accurate on all the other points, so I assumed the 50% for team damage was accurate too, and it seems to be true in my experience.

It is at exactly 50% health. Here's the deal, if someone else has injured them first and then you shoot them down to 50%, you don't get a team damage. In other words, if you and a buddy took turns shooting your pistol at a friendlies chest the only negative points accrued would be given to the person who finished him off. Thats just one instance, I'm not sure how it works otherwise. Like say, someone shoots him to 75% and you take him to 25% (Taking essentially 50% health). I'm not sure if you get team damage for that or not.

Punish has ZERO effect on your teamscore.

The only thing it does is effect how soon you get kicked for teamkilling.

Servers decides the amount of the TK and if TK counts add to a server kick.

I have already answered that.

If you were to accidentally shoot a GL at a friend near a red barrel that is also next to a hummer. The red barrel blows up, exploding the hummer next to it with low health (-4 for TK). Then 2 friendlies go jump on the smoking carcass of the hummer and when it explodes again and disapears those 2 guys are hurt by the explosion becuase of your GL (not as a direct result, but this is how BF2 works). They are damaged and you are given (-2 x 2 = -4 + -4 (original tk) = -8).
